  4. Well they are their own family, and they have to decide what they want to do, and what works for them...

  5. Well, Josh is starting his own life now finally. He is free to dress as he sees fit and feels called. I believe we will see alot of change in this family as they flourish on their own and learn what works and what they feel is their calling for their own family. What Jim Bob and Michelle feel called to do does not mean that Josh and Anna are called to the same principles in life. Dressing in shorts and pants is not wrong or a sin. Each person feels called by God for their own purpose and mission. That doesn't mean one's children have the same calling. If one feels it is God's will for them to eat or dress a certain way, then they must do so. That doesn't mean everyone has that same calling from God and that doesn't make it right or wrong for someone else. I am a vegetarian and consume minimal if any sugars and refined flour-I feel it is my calling and mission to eat this way. I teach my children to make good healthy eating choices and for the most part I am raising my children in the vegetarian lifestyle. That doesn't mean they will be vegetarians when they are out on their own and grown. They each will have their own calling and will be impressed by God to live the lifestyle that they feel God is calling them to live. It is out of respect that children are willing to abide by their parents calling in raising their children while under their authority and Josh has done that. Now he is on his own and the head of his own family. He will look to God himself for his own council in rearing his family.

  6. I too was let down when I seen this picture of Josh . When the family first started doing the shows ,everyone was so MODEST dressing in every way.It is sad to see how sleeves, skirts, pants and so forth are getting shorter as the show keeps going on.

  7. @Rebekah

    Rebekah,

God made our wonderful arms and legs. There is nothing wrong in showing them in a short sleeved shirt or long shorts. The woman pictured is dressed modestly. I don't see her knees. I am all for modesty, but it can be done very tastefully and in shorts. If a man can knee length shorts, why can't a woman, or a little boy or girl?

  8. I'm a Bible-believing Christian, and these comments about Josh in shorts blow my mind. What's wrong with legs? Why does Josh wearing shorts mean he's no longer modest? Who decides what body parts must be covered in order to be modest? I guess if they all wore burkas, the hand-wringers could relax?
