Photos: Wedding Dress Shopping with Jill

Take a look at the various dresses Jill Duggar (now Jill Dillard) modeled while shopping for her wedding dress at Ava Laurenne Bride on this week's episode of 19 Kids and Counting. Jill received the bridal shop's Princess Treatment package, which costs $500.

  1. I'm happy she found a dress but slightly disappointed, as a felow Arkansan, that she did not shop locally. We have several bridal salons to choose from. As a state that seems to always struggle financialy, our residents really should focus on shopping locally. As small business owners and frugality, I honestly would have thought the duggars would do this. Love the dress, though!

  3. Was there a budget for dress? Do brides parents pay for most of wedding?

  4. If she has an extra $500 for a princess treatment... she sure aint living in reality nor can the average person identify with that. They arent so much a testimony any more. She sounds like a spoiled tv star.

    1. Sounds like some are a little envious, jealousy is not becoming of ones self.

  6. I like the dress she picked out. It looked very nice on her. I thought her family reading their thoughts to Jill was very touching. Can't wait to Jill ' s wedding and Her sister's wedding also.

  12. My favorite dress is the sixth picture featuring the dresses. I hope it is the one she chose, it looks similar. She looked stunning in it.
The rest of family looks beautiful too. I loved Jana's outfit. So cute and dressy. She is such a classy girl!

  13. These are lovely pictures. Jill is the real picture of purity. However I know every woman who is marrying is entering into a pure relationship and is made righteous and sanctified by the Lord Jesus and his love to shed his blood for al of our sins.

  14. The previous video 'Advice for Moms and Daughters' really spoke (words by Priscilla) to the young women who are not yet in relationships when she described her heart responding to some men who would not be intended for her and when she talked about waiting for God's best for her. In the photos here we see Jana and Jinger and they are still keeping pure for God's choice for them. That day will come and all the blessings will be theirs then. Meanwhile they get the special fun of being a blessing to the bride of the day. There is no reason for people to project the idea that the other girls who are not the centre of attention are 'sad' about it. That is not true they look happy for their sister here they way they should be. It would spoil their chance to be in this position if they could only think of themselves and begrudge the attention a sibling is getting. Jana is not a jealous, sullen, self centred person who broods over her sisters lives as they are being fulfilled. Live and let live.

  16. How much was her wedding dress?

    1. It most likely would have been given to her in return for the free publicity the shop received. Most reality shows work that way.

  18. Which dress did she pick? Anyone know?

  19. The idea that others can't afford princess treatment as mentioned in these comments lacks imagination. All I saw in the video was a group of women sitting in a circle and talking. Any group of sisters, family, friends could put on a princess party to honor a bride to be. They just have to use their imaginations and be creative. It looked like a lot of fun and a blessing, that is all that it is meant to be. It is not just a privilege only afforded by the wealthy. Let's learn and be imitators of them that are good!

  20. Bringing a film crew and over a thousand people to Arkansas likely benefits the economy.

  21. Don't forget that the rings were purchased locally.

  22. I have to agree that the Duggars are slipping into a different mode. How many girls in this economy can even afford a brand new wedding dress? Christian values tend to go out the window when parents want "the best for their children".

  23. Yes, thanks for asking. We would like to know if the Duggars were comped the cost of the wedding dress, etc., to feature this salon on the show. The same goes for everything else wedding related...

  24. there is finally one video on you tube of the show you do not have to pay for friends. Was able to watch Sunday evening and was so special to see all the girls with their mom on that special day shopping.

  25. I was just wondering what was all included in that $500.00 princess treatment. Hair, make-up and tea... I hope by committing to a dress they got a discount!

  26. @Homestead Photography

    Hi Homestead Photography,

YouTube/TLC have started to actively remove the newest episodes from YouTube soon after they are posted, and TLC recently asked us not to post the links to those episodes. (We are not the ones who upload the episodes to YouTube; that is done by other viewers.) For readers in North America, the episodes can be purchased individually on iTunes and Amazon.

Thanks for understanding! We are blessed to have you as a reader.

  27. @AnonymousYeah, they must have been. Out of character to travel all that way just for a dress when they are usually touted as so frugal. It was a nice way to include Anna in the process though.

  28. @AnonymousYeah, I love Jana. I don't know why people think she's unhappy. I think when she gets married she will have a very private ceremony...even though it will be the one wedding everybody would be most interested in!

  29. Lily and Elli, how can I contact you personally? Thank you for what you do! God bless.
