Dillard Wedding

We're back from our blogging break! Our posts over the past week and a half have been spotty, due to our limited access to the internet. Thanks for sticking with us. :)

While we were away, Derick Dillard's brother, Dan Dillard, married the love of his life, Deena. The two were engaged in July, and the wedding took place on November 12th. Derick was the best man, Jill was a bridesmaid, and Israel was the ring bearer.

    2. Oh good grief there are bigger issues I the world than knees showing while knelt on the ground.

    3. She's in someone else's wedding so I'm sure she had to wear what the bride wanted. Good Lord people don't be so judgmental

    4. Really? Good grief why? Maybe as grown married women they are finally doing things their way! I say go for it and grab a comfy pair of slacks too! People are way too judgmental and concerned with the way women dress!

    5. Seriously we have no idea if the dress was longer in person or not. She was kneeling. Also, it's knees. Nothing major. She is still modest and absolutely beautiful. I guarantee you they are still modest people and still have the same kind heart. It's just knees....just saying. Love this family and everything about them. Great pics yall.

    6. I'm sure she did not choose the bridesmaid dress for her brother in laws wedding....not that it matters- she's still dressed very modestly.

    7. Whose hemlines are too short? Derick & Dan's pants?

    8. Don't get your knickers in a knot. It was a bridesmaid dress.

    9. She's crouching down, why not say something positive, like what a beautiful family, what a beautiful joyous day! Look how beautiful Jill looks in her dress. Why in a world full of hate and despair would you want to spread more negative. Spread kindness and love, and kindness and love come to you.

    11. Oh come one. Jill is wearing a lovely conservative suit to the wedding. And the photo below she is wearing a long skirt. I have not seen her hemlines going up at all, and to be honest, it is Derek who she has to please. JIll is the most modest of all the Duggar girls

      Delete
    12. Why? Because knees are so sinful (NO)! She looks beautiful! You can choose your clothes not other people's clothes.

    13. ?????? Whose hemline is getting shorter and what does it have to do with the this wedding??

      Delete
    14. Whose hemlines?

      Delete
    15. Took a real effort to find that to judge it... she's kneeling. It happens.

      Delete
    16. Totally disagree! It is nice to see these young women making their own fashion decisions.

      Delete
    17. It may be because she's kneeling.

      Delete
    18. Why do you say that? I don't see them getting THAT much shorter. Even if they have, they're still doing their best to cover up properly. #ModestyIsTheBest!

      Delete
    19. Their hemline don't define their godliness.

    20. Take a closer look: I think her skirt is at least knee length, it just crawled up when she got down on the floor and she didn't realise it. There's definitely a couple of creases in her skirt from surplus material 😄

    21. It's not 1930. I think everyone looks great.

      Delete
    22. How can you tell that by this photo? Good grief.

      Delete
    23. Well it was to the knee, still very modest.

      Delete
    24. To everyone who is hating on the original poster, the Duggars have explicitly stated that exposing anything above the knee is not acceptable according to the Bible. Sure, society does not think that, but they have made it clear of what they believe. Therefore, yes, it is surprising that a member would contradict what they say they do. If they said they don't wear pink, for example, and suddenly start wearing pink, they are not being true to their principles. The point here is that they said it, it is recorded and in writing, and now they are slowly backpedaling. If they no longer believe in something, that is fine. But as public personalities, they have a duty to their fans to explain a change in their views that they have been so open about previously. Point is that they need to be upfront. That's why they have so much controversy associated to themselves to begin with.

    25. Doesn't the bride choose what dresses she wants her attendants to wear?

      Delete
    26. Wow... I didn't say it to be rude. Goodness. It wasn't negativity. Just a statement.

      Delete
    27. Seriously... y'all need to get a life! Don't you have other things to do than to pick at another families clothing choices?!
      Beautiful pictures!:)

    28. To anonymous at 10:19,

Jill is a married adult who is no longer a Dugger. If she chooses to dress differently than her parents, that is her choice. It doesn't mean the whole family is backpedaling. If Michelle changes how she dresses and how the little ones still in her care dress, then that is backpedaling. As a family member stated below, their dresses were to the knee. You can clearly tell she is crouched down. When you crouch sometimes your skirt/dresses goes up a little. It is still clearly modest! Jill looks beautiful.

    31. The problem really is not with the responses but
with the Duggars constantly telling us what the
wear. It is the Duggars who bring this up not
the bloggers. I agree with Anon 10:19 Maybe
it is legalism on the part of the Duggars.
As the kids grow older, the rules not longer
      apply.

    32. Jill is a married woman, making her own choices. She is not a professional model nor is she an actress. She's a mother and is not going to obsess how a skirt looks when she kneels down to her child's level.

      Delete
    33. A. The Duggers never said the Bible mandates covering the knees. They said it was their personal choice.
      B. What's wrong with knees?

    2. I agree that the dresses are modest but that still doesn't negate the fact that Jill'a thigh is showing which is a no no in Duggarville.

      Delete
    3. Jill's not a Duggar anymore. She's a Dillard.

      Delete
    4. I don't understand the "she's not a duggar anymore" rhetoric. R u saying that jimbob and Michelle make up their own rules off their own whim and force their children to follow until they leave the roost? I thought jimbob and Michelle have studied the Bible extensively and have used the Bible to direct how they should live their lives, while raising their children to do the same. Sounds insincere that the kids would toss to the wind what they have been raised to understand to be a Christian way of living. And yes, jimbob specifically explained that according to the Bible both men and women should not expose any thighs.

  19. All the backlash about her dress... geeze! Her dress looks alot like the other two ladies in the background, so I'm guessing thats she was a bridesmaid. And being that she is a siter in law, then I can say she's likely to be bridesmaid. And you usually wear what the Bride likes and wants or your out, so.... I think she looks stunning either way.

  20. It brightens my day when I see a post about your family. You are a beautiful testimony of shining for the Lord. You are such an inspiration to us, please overlook those that are living in the flesh that rots away. And not in the spirit that is the light into eternity.

    1. I would not want to go through life perpetually happy, not having the full range of human emotions. If you call that living in rotting flesh, then so be it.
