Jason Duggar's Wedding

Jason Duggar married Maddie Grace yesterday in Newport, Tennessee. Maddie is a Tennessee native, although the newlyweds will live in Arkansas. Their 300 guests were treated to Italian food, including cheesecake and ice cream, as the couple will honeymoon in Italy.

According to the People Magazine article about their wedding, Jason and Maddie "met" via social media in December 2023 and made their relationship public about five months later. Jason proposed on the beach on August 24th. Thirteen of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children are now married. Since 2014, there have only been four years (2015, 2019, 2020, and 2023) in which the Duggar family did not have a wedding. So far, the most weddings they have had in one year has been two.

Exciting news! Jason Duggar is in a relationship with a girl named Maddie. Jason, who is No. 12 of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's 19 children, turned 24 in April.

A few of the Duggar siblings made the trip out to Los Angeles to visit Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo. While there, they attended a Major League Baseball game at Dodger Stadium. Have you ever been to an MLB game?

Jason's Golden Birthday

Today is Jason Duggar's 21st birthday. Turning twenty-one is a big deal, and it's an even bigger deal because it's also his golden birthday. Happy birthday, Jason! He is No. 12 in the Duggar family lineup.

Busy Week for the Forsyths

It has been a busy time for Joy and Austin Forsyth. Austin drove out to Colorado with a few guys, including Jason Duggar. They went backpacking and elk hunting but were unsuccessful at harvesting an animal. Meanwhile, Joy had a visit from her best friend, Carlin (Bates) Stewart, and Carlin's daughter Layla. 

When Austin returned home, he surprised his wife with a birthday getaway, which included Hallmark moves at the Keeter Center, a beautiful hotel located near Branson, Missouri.

Jason Turns 20

On the premiere date of the Duggars' first reality TV special, "14 Children and Pregnant Again," Jason Duggar was only four years old. Today, he turns 20. Happy birthday to Jim Bob and Michelle's 12th child!

Jason and James Serve in TN

Last Tuesday, Nashville and Middle Tennessee were hit with a destructive tornado system that killed at least 24 and caused widespread devastation. Following the storm, Jason Duggar and James Duggar and a group from MEDIC CORPS, which included Lawson Bates and Nathan Bates, headed to Putnam County to serve. Using heavy equipment, the crew has been hard at work doing cleanup and recovery. In addition, they have also helped homeowners locate pets and important documents.

Duggars Provide Relief to Bahamas

For the residents of the Bahamas, the past 36 hours have been a nightmare, as Hurricane Dorian stalled over the islands and caused mass destruction. A few of the Duggars (John-David, Jana, Jason, James, and Austin), along with Lawson Bates and Nathan Bates, flew to the Bahamas this morning to lend a hand. They are with an organization called Medic Corps and will be using their training to deliver emergency supplies and provide medical and disaster relief. Those who are interested in supporting their efforts can do so on the Medic Corps website.

It's no secret that Joy-Anna Duggar (now Joy-Anna Forsyth) grew up as a tomboy. With two brothers directly above her in the family lineup and six below her, she spend a good portion of her childhood years playing with the boys. And even though she is 21 and married with a son, she still maintains a very close relationship with her brothers. That's why this new photo of "Joy and the boys" is so sweet.

For nostalgia, we have also included a Counting On video clip that aired around the time of Joy's wedding but contains old footage of Joy as a little girl. (The video is from 2017, so disregard the message at the end that says that Counting On airs on Monday nights.)

Another year, another Duggar graduation! Just yesterday, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar threw a graduation party for Jason and James at their home. A bunch of family and friends came together to celebrate these two guys and their completion of high school. Jason is the 12th Duggar child and turned 19 in April, while James is No. 13 and just had his 18th birthday this month.

Since starting this blog almost 10 years ago, we have written about a handful of Duggar graduations (Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah, and Jeremiah).

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at the Duggars'

Have you ever attended an ugly Christmas sweater party? Jim Bob and Michelle, Jana, and a few of the younger Duggar children are on a mission trip in Central America, but the Duggars back home threw an ugly Christmas sweater party at the "big house." Their get-together included Italian food, a baking competition, a white elephant gift exchange, board games, and lots of ugly sweaters.

Jed, Jer, and Jason Do Prison Ministry

For those wondering what the unmarried Duggar adults have been doing, we have an update to share. Last week, Jedidiah Duggar (19), Jeremiah Duggar (19), and Jason Duggar (18) took part in prison ministry, alongside several other men. They partnered with the staff from Journey to the Heart.

If you are a longtime reader of the blog, you have probably heard us mention Journey to the Heart. It is a spiritual retreat, initially created for young people but now available for older adults, in which many of the Duggar kids have participated. The goal is to focus, for several days, on the Lord and to discover his Love in a deeper way.

Jason's 18th Birthday Party

Jason Duggar celebrated his 18th birthday early, with a party attended by family and friends. Guests chowed down on homemade ice cream cake. For the next several days, the Duggars will be in  Big Sandy, Texas, for the annual homeschool conference.

Memories with the Duggar Kiddos

Now that 11 of their children are adults (soon to be 12, when Jason Duggar turns 18 in April), Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar only have a handful of little ones left. With the chaos of wedding preparation behind them (until the next Duggar courtship begins, and it's time to run the race once again), the parents of 19 took some time to make memories with their youngest kiddos.

Duggars in Big Sandy, 2017

The Duggars are spending the week in Big Sandy, Texas, at the annual family homeschool conference. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children have attended this event for many years, and they always love catching up with old friends and meeting new ones. The conference features age-appropriate activities and inspiring messages for both children and adults.

Flowers for Jana

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar teach their children to constantly look for opportunities to build others up and express gratefulness. One of the ways they model this is by striving to praise their children ten times more than they correct them.

If you have been a long-time viewer of the show, you have probably seen many examples of the Duggars blessing others. Sixteen-year-old Jason Duggar recently surprised his oldest sister, 27-year-old Jana Duggar, with a bouquet of flowers and a heartfelt note. Do you have any suggestions of small ways to show kindness to those around you?

Duggars' 2016 Year in Review

2016 was a busy year for the Duggar family. We hope you enjoy our recap. (Click the blue lettering for more information about each topic.)

In January, we announced the organization that the Dillards joined up with in Central America. Jim Bob, Michelle, and Josie Duggar attended the Fox News GOP Presidential Debates, and Anna Duggar released a statement about husband Josh Duggar's progress at rehab.  

In February, a lawsuit against Josh was officially dismissed, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar visited the Dillards in Central America. Michelle and Anna Duggar attended The Fervent Tour and met Priscilla Shirer, and TLC announced a full season of Counting On.

In March, the Duggars announced Josh Duggar's completion of rehab and return to Arkansas. The oldest Duggar siblings appeared on Good Morning America ahead of the March 15th Counting On premiere. The Seewalds shared their Christmas photo shoot with baby Spurgeon. Jana Duggar debunked a media myth and spoke about marriage and contentment. Johannah Duggar embarked on her first mission trip to Central America. Jana Duggar and Jinger Duggar discussed their roles as aunts and their hopes for the future, and the Duggar siblings all pitched in to build a massive tree fort. 

In April, John-David Duggar shared his future goals, and his sisters commented on the "prairie dresses" that they wore on earlier TV specials. An episode of Counting On showed the Duggar gals' trip to Branson, Missouri, and Jason Duggar celebrated his sweet 16. The Dillards and Seewalds were featured in Us Weekly.

In May, Jill gave viewers a tour of her new home in Central America, and the Duggars (including Josh and Anna Duggar) visited the Bates in Tennessee. Jim Bob, Michelle, and James Duggar flew down to Central America to celebrate Jill's 25th birthday, and the entire family took a beach vacation near Pensacola, Florida. Josh and Anna Duggar released a statement about the status of their marriage

In June, Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo announced their courtship, and Jessa shared how much she has learned from Anna about motherhood.

In July, the Duggars observed Chick-fil-A's annual Cow Appreciation Day, and TLC spoke out against rumors that Josh Duggar would appear on Counting On. The Duggars shared a video of toothless Josie Duggar learning piano, and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar celebrated 32 years of marriage. Jinger and Jeremy's relationship continued to blossom, leading to a romantic New York City rooftop engagement.

In August, Jim Bob Duggar and his sons attended an aircraft convention, and the Dillards returned home from Central America. Jinger and Jeremy shared their Central Park engagement photos and appeared on the cover of Us Weekly, and Seewalds announced their second pregnancy.

In September, Jana Duggar and Jessa Seewald shared an alfredo sauce tutorial video, and the Duggar ladies went on a wedding planning trip. Jana Duggar filmed an eye makeup tutorial. In honor of Josh and Anna Duggar's eighth wedding anniversary, the family revealed a new photo of the happy couple. 

In October, TLC aired episodes featuring Jeremy Vuolo's proposal, as well as footage of a redecorating project headed up by Jana Duggar. Anna Duggar's sister Priscilla Waller welcomed her third child, and the Dillards attended OSU Homecoming.

In November, the entire Duggar family, as well as 1,000 guests, celebrated Jinger Duggar's wedding. Jinger and Jeremy were featured in People Magazine. Less than two weeks later, Joy-Anna Duggar announced her courtship with longtime friend Austin Forsyth. The Vuolo newlyweds spent their honeymoon Down Under, and the Duggars celebrated Thanksgiving with a trip to Branson, Missouri, accompanied by extended family.

In December, we shared the list of Jinger Vuolo's bridesmaids and announced that cousin Amy Duggar King would be returning to reality TV with husband Dillon King. Jill and Derick Dillard had an early Christmas gathering with Derick's family and announced their second pregnancy to the world. The Duggars hosted big celebrations for Christmas and New Year's.
