More Messages for the Dillards

Yesterday, we posted a video message from Josh and Anna Duggar and their four (soon to be five) kiddos congratulating the Dillards on the birth of Samuel Scott Dillard. The rest of the family has decided to get in on the action and share their well wishes with Jill and Derick. Here are a few more clips:

Jordyn Duggar and Josie Duggar
(Watch this one if you need a jolt of energy!)

Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth
(Newlyweds who are leaving the size of their family up to God)

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar
(Proud grandparents of eight--soon to be nine)

  1. Do you realize that the videos play automatically, so when I actually click to watch a video, I am listening to sound from two videos at the same time? It's maddening!

    1. Wonder why she just doesn't post links to where they are online? Because 90% of the time, either someone can't get them to play, or someone can't get them to stop playing.

  2. And still radio silence. Could the Duggars not just release a statement of some kind with brief details just to let everyone know how things are. All very strange considering they usually have photos posted within hours of birth and a feature in People magazine within days.

  3. That's all they can gush about, the baby's size? No mention of how Jill or the baby are doing?

  4. Nice wishes but where is Jill & her new baby? This blog ignores the elephant in the room.

  5. What about Jill? Is she okay? Where's are the mama and baby pix?

  6. Still nothing but radio silence from Derick and Jill?

  7. Do you know if Samuel's birth will be shown on this season of counting on?

  8. Jordyn and Josie are just precious! And my, do those two look so much older. They're growing quickly. :)

  9. Is everything ok with the baby! Don't wanna cramp their privacy but worried that we haven't seen many photos

This British family has them beat. It would be cool if they came to the USA to visit 🇺🇸

    1. This is actually their 21st baby as they had a little one who was stillborn. The family are not religious, they had their first baby when the mum was 17 and she has decided to not have anymore as she says her last two pregnancies left her exhausted, and they have run out of names they like!

    2. I believe she had the first at 14, and the second at 19. Same dad for all.

  12. Love these videos!!! It is kinda like seeing the old show.....you know the one TLC took off the air to please the haters.

  13. There is no harm in doing a video....I just wonder why they do it because I'm sure they have all gone to see Jill and the baby. I can see Jinger doing it because she lives far away but don't the rest of them live nearby?

    1. Jill lives "across the yard" from them.

  14. I found Jim Bob and Michelle's message to be very awkward and strained. "Yep, tall..." And the "8 going on 200" comment was totally bizarre. Why are they focused on their next 192 grandchildren at this moment, rather than offering a kind message of congratulations, luck and love to their daughter, who is recovering from (what sounds like) a rough birth experience? In fact, they didn't say ANYTHING to or about Jill in that message at all! Every one of the siblings' messages were warmer and more loving than Jim Bob and Michelle's message. Even Austin and Jeremy (brothers-in-law) said "love y'all" or something of the sort, which is more than Michelle and Jim Bob offered. Very strange...

    1. Well now. I'm thinking he might be tall!

    2. LOL @12:50! I sincerely hope all is well, but yeah very ...um...awkward video.

    3. I really hope they aren't focused just on the number of grandchildren they might have. But sometimes they make you wonder. I hope they get to know each one better than they do some of their kids. I recall that episode with Michelle taking the time to get to 'know' her boys. She asked him what do you like to do? Like she had no idea. He was trying to teach her chess. It was actually sad to think, you don't know your kids interests. I was hoping it was only for TV. But you never know. I bet Jana knows ALL the kids interests and likes.

    4. I didn't find it awkward at all. They obviously know inquiring minds want to know - so they were essentially being the spokespersons for Jill and Derrick. Give this family a break!

    5. I also thought the remark about 8 going on 200 grandkids was inappropriate. Their kids will be very insecure if they don't meet those expectations. What if there are fertility problems?

    6. Why talk of how many they will have when they have said it's up to God.

    7. The minister who spoke to my husband and me before our wedding said it wasn't the quantity of years that defined a marriage as successful, but the QUALITY of those years.

I feel the same thing can be said about children or grandchildren. Don't focus on the quantity of them, but focus on the quality of them instead.

    8. I know plenty of people with grandchildren, and they are always excited and telling everyone how many grandchildren they have. With as many children as they have, it is highly likely that they will have Around two hundred grandchildren even if some of their children don't have any kids. I think the prospect excites them.

Anon 6:49. It is a good idea to talk to your kids and ask them their interests from time to time. They grow and change and so do their interests. Sometimes we don't realize they have changed until we ask. We were discussing favorite songs, food, restaurants, games, etc. with our kids recently, and there were several areas where they have changed from what they used to like.

  19. I really missed seeing Jill & Derick in last night's
    Part One - Counting on.
I understand with the timing/date of filming that Jill was close to her due date, but I think they could have her & Derick via remote.
I just hope all is OK with the baby and Jill. . .. they introduced them selves to us and naturally we are interested in their well being.
However, something does appear to be "off" - compared to other births.
Jill had a C-section with Israel also and they seemed MUCH more open with pictures and comments.

  20. The usual baby announcement script is Michelle saying "baby and mama are going great"

  21. Josie and Jordyns hair is a mess. What happened to the little girls that used to always have their hair brushed and clipped out of their face with a bow?
