Duggar Wedding 5.0

As the Duggars prepare to celebrate yet another wedding for another Duggar daughter, we figured it would be an great time to share the remainder of the photos (click here to view the previously posted snapshots) that we received from Renee Miller, the talented woman who designed Jinger Duggar's wedding dress. Who's looking forward to seeing the style that Joy-Anna Duggar chooses for her bridal gown?

These pictures were taken on the day Jinger and her sisters, mom, and mother-in-law met Renee Miller in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They met at Ava Laurenne Bride, a wedding dress shop owned by Wendy, the mutual friend who introduced Renee and Jinger. If you missed our series on "Designing Jinger Duggar's Wedding Dress," you can catch up here.

For those who haven't heard, a brand new season of Counting On premieres this summer. We know you all are looking forward to seeing Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth's wedding and watching Joseph Duggar court Kendra Caldwell.

  1. Bet joy will have an outdoor wedding. It will probably be pretty casual but beautiful.

  2. That's awesome! Ms. Renee is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside 😁

    1. You are clever. So true. I don't get it. It was just a dress.

    2. It's concerning to me how much importance is placed on an article of clothing. I understand it's a special dress for a special day, but enough is enough. Modesty is about more than just exposed/unexposed skin.

  4. I've watched The Duggars for many years when you were just "specials" on news programs. I can't believe how quickly these kids are getting married and starting families of their own (y'all are making me feel old!!! Ha ha ha). Congratulations to you all.

Cannot wait to see the dress they design for Joy Anna!

    1. Why can't Joy buy one off the rack? Or used, and save the difference?

      Delete
    2. Because it's her and Austin's wedding. She has saved money therefore she can afford a new dress.

      Delete
    3. "Off the rack" is a new dress. It just means you buy one already designed & place your order for your size.

    4. Joy probably just wants the same experience that Jinger had. I mean she was pretty front and center through the process. 😊

      Delete
    5. I wonder if part or all of the wedding dress is paid for because they let them film the whole thing? Jingers dress was amazing.

      Delete
    6. This will be her only wedding dress and if she can afford to have the dress made for her, why not. I would also suggest that you have a look at what is on those racks. There's few dresses that are modest. I watch Say Yes to The Dress and I am shocked at what passes for a dress suitable to wear in a church. 😊

    7. Where I live, we are very blessed to have a nice Thrift store where we regularly see gorgeous, modest $500-$2000 wedding dresses for $25-$50. Of course you have to add the cost of dry cleaning, but it's still a huge savings. The proceeds from the sale support Christian missions and disaster relief efforts worldwide. Win-Win! Yes, you are only going to do this once (hopefully), but you can still do it affordably, have it be special, and put the difference in savings toward a house, and Emergency Fund, or for the first baby.

    8. Not every wedding is a Church wedding@7:19. Besides since The Lord created the female form He certainly is not shocked by it. Any dress can be a wedding dress. Or you don't even need a dress. My grandmother was married in a pant suit. Didn't affect their very long, very happy marriage at all.

    10. You can take any already-made wedding dress and make it modest with the addition of fabric or lace in the right places. I'm surprised you haven't seen this on Yes, because they've done it many times.

    11. Ok. So it's the brides choice of what to wear for her wedding. The dress is to make her feel beautiful. It's not for the longevity of the union or for the guests or even the groom. My parents were married in a country church and in blue jeans and have been married for 48 years this April. Again it's all up to and for the bride. Just saying.

    1. But there's always the friend who will blog that she can't say where she's going that day because it's a secret, but it's very exciting and will require the whole family to dress up and travel to Arkansas...

They already had someone on social media say that he was sorry he wouldn't be in town for the wedding, and gave the dates that he would be in town.

    2. This is always what they seem to do about big news to string along viewers. Eg instead of just saying a new baby's name when it's born, they wait until it can be on the cover of a magazine. They also seem to do this in short videos that they always post where they don't really answer the question about if anyone is courting. Seems strange to me.

  12. Joy seems very down to earth so her dress will be pretty yet not over the top. My guess she will be a beautiful June bride.

  14. I am very excited to see Joy's wedding dress. She so much different than the other sisters, I bet it will be very different than the rest. I also thought with their love of the outdoors that they may choose an outdoor venue, it depends on the time of year they choose, and the chances of bad weather to deal with, and have an option # 2. But I am VERY excited to see Joy's wedding, I love her for her uniqueness, and in a big family I think you need that some times ! God Bless the couple !

    3. The age of consent is 18 in Arkansas and Joy Anna will be 20 in October. Younger perhaps than your average bride, but there is no magic age where everyone suddenly becomes old enough for marriage. Each person and relationship is different and Joy seems pretty mature for her age.

    4. She's an adult...why would her Dad have to allow it? My husband and I were 19...and we will be celebrating 40 years this fall.

    1. That is very sweet of you Kim. We need more people like you in this world.

    2. It's a dress you wear one time, for maybe 12 hours. Most people make too big of a deal over weddings these days. The money they spend could put a down payment on a house, buy a car (or three), go towards paying off student loans, or be saved for retirement. Instead, they feel they need a "dream" day with almost a theatrical production. Then they stress over all the details, or pay even more to have a professional handle them. It's gotten ridiculous.

Joy should break the mold and get married in a simple dress, in the back yard of the house, with a low-key wedding. It's almost become a competition with those sisters, to see how each wedding can be bigger and more over-the-top. Jinger's was the worst so far, with those thousands of flowers and thousands of pearls and thousands of people. Enough already. If Joy doesn't scale way back, I'll be disappointed.

    3. Weddings are not dreams, they are reality.

      Delete
    4. The wedding is really supposed to be about the commitments you're making to each other and the vows you're making before God (if you're a Christian). Generally speaking, couples spend way more time and attention planning the wedding than the marriage. A wedding is one day; the marriage is a lifetime.

    1. I don't understand why the Duggar girls had to travel all the way to VA to buy a dress. Because no bridal salon in Arkansas is wholesome enough for the Duggars? What's the deal? You're the owner, so you're the one who can explain this very valid question that's been around since Jill got married.

    5. Marilyn R - Let's just say that someone had his eyes and heart on her and was devastated when the Courtship was announced.

      Delete
    6. How can you have your "eyes and heart" set on someone you never met? You know these girls only marry people they've been introduced to through family or have been around all their lives.

      Delete
    7. Super James, as you have never even met Joy Anna, I don't see how you could have expected her to return a crush on her. You don't have a personal relationship with her, so your obsession is a little creepy!

      Delete
    8. Anon. 10:01 - Well, I was hoping and praying that God would allow me to meet them one day; and it was Joy personally who got my hopes up.

Anon. 1:15 - I may not have known her in person, yet seeing her and her family gave me a sensation of peace and, ironically joy; to the point that I considered them as my unofficial "second family". They've made such an impact on me that I've decided to carry several of their Rules into my household.
I'm only "obsessed" with her because she's part of a family I wish I could be a part of. My desperation to make that become a reality is what makes it appear creepy.

  25. Why do you always type their last names?? We ALL KNOW their a Digger or their married names. We also ALL KNOW the children's names. No need to always write their last names. 1. I think we could say Jana represents those women who do not marry early and are in the group that wait longer. They face challenges in the waiting. Most often we do not know why some some have to wait, maybe even quite a long time. Jana is not alone. Many women will understand how it is to be the odd one out with the masses wondering why it hasn't happened to her.
