  5. Happy third anniversary Jill & Derick - I so enjoy following your life so far.
I wish you the best with the delivery of baby boy #2.
BTW I had our second son ON my third anniversary - way back on Oct 19, 1966.

Little Israel is an adorable little boy.

All the best to all of you

  6. Boy, Derick looked like a different man when he married Jill. Young, carefree and hopeful. Sorry to say that he has gone through a terrible time and he needs to come forward and explain really what happened to him, especially that very frightening photo of he and Jill back in Central America that everyone was shocked to see.

    1. You need to stop with the negative comments and move on.Why do you care about Derick appearance? You character is very rude.

      Delete
    2. Why does Derrick need to "come forward and explain really what happened to him?" What businesss is it of anyone's except his families? I truly don't understand. People think that because they're "fans," they have a right to know everything about a person. You don't!
      Be well Derrick!

      Delete
    3. 4:28 If Derick's appearance is such a concern to you then the wise thing to do is pray for him. He doesn't need to "come forward" about anything.

      Delete
    4. WHY is the negative comments being allowed here on their site in the first place?

      Delete
    5. EXACTLY!! We all know it's not "allergies." Something happened during his palette expansion surgery. Perhaps a nerve was cut? That happens--it's rare, but it can happen. In turn, the patient experiences a TON of pain.

I mean...we all can see that he has braces. We can see that his teeth are misaligned. We can see that he doesn't look as vibrant as he did when he first appeared on the show. What gives, man? Why is this never addressed?

      Delete
    6. yet another troll on a duggar fan site - i really believe the left pays these people to come on conservative or /and christian sites and be negative - sad!

      Delete
    7. I think it is never properly addressed because it keeps people talking, just look at the comments here and on other posts. Keeping viewers interested helps keep the show going, what else is there grocery shopping or kids birthday parties its turning into a snoozefest! Also Nunya this isn't 'their site' this fan blog is independantly run by Lily and Ellie and they do a very good job of choosing posts to keep it interesting, unlike the show.

    8. server food allergies or even micro bug virus and as well the palette expansion surgery derrick had a couple yrs ago. derrick needs more deeper testing as to real reason why is so painfully thin looking. even before he and jill even got married he looked too thin and rather sick unhealthly looking. both should to have both childern tested for any unknown allergies which are proven tobe deadly for some groups. again this writen is not by a long shot as profane, insulting, derogatory, or in poor taste on the bottom of this blog

      Delete
    9. LOL Betty, that is THE FUNNIEST thing I have read all day! Unless you are serious about "the left pays these people (to comment on blogs)". If so, let us know who is paying out. I can use the extra money!!

      Delete
    10. Interesting fact: "palette" is the board that an artist uses for mixing paint colors. The word for the roof of the mouth is "palate," which is what you all are discussing here. And a "pallet" is a wood frame used for moving larger items.

    11. Anonymous 3:56 PM -- While I doubt there are paid bots commenting on this Duggar website, it's a fact that certain political factions use bots to comment on political articles in mass numbers. It's a political tactic intended to sway public opinion.

      Delete
    12. I am aware of that too, Anon 11:12. Not sure what that has to do with the Duggars or this post though. That's why I found the accusation so funny!

  7. Jill, You are a timeless beauty! I honestly bet, out of all the Duggar sisters you will be the most beautiful when you all get old. You are just a natural pretty girl! Derrick, you are starting to look like yourself again, who is a good looking guy. As a couple, you two are the real deal. I hope your marriage is blessed! Happy Anniversary!!

    1. I agree - Jill is a radiant young woman.
What little we see of them (always edited) We still can see they have a truly loving relationship and great senses of humor.
They deserve praise for their mission work.
I wish them all the best in their future.

      Delete
    2. I appreciate their mission work too. I have friends who are missionaries in Central America. The churches there that partner with other foreign mission organizations appreciate help.
The Bible says, "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." This is so true.

  8. They should have taken a cruise. They are affordable and they could see something new. Or visit an adoption center! Did Jill say she wanted to adopt or foster a child?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. What adoption center or foster program is going to give another child to a pregnant mother or one with 2 kids age 2 and under? It's time for the Duggars (the daughters) to either stop having biological children and actually do an adoption or a fostering, or stop talking about it like it's going to happen.

      Delete
    2. Many, many people have biological Children prior to adopting or fostering Mrs. Negative Nancy. This couple is entitled to do the same.

      Delete
    3. YOU ARE WRONG. I adopted to little girls (sisters) AFTER I had four biological children and they ALL thrived. However I do agree they should wait a couple of years to do so. . . there is generally a wait period.

      Delete
    4. You seemed to have missed the point of the 8:46 post. There's a big difference between adopting after a waiting period and adopting while you're pregnant or when you recently gave birth. Jessa and Jill seem to be in a pattern of constantly being pregnant or having young babies in the home, so when adoption would ever fit into that pattern remains to be seen.

      Delete
    5. Jill didn't say she wanted to adopt is was Jessa that said she wanted to adopted a kid or 2.

      Delete
    6. Jill has said so in the past, and when they visited the orphanage in Central America.

      Delete
    7. They won't qualify with little earned income, no permanent residence and always leaving the country.
They need to focus on the family they have first.

      Delete
    8. Anon @9:59, they each only have 2 children, or are about to have 2, so it's not like they are constantly pregnant or have babies in the home. Gee, cut them some slack. Maybe they want to have biological children first while they're young, and then adopt when they're a little older. It's all their decision. No right or wrong here.

      Delete
    9. Those "only 2" children came in the first 2 years, you have to remember that. I'd call that constantly pregnant or with babies.

  9. Happy 3rd Anniversary Jill and Derick. I hope you had a wonderful mini vacation. Prayers for a safe delivery with your second son. Eileen

  11. My goodness how did us old folks survive without "babymoons"? Maybe we just called it getting away for a couple of days

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Life wasn't that simple then, 6:35. We didn't get a TV show paycheck and donations to fund a job we could walk away from whenever we had something better to do. We were too busy working Monday to Friday, and sometimes weekends too, to get away on any kind of "moon."

      Delete
    2. Guess they are more blessed than you. Jealousy is not a very becoming quality.

      Delete
    3. We see what.. 12-16 hour shift of Ann entire year of the Duggars and that is enough to allow us to identify how they spend every waking moment? You (or I) have no clue what they do off camera. So hateful and judgmental. And uncalled for for.

      Delete
    4. I work Monday through Friday. And often Saturdays. I also have 4 children- and we were blessed enough to have family keep our kids prior to each of our children being born. Sorry your family was more invested in you and your husband. You missed out. Glad Jill and Derek have a better support system.

      Delete
    5. I never even had what you would call a honeymoon. Married on a Saturday, moved into the new apt. on a Sunday, husband went back to work on Monday (military). You did what you had to do. Had our first baby when he was deployed with 3 months left to go before he could return. So I guess he took our "babymoon" with the other guys? The Duggars don't ever acknowledge how cushy they have it compared to everyone else.

      Delete
    6. Wow how jealous can you be. What the family does are their business not yours.

      Delete
    7. It's certainly the business of the Dillard Family Ministry donors, if this time off and this babymoon was taken at their expense.

      Delete
    8. Then don't donate. Now you no longer have to fret. Gosh.. that was rocket science.

      Delete
    9. 7:07, that is excellent advice to everyone.

  12. I love Jill's dress. The closest any of them have come to being sleeveless. It looks so classic too. Just really pretty!

    1. Her wedding dress was PERFECT - not too fairytale/princess style. . . .it was lovely, just as Jill is a lovely person.

      Delete
    2. 8:22 pm. I loved Jill's dress too, but I think Jessa's dress was actually truly sleeveless, with just straps going over the shoulders.

      Delete
    3. Oooops, actually you are correct 8:22 pm...Jill's was more sleeveless. I just looked at Jessa's dress again, and it had more sleeve than what I remembered. My apologies.

  16. My husband & I went away before baby's birth thanks to grandparents babysitting!! That was 30-40 years ago. Everything these days has to have a new title!! Baby bump is the worst of all!! Regardless, I hope Jill & Derrick relaxed & enjoyed the lull before the storm😄

    1. When I had my kids, I was too tired and too cumbersome to go away, even for a few days, prior to the births. I was maximizing my time with my existing children, to prepare them for the addition to the family, and gathering my strength for the labor. We had work and other considerations. My husband also wanted to maximize his time helping me after the birth with the baby. Taking a vacation prior to the birth, even a long weekend, was the last thing we would have done! Moreover,my family had their own responsibilities. I would have not impose of them, including grandparents.

Jill is only having her second and she is surrounded by potential mother"s helpers, including the father who does not have a 9-to-5 job.

    2. Those were your choices. Not everyone has to do the same thing. Keeping your marriage strong during the years of having babies is extremely important. The sleep deprivation and exhaustion always puts a strain on a marriage. I think they are very wise to have the time away before welcoming a new baby. I wish that my husband and I had done that. You can't truly ever prepare a child for a new baby. They just don't have the capacity to understand how it will affect them. Children will grow up and move away, but your spouse won't. Making a marriage a priority will always pay off.

  18. Happy Anniversary Jill and Derick! I love your little Israel and am excited for your little boy next month! You guys are such a wonderful Christian family example for the world. It amazes me how wonderful and patient you are in Central America and at home! Happy 3 years, hope for many more to come!

  19. Right on, 9:18...I agree with you completely.

  20. I believe that there are no 'haters' on this site. I don't agree with everything this family believes and lives, but I hate no one. A difference of opinion and lifestyle is NOT hating. Having said that, I believe that we are genuinely concerned about Derick. He obviously had something major happen to him and like an earlier poster said, he has a platform to educate and inform others out there who may be experiencing the same type of symptoms yet don't have the medical accessibility and finances to see specialist physicians about it. HE has an opportunity to help many out there. They also accept a lot of money from their public life, therefore, they do have a responsibility to be accountable about many, many things....that they refuse to be accountable about. I am a Christian person, and I don't agree with everything about this family, but I hate no one. Please stop accusing people of hating and exercise YOUR Christian opportunity to turn the other cheek and be accepting of others as you expect to be.

    1. You make some good points.

      Delete
    2. I respectfully disagree. They are accountable to each other and God, not a fan site. They are praying people. If they are led to share I am certain they will be obedient, until then... it's no ones business. And as far as accepting a lot of money from their public life.. again that's their choice. If people are not ok with that then they shouldn't donate to their ministry or watch the show.

  25. Jill, Your dress was the loveliest of all. Especially seeing the whole thing, it is gorgeous! It isn't overly done, but rather simply beautiful! You look like a bridal dress model, in your wedding photo. Your makeup is perfect! You looked stunning!

  26. Happy belated anniversary.
Hope you enjoyed the celebration and preparation for the new addition is going well.
Hope you are able to settle in for a bit and save up before traveling again.
I also hope patience and mutual respect within family is developed while growing as couples.
Sometimes it is best to agree to disagree and just walk away. Family should always come before who is right.
