The Dillards are Home!

This just in! Jill and Derick Dillard, along with an exhausted Israel Dillard, have arrived home safely from Central America. They were greeted at the airport by family. (Click here to find out how the Dillards will be using their time in the United States.)

The Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport has become a very special place for the Duggars over the years, as they have welcomed many groups of family members back home after long trips.

Do you remember watching Jill Duggar and the rest of the Duggar and Dillard families greet Derick when he returned from his two-year stay in Nepal back in 2014?

  2. Glad you made it home safe and sound. Yeah, that is a long trip for little Izzy plus he will be off schedule for a little bit. Patience is the answer, plus lots of family around to give you breaks as well. I am really looking forward to seeing you all on Counting on right away... SHOULD BE ON ALL THE TIME... LOVE YOU GUYS.

    1. Israel shouldn't be far off schedule. They didn't cross any time zones. Look at a world time zone map and you'll see. Central America is the same as, well, central America.

  3. Welcome home! I hope it'll be possible to stay home for an extended period, and just enjoy family, let Israel enjoy his cousins, get back to really good health and good food, and be away from Zika so they can focus on having another baby.

    1. Why would you want them to focus on having another baby? Everyone presumes that all these girls will ever do is have babies babies babies. I'd like to see her go to an accredited state-run college. Can't hurt now that she's a married woman, doesn't need a chaperone, and should be free to think for herself and learn whatever she wants to learn. So that's what I'll wish for now that she's back in the states - college. Or high school, if she needs to finish that education first so she can take tests to qualify for college entrance requirements. She has built-in babysitters now, so it's the perfect time!

    2. Why do people think its ALL CLEAR for the Dillard's to consider another baby just because they are in Arkansas? Do they think Arkansas doesn't have Zika? Because Arkansas has it too!

    3. 5 people in Arkansas have been diagnosed with Zika. All 5 contracted it elsewhere. There are 0 cases of Zika that have been acquired in Arkansas, so it is not fair to say that there is Zika in Arkansas. It is very unlikely that there are any mosquitoes carrying the virus there. http://www.cdc.gov/zika/geo/united-states.html

    4. 4:53, HATE to disappoint you, but the zika carrying musquito's are NOW in the USA as of a few weeks ago! OVER 1600 cases in the USA with 2 babies born with microencephaly! This virus is NO LONGER being found just due to travel anymore! And guess what? Back when it all started months ago, guess which state was the second one to diagnose zika in their state? You guessed it - ARKANSAS! SO, YES, ITS IN ARKANSAS and spreading thru the state and all others as well!

    5. Excuse me, Anon 8/9 at 9:30pm but did you even read the post you're responding to or check the cited link? The post is accurate. The only non-travel related cases of Zika (6 cases) are in Florida. 6 cases out of nearly 2000. There are no locally acquired cases in Arkansas. I don't know why you have to be so rude and insist on spreading inaccurate information. Please post this Lily and Ellie so that people can be correctly informed. http://www.cdc.gov/zika/intheus/maps-zika-us.html

  5. I wish they would just stay home. It is getting worse everyday for Americans to be anywhere over seas. God be with you all as you travel about.

    1. If she's pregnant or gets pregnant, I would imagine they will be staying somewhere safe. I wonder how their plans to ever be in another country will work out, if she has multiple or back-to-back pregnancies like her mother?

  6. Have lost count of how many times they've come home now.

    1. I know what you mean about all those trips. Seems when you work for that organization, you can pretty much do your own thing with coming and going, unlike church-sponsored missionaries who usually stay put for years, if not their whole life. My mother's cousin was sent to Brazil and spent the rest of her life there. Her Christmas cards never once mentioned coming back to the US.

    2. Ugh, big deal, let the come back and fourth as many times as they want, they are doing good while they are there..are you? Why does it bother y'all so much?Give it a rest and just be happy with your own life and quit being so judgemental.

    2. I noticed that as well. Israel looks adorable.

    3. I still wear maternity tops and i am not pregnant. Whats the big deal?

    4. It's not a maternity top and that photo is from March, so no announcement for now.

    5. That photo isnt current. The last photo waiting in the airport there was no beard and he had longer hair with a man bun.
I am hoping for more current photos and I am wondering if Jill is pregnant again with the TLC clip showing a baby belly while sitting at the table talking about having another within two years....
They wont share much with the ladies or us until the show returns this month. I'm sure it is a marketing thing with TLC or People Magazine contract.

    6. looks like one of those new style tops with the elastic in the bottom hem to me.

    7. Loose in the belly doesn't mean maternity. I can't imagine how hard it must be for them to constantly be monitored. People are always looking for an extra pound or loose top so they can assume a Duggar is pregnant

    8. I have a top just like Jill's and I'm not pregnant.
The Zika virus was only their in the summertine it is now winter down their.

  18. Your new header is teensy. Having trouble seeing it.

    1. They have to fit any increasing number of pictures in the header as the family grows. I imagine the size (at least of the individual photos) will continue to get smaller for that reason. I think the ladies did a great job!

  19. Welcome home, Dillard family!!Sure you'll enjoy a joyous reunion with family and hopefully, a little rest. Israel has really grown--he is adorable!I am sure you have blessed many people as you did God's work in Central America. Glad you're home, though. God bless you all.

  21. Welcome home, can't wait for the new season to start I miss the show. I've learn a lot of values and I'll share them with my family...Much love to the Duggars & Dillard's!

  22. Ok I'm sure this is a silly question, but I'm confused. Did they just arrive back at their home in Central America or did they arrive in Arkansas for a visit with family?

    1. They're back in Arkansas. You can find the "official" reason they came home poster earlier in this blog (and online), or you can speculate why they really came back. Some of the speculations make more sense than the "official" reason.

  23. Glad they had a safe trip and are home for awhile. I can't wait for their show to be on. I just wish that it could stay on longer, maybe like once a week. I miss the old show. People need to stop saying things about the family. What has happened has happened and it's time to let them move on. The kids can't do anything without everyone talking about it. Let them lead normal lives and move on. They are a good Christian family and what people need to realize that Christians are not perfect. They make mistakes and that is between them and God. Glad that the Dillards are home for awhile. The little guy is getting so big. Thank you for allowing us to post and having such a great Blog.

  24. God bless you and your beautiful family. I am happy that you had a safe trip home. Israel looks so big still a cutie like his dad. I dod hope you stay here in the states for a longer time so you can be with your families. I know your mission work is important and that is so great that your family is doing this. You are such an amazing family. Enjoy your time home.

  25. Thanks for updating the header pictures! If Jill is staying in the pool house, are Josh and Anna and kids in that large storage building/living area that Ben stayed at? I can't imagine Josh is at the house with all his little sibling sisters.

  26. So glad they are home. Perhaps they can stay for an extended period and allow Derick to get a job to work for pay for a while if that works for them. Derick looks like he's happy, but tired and needing some good nutrition and rest. Wish them the best as they recharge being around family.

  27. So happy that they're home safe and sound! By the way, did you notice that the new blog logo isn't appearing right? It's appearing smaller than the width of the blog, like the dimensions are off or something. Just wanted to let you know! I wasn't sure where else to tell you.

  28. They must not get much traffic in that airport or else they sectioned off a place for filming. Where's everyone else getting on or off a plane?

I don't like arriving in an airport and having to fight my way through a throng of people with signs and balloons and cameras while I'm trying to find Baggage Claim and get to my luggage before someone else does. Yes, we know you're excited that someone has come home, but stand to the side and not make a human wall that everyone else has to get past. Or just send one or two people to pick someone up, then jump all over them as big as you want when they get to the house. I'm amazed TSA even lets people without tickets inside the airport any more. Wish they didn't. I don't feel safe with unscreened people hanging around. I just had to take off my shoes and get an x-ray image of myself taken for strangers to see, so they should, too.

    1. Airports are getting ridiculous. The lines are crazy and security is a joke. The people who walk while texting are another danger. If you're pulling or pushing a suitcase around people, you really should keep your eyes on where you're walking, not your phone.

      Delete
    2. Know at airports you don't have to take shoes off anymore.
I never had to take my shoes off.

      Delete
    3. Oh YES you do have to take shoes off! Shoes, belts, jackets, and anything else the TSA tells you to remove (I had to remove my shirt that I was wearing over a sleeveless shell!). If you sign up and pay for a year of TSA Precheck, or if you "win the lottery" and get randomly assigned that status when you check in at the airport, you don't remove shoes. But everyone else DOES remove shoes, except for some high-low age limits. I even saw them helping to remove the shoes of someone in a wheelchair when I flew a few weeks ago.

    4. I flew last week and had to remove my shoes. Maybe you have TSA precheck

    1. He had palatal expansion surgery, but it sure looks like it didn't go as planned. Maybe they can correct it with the braces?

      Delete
    2. His appearance really changed due to the change in his teeth. He actually looks like a different person. I miss the old Derick look.

      Delete
    3. Palatal expansion is always down in conjunction with braces. My guess is that since he was in Central America, he did not get proper follow up orthodontic care. He had braces, which require adjustment every few weeks or even more often. This should have been done with an orthodontist that coordinated a treatment plan with the surgeon who performed the expansion.

  31. With the zika virus raging in central America and them not believing in birth control they just need to stay in the states.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Anyone can get the Zika virus. I read that 3 guys in Florida got the Zika virus.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. There are now over 1600 cases of zika in the United States, not just 3 in Florida lol! And scientists for the CDC have found the mosquito that transmits the virus in the US, so new cases are not just from travel anymore! Look it up! ALL TRUE!!!

      Delete
    2. Yes, there are cases all over the US but it is not accurate to imply that there is a significant number of locally acquired cases. The only locally acquired cases of Zika in the US have been 6 in Florida. YOU need to look up facts before posting. http://www.cdc.gov/zika/intheus/maps-zika-us.html

  33. Central America is only 1 hour head of eastern time.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, it's one hour behind EST. But CA is the same as Central Standard Time in the US, except for Panama, which is on EST. So the Duggars flew straight north, without changing time zones.
