Q&A with Jinger and Joy

Joy and Austin Forsyth and their kids spent some extended time in Los Angeles a couple weeks ago. While they were there, Austin was a guest on an episode of Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo's podcast, and Joy was a guest on two podcast episodes. On the first episode that features Joy, she shares her faith journey and some of the struggles and experiences that have shaped her life. Her second episode was just released, and it is a question and answer session with Jinger. They discuss their sister relationship, their parenting styles, the differences in their kids' bedtime routines, and how they keep up with all their siblings. Among other topics, Joy also shares her thoughts on Jinger's first book and how it helped her grow.

Joy and Austin on a Podcast

Joy and Austin Forsyth haven't published a video to YouTube in three months, but they were recently guests on The Unplanned Podcast with Matt and Abby Howard (video link below). This is a podcast that both Jill and Derick Dillard and Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo have been guests on in the past. The conversation between the Howards and the Forsyths lasts more than one hour and covers a variety of topics. 

Joy and Austin share new details about their childhood friendship and courtship, and Austin gives insight into how he approached their relationship. Joy talks about her battle with postpartum depression and how Jinger book's impacted her. Joy and Austin also boast on Michelle and how humble and kind she is and helpful to her children and grandchildren. "She's very selfless," says Austin. "She's always looking for areas to serve others."

Nails and Mud

 What does a trip to the nail salon have in common with mud? Not much, but both are featured in Joy and Austin Forsyth's latest YouTube video. Joy and the kids join Jana Duggar and Johannah Duggar for manicures and pedicures. And later, the Forsyths meet up with Austin's parents and some friends for a mudding adventure.

What have the Forsyths been up to? They recently posted a video. In it, Lolli (Grandma Michelle Duggar) watches Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner while Joy and Austin go out. Later, about 40 Duggars descend on Beaver Lake for a family camping trip.

Duggars and Forsyths Go West

Earlier this summer, two of the Duggar siblings and their families embarked on an RV trip out west. Joy and Austin Forsyth took their three children (Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner), and Jedidiah and Katey Duggar went with Truett and Nora. They covered more than 3,000 miles over 10 days.

Two of the travelers were newborns, which made for a memorable journey. The highlights of the adventure included time in Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, as well as a stop on the way home at Colorado's Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park. The couples uploaded YouTube video documenting the trip (links below).

The Duggar family continues to grow, as Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar will soon add not one but two new grandchildren to their count. Joy and Austin Forsyth announced in October that they were expecting their third, while Jedidiah and Katey Duggar joined with a near-Christmas reveal of their second pregnancy. Baby Forsyth is a boy, while Baby Duggar is a girl (Nora Kate Duggar). Who knows, maybe Joy and Katey will deliver on the same day!

Busy Week for the Forsyths

It has been a busy time for Joy and Austin Forsyth. Austin drove out to Colorado with a few guys, including Jason Duggar. They went backpacking and elk hunting but were unsuccessful at harvesting an animal. Meanwhile, Joy had a visit from her best friend, Carlin (Bates) Stewart, and Carlin's daughter Layla. 

When Austin returned home, he surprised his wife with a birthday getaway, which included Hallmark moves at the Keeter Center, a beautiful hotel located near Branson, Missouri.

A Birthday and An Anniversary

Back when the Duggar family was "only" comprised of Jim Bob and Michelle and their kids, spring had very few birthdays, but with all the in-laws and grandchildren, it has become a very busy time. Today is Joy and Austin Forsyth's three-year wedding anniversary and Ivy Seewald's first birthday. It would have been the lovely Grandma Mary Duggar's 79th birthday, but she passed away on June 9th of last year.

Forsyths Move In

A few weeks ago, we shared a photo of the house that the Forsyths purchased as their residence (not to resell). Today, we are happy to report that Joy and Austin Forsyth have officially moved in! They still have a lot of unpacking and organizing to do, but doesn't that kitchen look marvelous?

Joy and Austin Forsyth bought a house, and this time, they are going to live in it. The house has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and should be ready for move-in soon. The Forsyths have been living in a camper for about 18 months. They have also been working on a spec house to sell, as well.

Forsyths' Newest Project

Joy and Austin Forsyth just announced that they are starting the process of building a new house, to sell. They built one last year, also to sell, and say they are looking forward to another project. For about a year, they have been living in a 32-foot, 5th wheel camper. It is absolutely adorable and surprisingly spacious, don't you think?

The Forsyths' Loss

Just days ago, the Duggars announced that Anna Duggar, Kendra Duggar, and Lauren Duggar are all expecting baby girls in November. This evening, they have shared a devastating piece of news. Joy and Austin Forsyth lost their baby, who was also due in November.

The expectant parents went in for their 20-week ultrasound and gender reveal one week ago and were told that their baby had passed away. It was a girl, and they named her Annabell Elise. Please join us in prayer for Joy and Austin for both physical and emotional healing.

Grandma Duggar's Birthday

She is Grandma Duggar to some and Great-Grandma Duggar to others, but no matter what you call her, this lady is blessed beyond measure. By the end of this year, after Jessa, Anna, Joy, Kendra, Lauren, and cousin Amy have had their babies, Mary Duggar will have 18 great-grandchildren. (She has 20 grandchildren, so her greats will soon outnumber her grands!) Happy 78th, Miss Mary! Today is also Joy and Austin Forsyth's two-year wedding anniversary.

Forsyths Celebrate 2 Years

Today is Joy and Austin Forsyth's two-year wedding anniversary. What a coincidence that Joy and her best friend, Carlin (Bates) Stewart, who married Evan Stewart yesterday, will have back-to-back anniversaries. Happy anniversary, Forsyths!

Duggar Grandchild #17

It feels like Duggar pregnancy announcements have become a regular occurrence on our blog. In February, we shared the heartbreaking news of Josiah and Lauren Duggar's miscarriage, which happened last October. Today, we are overjoyed to pass along some happier news. The couple is expecting again! They are due with their little rainbow baby this fall, right on track with Josh and Anna Duggar, Joseph and Kendra Duggar, and Joy and Austin Forsyth.

Felicity and Gideon

Some of the Duggars--including the Forsyths, Jim Bob and Michelle, Jana, and the Seewalds--traveled down to Laredo, Texas, to visit Jinger and Jermey Vuolo. (In case you haven't heard, the Vuolos had their first service at their new church location on Sunday.)

Take a look at this adorable photo of cousins Felicity and Gideon. Do you see the resemblance? The two are five months apart. Gideon turns one in 10 days, while Felicity's birthday is in July.

Duggar #9 Turns 21

Joy-Anna Duggar was only six years old when the Duggars' first reality TV special premiered. Now, she's Joy-Anna Forsyth, has been married 17 months, and has an eight-month-old baby. Happy 21st birthday, Joy!
