  1. What is under his left eye? Looks like a tick! Yikes.

    1. I'm gonna say it's a freckle, piece of food, or a scab... I don't think anyone would leave or not notice a tick on their babies eye. Sounds like you don't have kids and you don't know how messy they get when they eat it's pointless to wipe them until they're done. Also they get scabs in the weirdest places.

    2. Please. Don't be ridiculous.

    3. It's the blue part of the stroller.

    4. It sure looks like a scab or something else attached firmly at that very sensitive part of the face. If it were food, someone would have removed it. What Mom doesn't say hold still, you have something on your face?

    5. That's not part of the stroller. That's a scab or a blood blister or something weird.

  2. They have Vlasic brand pickles in Central America? Or did the film crew bring them?

  3. I don't think that's very nice, putting something sour in your baby's mouth just to get the reaction on camera.

  4. why is that: @Date Nights & Bright Lights is currently unavailable in Bulgaria.@ - trying to watch on TLC full episodes but NO! where can we watch it?

  5. That's not a happy face on poor Israel. Kind of mean, making him taste something he doesn't want. Not to mention he could choke.

    1. You can't really tell whether he likes it from a single picture. The first time my daughter tasted ice cream (at around a year old) she made a terrible face after every bite at first but kept opening her mouth for more. The pickle is an unfamiliar taste for Israel but one grimace doesn't mean he doesn't like it. As for choking, Jill us right there and he'said really just gumming it not taking off big chunks.

  6. Lots of people - if not the majority - like and eat pickles. That's why they're a thing. It is not a unique or special trait that Duggar family members enjoy pickles.

    1. The Duggars talk about pickles like they are the only ones who like them.

  7. It seems they are running out of story lines..trying a pickle and going out for coffee (they've done that several times..)

  8. This eating the first pickle is old and has been shown awhile back.

  9. He's got that look like "why are you making me do this, mum?!".
    Cutie pie.

  10. Looks kind of dangerous letting a small child chew on a pickle.

  11. Ellie - do you have any information on why Derrick looks so rough in recent pictures? He really does look like something is wrong or he is very underweight? Any information or could you do a blog post about it. Thanks.

    1. I think he is covering up his jaw with the beard. He had surgery and they broke his jaw.

  12. It was probably a fly or something that showed up for that one shot

  13. From the photo, little Israel doesn't appear to be enjoying the taste of a pickle. Perhaps when he's older his taste for pickle may change. I'd say the odds are in his favor.

  14. Actually this isn't his first pickle. There was a post several months ago when he was only like 5-6 months old chewing on a pickle. Why embellish the truth on something so trivial?

    1. He was wearing the same outfit in that other post & picture, I think, so it must have been Pickle Day that day, only delayed for the TV version.

    2. Believe it or not it's the same pickle. They just showed it now on tlc . you know how tlc takes its time to air something from the Duggars

    3. If you watch both videos you will realize that they are the same. This was filmed several months ago. They are not lying or embellishing

    4. And that post had the same video. It's just that now they showed the clip on the tv show. Why so quick to accuse?

    5. It`s the same video-TLC is just showing it as part of their show, so it really IS his first pickle:).

  15. You do realize that they actually filmed this months ago, right? They put the video on their blog when it happened. It is the same video that they played on the show last night.

  16. Derrick looks very unhealthy to me; I hope he's okay. He appears gaunt and his eyes kind of listless🙁. Izzy doesn't appear particularly healthy either. Kind of pale and lacking spirit in his eyes. Could it be lack of nutrients for both?

    1. Derick looks like he's had to have pain pills after that surgery, for who knows how long. They can do a number on your looks and appetite.

I did notice he's talking just a little bit better than before. Not as good as he should, but his S's aren't as slurred as they were. I hope that surgery was successful. Probably won't know for quite awhile.

    2. Derick has always been skinny though: it's his structure and I don't think he's into sport as much as Ben, for example.

  17. Ok, I'm sooooo tired of the negative comments on peoples looks, what they wear, how much make-up,how short or long their skirt is...when oh when are some of y'all going to quit being so trivial and leave them alone or post your picture and see how it feels to be ridiculed innsessively. Can we all just play nice, grow up and be more Christian like for a change...good golllly.
