An episode of Counting On showed the Duggar gals' trip to Branson, Missouri, and Jason Duggar celebrated his sweet 16. The Dillards and Seewalds were featured in Us Weekly.

In May, Jill gave viewers a tour of her new home in Central America, and the Duggars (including Josh and Anna Duggar) visited the Bates in Tennessee. The Duggars shared a video of toothless Josie Duggar learning piano, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar celebrated 32 years of marriage. Jinger and Jeremy's relationship continued to blossom, leading to a romantic New York City rooftop engagement.

In August, Jim Bob Duggar and his sons attended an aircraft convention, and the Dillards returned home from Central America. Jinger and Jeremy shared their Central Park engagement photos and appeared on the cover of Us Weekly, and Seewalds announced their second pregnancy.

  1. Wow what a year they had! I've been praying for Josh and Anna. I hope things are going well in their marriage. No one deserves forgiveness for their sin but thanks be to God, we can receive forgiveness through His Son Jesus!

I remember those prairie dresses the girls used to wear. They were cute dresses I thought. I think ladies can wear long dresses or skirts and still be fashionable.

Well a Happy New Year to the Duggar Families, Sewalds,Vuolos and Dillards. May this year be full of blessings for all of you!

    1. If you don't like it don't look at it! I'm perfectly fine with it being posted. He is part of the family still!

    2. I second that!

    3. Why? He's part of the family. If you don't like it don't read the Duggar Family blog. You are just being ignorant. Show some forgiveness!

    4. Why would I have to forgive Josh? He did nothing to me. So I can look at his behavior and choose to think he's a fine human being, or I can choose to not...

  4. Is this your New Year's post or just a recap of last year? I thought there was some exciting news to share.

  5. Thank you, ladies, for this post. I have learned from it that Jill and Derick are/were employed by SOS Ministries. Why are they asking for donations to Dillard Family Ministries? Since they are employed by SOS, why do they need donations for this? How are each connected or not? From what funds do Jill and Derick personally live off from? Thank you for finally clearing THIS UP for us that we have had unanswered all year.

    1. Hi there,

Glad you enjoyed the post. Most missionaries are affiliated with a specific organization, but most missionaries still have to raise their own funding. When missionaries join forces with an organization, it doesn't automatically mean that they become paid employees of that organization.

Hope this helps answer your question. :)

  6. Not sure why you continue to share things about Josh. He is not of interest to the majority of people who still keep up with the Duggars.

    1. Agree. They are going to end up losing their show if they don't stop trying to put him back in the spotlight.

    2. I'm interested in hearing how he's trying (and hopefully succeeding) to get back on the right track.

    3. I'm definitely interested in knowing about Josh

    4. If you want to know about Josh, just keep reading the tabloids.

    5. Fans please don't encourrage Josh and fAnna to go back in the spotlight- look where it took them in the end. Leave them in peace if you truly want their best to develop a stable, healthy and happy future family life.

    6. I'm interested in hearing how he and Anna are doing.

    7. Hopefully he has a wise Christian man who will be his accountability and prayer partner. Preferably someone who has experienced what Josh has been through and has found victory over that type of sin.

  7. I enjoyed the post and watched the one where Jana was doing a make-up tutorial on Joy Anna. I have no issues with make-up but can somebody please explain why they are allowed to wear make-up but never seem to cut their hair? Is it part of their belief system? I love long hair but they all need at least a trim to make it look healthier, in my opinion.

  8. Wow, Lily and Ellie, great post!
That took a while to do, I'm sure. Thanks for all your hard work and devotion to this blog. (And the Bates blog, as well).
    God bless,

  9. That reads like a Christmas letter that falls out of a card in your mail. They kind of glossed over some of the details of their year. Left out the parts about being terrified by a falling shower rack in Central America, Ben trying to rap, the girls defying wilderness training, Jeremy's past, Josh appearing on the show, hiding behind his son...

    1. Well that's how most end of the year updates are...most people don't include every single thing that happened during the year.

      Delete
    2. Seriously, you would include being frightened by a loud noise in your own family Christmas letter?

    3. It's a happy post, so why post the negative, unless u r a negative person who thrives on that kind of thing..Godbless and be happy.Feels good being kind and sweet, just like those Duggars✌👍😉

  10. This is true. My oldest daughter is a missionary with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) and she raises her own funds either through donations or a job. She is definitely not being paid from YWAM.

  11. Thank you so much, Lily and Ellie for addressing my post regarding Dillard Ministries/SOS. We have heard so little explanation from them about what it is that they do and how they are living, financially. Thank you again.

  12. Why not one syllable mentioned about Mary Duggar since she moved out? She was complimented, mentioned and seen on their show and how Michelle couldn't get the laundry done without her, etc...It is assumed she moved out quietly and quickly, but no word from the Duggars about it. Why?

    1. Perhaps Mary would like to keep her life out of the public eye now? There doesn't have to be controversy about everything

      Delete
    2. I didn't know she had moved out. Maybe she needs a break/rest from such a busy household? I am sure many older people would find all that activity tiring.

      Delete
    3. She went to live with Amy's mom after the divorce (Amy's mom's). Mary doesn't want to keep out of the public eye. Ever wonder who might have been behind the family getting a show, or getting all the things needed to build and furnish that big house?

      Delete
    4. I wonder how they're faring without Grandma doing those chores, or is Jana picking up the slack?

  13. There isn't any controversy about Grandma moving out...it's a question, that's all. Since this family trumpets all they can while they can, we then have radio silence about those very things. All they needed to do was to let everyone know that Grandma has decided to move out, (if she did) and that she's wanting some quiet and privacy in her life right now...but they don't do things like that. They ignore things that we all notice and seemingly don't want to comment, which leads to more questions as to why that is. What's up with Mary Duggar?

  14. Hello Duggar family!

I tried posting this yesterday, and I don't believe that it went through. We just moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania and are having a hard time finding a church. We share practically the same beliefs as you do. Upon doing a little research, I found that the Bates family attends at church a little bit over an hour away from us in Clinton, TN. We live in a small town called Athens. Do you have any churches you could recommend to us that are at the most a 30 minute drive? Thank you so much!

    1. I think the 30 minute drive to the Bates church would be nice, they are such a sweet, welcoming fun loving family.Good luck on your search🕇☻🏣

  15. Congratulations @5:50 PM on your new move! I pray you and your family will find a good church and good Christian fellowship.

  17. The free stuff and assistance that Grandma Duggar obtained for her son's family was some time ago when she was younger and had more energy, like us all. We are curious what's up now with her., That's all, no controversy, just a legitimate question...as we don't see her or especially that she isn't mentioned at all suddenly without explanation. If she was so needed in her son's household, how could they do without her help now?

  18. You mentioned Jason's sweet 16, but aren't you forgetting about Jed and Jer's birthday? It's even more important, because they've just became adults.

  19. this is a really stupid question, but: i noticed that everyone else has their full first name listed except 'josh', not 'joshua'. just wondering, is this because he prefers it (like jim bob instead of james robert?) just curious. hope to see things working out good for them this year
