Duggars Return This Summer

The Counting On season finale aired last Monday, and fans are eager to see new footage of the Duggars, Seewalds, Dillards, Vuolos, and Forsyths. (Joy-Anna Duggar is now engaged to Austin Forsyth and will soon be Joy-Anna Forsyth. The couple has not made their wedding date public, but when they do, we will share it.)

Don't worry, the next season of Counting On is set to premiere this summer (stay tuned for a date), and in the meantime, we will continue sharing daily updates with all of you on our blog.

What can you expect when new episodes return to TLC? There will be plenty of excitement as Austin becomes a bigger part of Joy's life, asks Jim Bob Duggar for permission to pop the question, and executes a romantic proposal.

Meanwhile, Jill and Derick Dillard share their pregnancy news with Israel Dillard. (Their second son is due in July.)

Spurgeon Seewald celebrates his first birthday, and at 15 months old, he becomes a big brother to Henry Wilberforce Seewald.

Down in Laredo, Texas, newlyweds Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo share details of their new life together. Click here to watch the promo video for the upcoming season.

  1. I think it is time to end the series, and just to with specials about specific events instead. Once Joy is married and Jill has her baby, there isn't a lot for the show to focus on until one of the boys chooses to court. I'm assuming that only those in "Counting On" are being paid, so while it's a nice revenue stream I think that single eps would do better as interest would be higher.

    1. There are a lot of viewers who disagree. Feel free to stop watching at any time. No one is forcing you.

    2. I completely disagree, as there are many believers who love having a Crist centered, wholesome show. I can speak for many, that coming home to a new episode is the highlight of every week. I am so thankful that Counting On is still on. It has brought me closer to Christ and I (along with many others) am looking forward to next season and the many seasons to come!!

    3. That's a really good idea, I've not thought of it before. It would make sense.

    4. Yes! It would be more special if occasional episodes. Some of these episodes have been so terribly boring.

    6. Agree. It's the same old same old! Courtship, engagement, marriage, babies, repeat. Boring.

    7. I have been a weekly viewer since the beginning and I have to say that the show isn't really as "Christ centered" as it was. I wish that People magazine wasn't so prominent when a special event comes up in the family.

    8. I disagree as well! Counting On is one of my favorite shows!

    11. I love counting on. Good clean program with a family who have good values. A lot better than most of the junk on TV these days. I'll watch them for a long as they are recording. Love it.

    1. Josh has not been on any episodes so rest easy. And if the time ever comes then you can change the channel.

    2. Life is not about changing channels whenever anything unpleasant pops up. Life is about standing against things that are wrong and doing something (or at the very least saying something) about them.

      Delete
    3. That is not what life is about at all. Life is about surrounding yourself with like minded people for encouragement and love. If you don't agree with a show it is easy to change the channel. We should not try and make all shows the same because people are not the same. I don't watch the Kardashians because I don't believe in their morales. I watch the Duggars, even if Josh was on, because they are good moral God Loving people. They are a family that went through a major problem and it would have been nice to see how God got them through. I try and live God first in my life but this family has it down. We need more TV like them and less Jersey Shore and Kardashians.

    4. Don't judge others because their sin is not yours.
The Bible says we are to pick those who are fallen, not
destroy them. He is forgiven! Get over yourself. He should be on this series as he is as much a christian as anyone else.

  7. Since this show will return in the summer, it is imperative that TLC understand that we do NOT want or NEED to see ANY OLD FOOTAGE and recaps of what we just saw before a commercial break. This is far behind real time as it is and we don't need time on the air being wasted.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Nor do they need to continually leak the footage for months, until the show is on and we've already seen everything even remotely interesting that they have in the promos.

      Delete
    2. Maybe it's important that they repeat themselves a few times during the show, so the fans catch it all and remember it. A lot can happen during the long commercial breaks for their other shows!

    1. Yep, that's why. TLC uploads some of their videos to YouTube (usually several days late). If we see it on there, we will post the link. :)

  16. Looking forward to Joy and Austin's courtship!!!! They seem more like Jim Bob and Michelle than any of the other couples therefore we are really liking them and excited to watch their courtship! Just wish TLC would stop giving into the haters and let the entire family be on the show! Especially Jim Bob and Michelle! It is time for everyone, including Josh and family, to be back and featured on the show. We love ALL the DUGGARS!!

  20. Thanks for the updates. I have a couple of questions about the Duggar's as it relates to children. I know that Jim Bob and Michelle, trusted God for their children, but as Christian's ( non-Catholics) are any of them against birth control? Do all of the husbands of the Duggar girls, desire to have a large family? I ask because it seems like the sweet young ladies, marry, and then shortly after are expecting. Is it not ok, to desire to know their spouse as they are in a newly cohabitation situation, learning each other emotionally, and physically. I am Christian, and that time with my husband was so valuable to our relationship. I am definitely not judging , I'm just curious.

    1. Howdy Ma'am, the Duggars themselves have stated that they do not believe in using birth control of any kind. I've seen both Ben and Derek express the same views as the Duggar family. As far as a large family, I cannot be sure other than Ben who has said he wants upwards of 15 kids. As for your last question I'll have to answer it with a question: Do you trust that God is in control and knows all things and therefore is able to know when you and your husband are ready to expand your family? If we put our full trust in the Lord then we should not be afraid of children, God does not give us things we cannot handle. I believe that if you are open and honest without barriers and worries that the time of getting to know your spouse after saying "I Do" will be all the more effective. Sure it might end up being a shorter experience, but the Lord knows far better than I what is best. I hope this comes off as helpful and not in any way judgemental of your own experiences.

      God bless you.

      Delete
    2. Yes, some Christians, like the Duggars, are against most forms of birth control because it is too close to their beliefs about abortion/murder for them to practice with a clean conscience. There are 1 or 2 preventative measures that some may choose.

      Delete
    3. I don't understand how some sort of birth control - even abstinence - doesn't cross their minds. At some point you have to ask yourself if you really have the time and the resources and the health to have more children. It's not fair to the children if it's your own desire to focus on quantity, while you're sacrificing quality. Michelle is lucky to be alive after some of the things that happened to her, I feel.

      Delete
    4. Latha- Of course birth control is ok. Religion should not pressure couples to leave the number of children they have "up to God." (Euphemism for no birth control.) You sound like you have a very common sense approach to the matter. Nothing wrong with getting to know your new spouse before bringing children into the world.

      Delete
    5. To 1:15 Michelle looks better than most women i know that have only had 2 or 3 children. I myself only had 3 and wish I wouldn't have trusted all those lies about how big families weren't the thing to do. I am now far past the child-bearing years and understand better about letting God decide.

      Delete
    6. Texas- "If we put our full trust in the Lord then we should not be afraid of children, God does not give us things we cannot handle." Your statement does cast an element of judgment because it suggests that people who use birth control do not trust in God. The simple truth is that not everyone wants to have children. some want to limit the size of their family, and some should never have children at all, for a variety of reasons. This is where sensible family planning comes in.

  21. I think this show is more about the paycheck and nothing else. I don't watch it for that reason but like to see what malarkey comes is put on the blog's. It's just weddings, engagement, or new baby news. Where are the mission trips.

  22. I like Austin he seems mature for his age and the way he asked jim Bob to court and to be engaged to joy shows his bravery! He is a go getter!

    1. ❣Regarding updating those new addition baby pictures in the
banner...if you're always waiting few months for the next one, seems you'll always be behind...how about a second banner for the grandchildren with names....cause we know who they belong with.
Maybe easier to update maybe every 6 months.....❣

      Delete
    2. I agree Anon 6:33

A separate header should be used for grandchildren.

If the banner continues as it does the younger Duggar children will never be seen again because there will be no room.

Suggestion: Post a "Family" picture in place of Single or Couple Picture once children begin to arrive.

  23. I do hope TLC has a better approach with the new season.
The series is less enjoyable with all the flash backs and silly questions to siblings. I'm finding them put on the spot is insulting especially when they are unfamiliar with word's, action or terms.
I am a strong believer in home schooling but if one hasn't been introduced to topics, different cultures and foods it provides a narrow view of life. These kids are being put on the spot with no life line. As a viewer it's disappointing to see them treated that way. It just looks like TLC is making profit at their expense.

  28. Calm down. This is good Godly family that has issues like EVERY family on this earth. With 19 kids there is probably more to come. The main issue is they are all believers and show us that God should be #1 in our lives. Love this show
