  6. when will you be adding a ? for Anna and Josh's baby to the picture above? I know people still have reservations about Josh but what about Anna?

    1. They also need to update Joe's pic to one of Joe and Kendra!

    2. They aren't going to change until the baby gets here

    3. I didn't realize they were expecting? Wow.

    4. I don't know why anybody should have reservations about Josh. Yes, he made mistakes, but he without sin...cast the first stone. God forgives and Jesus told us we were supposed to too. It is nobody's job but GOD'S to judge him.

    5. @Martha Benton I agree with what you're saying. And it really isn't about fans forgiving Josh. What's important is that we pray his sisters and family will have the grace to move on. Josh betrayed a lot of people - and in his secrets involved a lot of innocent ones. However, all this is completely different when you're talking about bringing him back into the public. It's a whole different ball game.

    6. My goodness, poor Lily and Ellie, trying to keep up with the ever growing Duggar family. As soon as they published one header they've got to get started on another. Keep up the excellent work, ladies! We appreciate it so much!

    7. Josh shouldn't be on TV and neither should his parents. It's one strike you're out in the competitive TV world, if you haven't noticed. Networks don't care if their viewers have "forgiven" anyone. You do anything to devalue their business or their reputation and you're toast. Maybe another network will pick you up later if they feel you're still relevant, but that's their gamble.

    8. I don't know why everyone has to make such a big deal about the photo header! It has nothing at all to do with Josh, not because of his past transgressions or anything else.
They updated the new header right before Josh and Anna announced the were expecting which is why they had a space for Jessa and Jill's babies because they had already announced.
I'm sure once they update it with all the new families and babies it will show Josh and Anna's baby boy there as well sure as Joe & Kendra together.
They might also be waiting to see if there is going to be an announcement coming down the line for Jinger and now possibly Joy before they create the new one.
They have a family friend who makes them up, not Lily and Ellie, and they aren't as easy as one might think to create!
Just a little patience everyone :) Soon enough we will see everyone as they should be in the header!

    9. Chill. If you think you can do a better job of keeping the header up to your standards, start your own Duggar blog for Pete's sake!

    10. Some of these people just shouldn't be on this blog if they don't want to see Josh

    12. I am reaĺly happy for Jill. and for the rest of the girls. I love Jinger. About Josh. He did many wrongs, committed a lot of sins against his family. Did he repent? Time will tell us. Sadly, and understandably, the pain he inflicted on others has not gone away.

      Delete
    13. And I'm not sure it ever will, Anon@4:38, I'm not sure the pain will ever go away. But we can forgive.

    3. Yes Henry is a traditional name. Also cute. I really like Samuel Scott, has a really nice flow!

    4. Henry is a traditional name, and a name that is hardly used anymore in America. And Spurgeon is very unique, nobody will know if he'll grow up to hate it or not.

    5. I know, nothing is wrong with unique names. Different isn't bad or wrong, it's just different.

  24. I think they should have held off with this announcement and had it be part of the People magazine exclusive birth story that no doubt is to come.

    1. I'm glad they decided NOT to wait to announce the child's name in that gossip rag People magazine!

      Delete
    2. I disagree! No more Duggar's dealing with People Magazine! I wish they would end that altogether and just announce stuff here or on the today show like they used to. Unless the today show wont allow them on?

      Delete
    3. The Today show hasn't touched them since all the scandals broke, infact Fox news is the only channel (apart from TLC) which has had them on. I see many people saying they should move to UP TV channel, but this isn't going to happen, networks have seen the public backlash against TLC and won't go there. Also UP has the Bates family, I don't think they would put the two families up against each other.

    1. Rachel? Muriel?

      Delete
    2. You may have just hit upon their naming pattern...

      Delete
    3. Rachel is a girl name with the el on the end, but she had stated she like a certain name for a girl, I think from the Bible, that I dont think ends in el !

      Delete
    4. Maybe girls' names ending "ah" or "a". Before they knew Israel was a boy, they had picked out the name Selah for a girl.

    5. Rachel, Angel, Annabel, Kristel, Laurel, Ariel, Isabel...

    6. I like that idea...Gabrielle, Arielle, Murielle (ick), Belle. Or put it at the beginning...Ella, Eloise, etc.

    7. Abigail, Marielle, same -el end sound.
Praying for Samuels safe delivery and for a quicker time frame than the last!

  29. It's nice that they shared the name with the readers. Very lovely name. And nice that they aren't using People magazine as their chosen media to share the news. I wish the rest of the Duggars would follw their example. It's a gossip magazine full of half truths :( All the best to the little Dillard family!

    1. Agree with this....couldn't have said it better myself.

    3. you realize that the same company that owns TLC, owns People Magazine

      Delete
    4. TLC is owned by discovery communications which in turn is owned by Hasbro. People magazine is owned by Time inc.

      Delete
    5. I must say that I find it odd when fans say that the Duggars shared something, or thank them for sharing their lives with us. The honest truth is that any information is put out to raise interest in something/someone or promote their show in a roundabout way. It is not done out of the goodness of their hearts, any really important news, weddings, pregnancy births etc are always in People magazine or on TLC website, where they get paid for the information. They also get paid by TLC to share their lives.

      Delete
    6. I usually don't buy People Magazine.....maybe one a year. So People really isn't making any money on me.

      Delete
    7. 8:48 - So you know the Duggars personally?

  32. Hopefully Jill has wised up about home births after the emergencies both she and Jessa went through. Samuel is an innocent child and deserves to be born in a safe environment.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Not a chance. The previews appear to show Jessa giving birth at home once again. I doubt Sis will do anything different.

      Delete
    2. Home births are just as safe, and in some ways safer then hospital births. Less chance of infection at home and more control of environment and treatment. Emergencies can happen anywhere and it's just the proper protocol and backup that is needed. Only in the last 65-70yrs have Hospital births become "normal"...prior to that almost all births were at home by a midwife. A good midwife is just as good, if not better, then a Doc.

      Delete
    3. A good midwife is great, I'm sure, but when there's an emergency, you're not in a hospital with the doctor and all the equipment needed.

      Delete
    4. In this day and age, home births are a way to go. Yeah, there's risk involved but not as much as there are in hospitals now.

  56. Lily and Ellie with all these reports about Josh joining his sisters lawsuit would it be possible for you to address it with a post. You are friends with the Duggars so could you not ask for confirmation or denial, no details required, and that would put an end to all the rumors swirling around? I know you try to keep this blog positive, but you did post about the sisters lawsuit, so I feel this should be addressed too. Many thanks.

btw, i'm sure you're waiting to update the header until after joseph & kendra get married, or josh & anna's baby is born (whichever is latest), but could you consider doing a header like the one you did for the bates? it really looks so nice! like put grandma where you have gil & kelly & follow the same route! (and please continue to post about josh & post pictures. whether some people like it or not, he is a part of this family!)

    1. It's interesting to me how many people have opinions about the blog header here.

      Delete
    2. That header has gotten to the tipping point and it's time to group family photos together, not try to get an individual one of everyone.

      Delete
    3. Anon @ 10:51 Im sure the admin are getting fed up with all the posts about the header. How many times do people need to be told that they won't be updating the header just yet, but they keep asking? Lily and Ellie maybe you should get rid of a picture header and just have a printed name header, then people couldn't keep asking when your going to update it again and again and again and......

      Delete
    4. No don't group whole families together put single a pic of each kid after their own family that way we can be updated as the kids grow!

      Delete
    5. 8:11, Do you realize how small those pictures are going to have to get in order to make everyone fit? They'll be so small you won't be able to make anything out. And then people will complain about that! Time to do family shots.

      Delete
  58. I have a Samuel, so of course, I love the name.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What are Jill's plans for her delivery this time? Will she risk another home birth or will she seek proper medical attention in a hospital with emergency equipment available right there if needed? Not so much for herself, but for this child they seem to value so much as a direct gift from God. I would hope so.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Actually, home births are safer than the hospitals. Where I'm from, a news station did a story that within the past year women been suffering from infections after giving birth in the hospitals. Hospitals don't properly clean anymore.

      Delete
    2. Please do not blanket all hospitals because of one local news item in your area. Also, if you're going to make an assertion that home births are safer, can you please point us to the statistics documenting the claim? I'd like to see them, as I know mothers on both sides of that fence. While a mother certainly has the freedom and right to choose her birth experience, she does not have the right the unnecessarily risk the health of their baby to stand on her "principles". Nor should she unnecessarily risk her own, midwife training or not. Reputable, well-trained midwives would never have allowed a Jessa or Jill situation to develop. Unfortunately, as with Michelle's OB telling her she should not continue to get pregnant, some women will disregard the very doctor they've hired because they trust his/her expertise because they feel they know better-and things happen and babies die. God puts people in our lives with information and expertise in areas we're lacking. We need to use wisdom.

  62. I wonder if Jana is courting? If I were her I would feel lost in that household. There is no definition or boundaries to her as an adult there. She is an aunt to an ever growing younger generation with parents who are always returning to the house she lives in. Her life seems out of her control!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You're probably going to have a lot of opinions that disagree with you, 8:39AM, but not mine. I don't think the Duggars know quite what to do with their grown children other than marry them off (females) or give them a piece of some sort of family business (males). Seems they didn't plan for that "season of life" when they were having baby after baby and had a show where that was cute. Well it's not as cute now. Lots of adults and near-adults in a holding pattern in that house these days.

      Delete
    2. That's ridiculous! They didn't have a show until they had fourteen kids, so obviously the number of children they have had nothing to do with the show. People were interested in them, because they had so many kids who were also well behaved. If their children were running wild everywhere, then no one would have wanted to see a show about them.

A lot of people grow up and work in their family's business. That isn't a holding pattern. They are working and spending time with family. Seeing them for a few minutes a week on the show doesn't give an accurate presentation of the rest of their lives. I am sure all of them live very busy lives like the rest of us do.

      Delete
    3. Remember, it just looked like the kids were well-behaved. How they got that way and if it worked still remained to be seen at that point.

      Delete
    4. Well in the few minutes they show then TLC should have film of what the oldest children at home do besides babysit.

      Delete
    5. It has filmed them buying cars and fixing them up to sell, fixing up houses, gardening, building the tree house, working on moving their grandmother's house and getting it set up, taking pictures of people, cooking, making jewelry, planning parties, doing yard work, etc. Do you even watch the show?

  75. maryann eggers: Are you a midwife or employed in the baby delivery business? It reads as if you may be. Having said that...I don't agree that birth at home is a more sterile environment and one does NOT have control over the situation. Remember all the dust in Jessa's house? I doubt if her bedroom where she delivered had been sterilized. There is no control over situations as there is no immediate back up equipment or personnel readily available, if needed. Another thing to note that babies were delivered at home decades ago because medical technology wasn't what it is today. Also a large number of delivering mothers and babies died as a result of no treatment being available or near enough to them. That's a good reason to have moved childbirth to a medical facility.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. My grandmother died after giving birth at home in 1929. My mother was 1. Yes women gave birth at home because they usually didn't have a choice. To say that home births are safer is a very broad generalization with no basis in fact. Also to address the comment that hospitals don't clean anymore; seriously?

      Delete
  76. Jill, I really hope you get proper, timely medical attention with this delivery. You have another very large baby. A planned c-section would be safer and healthier for the baby and for you than an emergency c-section after 70 hours of unproductive labor.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. A close friend of mine was adamant and immovable that she was going to have a natural delivery, regardless of her doctor's advice. Needless to say, she ended up with a very high risk Emergency C-Section. It is alarming how women allow themselves to be divided into camps- Natural Childbirth/Home Birth vs. Hospital Birth or vice versa. They've made Hospital Birth some kind of a sin and Natural Childbirth/Home Birth a badge of honor, the measure of a woman's worth. Ladies, the point is to do whatever it takes to birth a healthy baby. It's far more traumatizing for the baby (as well as you and your loved ones) to force an Emergency C-Section because you're standing on your "principles". I'd rather sacrifice my "principles" than my baby.

  77. I find it curious that Jill has approached this pregnancy completely different than her first one....not much internet posting, nor do we know what her birth plan is. She was quite vocal about it with Izzy. I hope she learned a few things from that one.

  78. I like it! Samuel Scott. They could him Sam or Scotty, hence his middle name Scott. Good choice! Cant wait for the new season!

  79. Samuel Scott is an excellent name choice! Strong, Biblical, meaningful to them, easy to spell and pronounce for others as they grow and go, easy to derive a variety of endearing nicknames, and not so "individualistic" as to target him for teasing and bullying along the way. Nicely done, Jill and Derrick!
