Something Old, Something New...

"We have tons of stuff...at the shop. Maybe we should just so something old and something old and something old and something old."
-Jana Duggar

In this preview of tonight's new episode of Counting On, Jana Duggar and Jessa Seewald come up with a theme for a "gift basket" that all the siblings can contribute to for Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth as their wedding day approaches.

    1. Hi Neddy,

Glad you enjoy our blogs! Be sure to check out Ellie's personal blog, as well (NashvilleWife.com).

To answer your question, no new courtships have been announced. As soon as there is an announcement to make, we will post it here.

  3. Where is "at the shop" she mentions? Whose shop? Does Jana work at a shop? HAVE a shop?? (Can't get the video to play.)

    1. Unfortunately, they called their jumbled messy warehouse a "shop," and that's where they got the junk from.

    2. She means one of the Duggar's other properties, it's like a warehouse or big work"shop".

  4. It will be so neat to see Jana in a courtship whenever that happens. She will be so mature and ready. She is a great model for so he ladies. Waiting on the Lord, but at the same time living life and honouring God and where he has placed her.

  6. That shed was an embarrassment of riches. All that stuff thrown in there haphazardly, left for the kids to climb over. What are they doing storing all that stuff anyway? They could donate it to people in need (the way the Duggars supposedly used to be). They could hold another yard sale and give the money to charity. They could just clean it out and take the useless stuff across the street to the dump! Leaving it heaped like that shows no respect for anything. I'm surprised they let the place be shown.

    1. Many people have sheds filled with junk, but never does anything about it. I wouldn't stress over it.

    2. Maybe they showed it so it can be showed as a recap in a later episode where they clean it out. That would be my guess at least.

    3. That was no "shed filled with junk," that was a warehouse! An airplane hangar! A Duggar-sized pile of unnecessary stuff!

    4. Anon 10:38 - Don't you think there is a difference between a shed or garage full of stuff and a warehouse full of stuff?

    5. Unknown, I never watched the clip so I didn't see what it looked like. I just assumed it was shed.

    6. The Duggars are just ordinary people living their lives on tv....let’s come over to your place and see your garage and closets. My guess is they aren’t in perfect order either. From the outside looking in we can judge what we see....it’s their stuff and they can store it any way they choose.

    7. Ordinary people living their lives on tv? Lol Ordinary people don't live their lives on tv, we live private lives.

    8. Well, I only have two closets to store things in, but they're both fairly neat, with most boxes clearly labelled. Things stored under our beds are boxed as well. I *may* have one box in my parents' basement which is labelled as well (although I think I brought it home last year and went through it for save/donate/trash). They have a warehouse full of stuff, not a closet or a garage. Warehouse.

    9. More people, more stuff. Hence the need for a warehouse.

    10. Whether they are on TV or not, they are still human with ordinary things going on in their lives. Having a warehouse full of stuff (especially with their size family) is not a big deal. They are not perfect.

  7. AGREE 9:54. There's no excuse for a mess like that. They have adult kids at home who could get that place cleaned out and organized. I could only imagine the rodents that would be happy to make that place their home!

  8. I would not like to have something that was hauled out of a shed that was useless. I agree that JEssa does seem a little ungrateful for some of her wedding gifts.

    1. That rusty camp stove looked like an explosion waiting to happen. Go to a ma & pa hardware/camping supply store and buy a new one! I'll bet that stove went right back into the jumbled warehouse when filming was over. Should have gone in the trash!

    2. She had doubles of things. THIS everyone, is why people have wedding gift registries, so that you don't get more than on of an item.

    3. She isn’t “ungrateful”, seems to me she is being practical. She said the items were duplicates, their home is small and storing duplicates makes things crowded. Why do so many who comment here try to find fault with everything the Duggars do. Re-gifting is a common practice not a criminal offense.

    4. Might be Kathy that they put their business out to the public. If they didn't want anyone's opinion well there is a solution for that and that is live a private life. If you re-gjft do it privately not on national tv.

    5. It might be a practical thing to do if you have doubles but who would do it right on public tv for everyone to see you give their never used gift away. That's rude plain and simple

    6. Kathy, both sides of our family regift and we have no problem with it. But we don't announce it to the world, the people who gave us the gift, or the person we're regifting it to. Big difference. It's not about the regifting, it's about the total lack of thought and concern for the gift-giver and his/her feelings.

    7. I am not offended if someone regifts, returns or doesn’t like my gift. Once I give it it no longer belongs to me.

  9. Such fun gift ideas!
