Jim Bob Duggar, King of Rap

Our blogging break is almost over! You're going to love this post...

Almost two years ago, Jim Bob Duggar, Michelle Duggar, and Jinger Duggar took a trip up to Columbus, Ohio, during a massive snowstorm to speak at Grace Polaris Church. During that speaking engagement, Jim Bob made his rapping debut alongside Christian comedian Anita Renfroe.

Susan, a loyal reader, shares her experience at the event. We have also included two YouTube videos created by other attendees. (You might want to sit on the floor for this performance. There's a good chance you'll be laughing so hard that you might just fall out of your chair!)

My favorite memory of the Duggars, while there are so many caught on camera, is when I got to hear them speak in person. It was in February 2015, and my husband had bought tickets as a dating anniversary/Valentine's Day present.

I was so excited to finally meet the wonderful couple I had been following all these years. However, there was a major snow storm, so we prayed to God for it to clear up and diligently trudged further until we felt we needed to turn around. Not but a couple miles later there was a snow plow. Hallelujah! We were able to follow him for a large part of the way to Columbus!

Once we arrived, checked in, and sat down to eat, we saw Jinger. She came around to everyone and graciously thanked us for traveling in this terrible weather. Her heart was so sweet and humble. We later found out, during the speaking engagement, that they had a tough time getting there too! Their flights were being delayed and canceled, and they were afraid of not being able to come. But through lots of running and God's grace, they found a flight that took them Columbus, Ohio.

That night, listening to Mr. and Mrs. Duggar give their testimony and share the Gospel was amazing and really touched my heart. After they were done speaking, a Christian comedian, Ms. Renfro spoke and pulled Jim Bob and Michelle up there to do her famous YouTube song, "In Tha Muthahood." They were great sports, and the song was hilarious!

  1. Oh.My.Goodness! I´m pretty sure that Jim Bob and Michelle didn´t feel comfortable inside. Rap music does not represent them.

  3. I do not mean to be rude but I thought the Duggars didn't dance and I really respected them for that as my family doesn't either. Well.. I guess it was bound to happen sometime. Congratulations to Jinger and Jeremy and Joy-Anna and Austin! So many exciting things happening with the family lately! I have a small suspicion that Jill might be pregnant too but we will have to wait and see ;) Thank you Lily and Ellie for keeping us updated. You are both amazing! Hope you are having fun wherever you are while you are on a blogging break!!!! Miss your recap from the other night since I wasn't able to watch the episode. God Bless Y'all and God Bless America!

  4. That clip was amusing😆
JB needs a better fitting suit jacket though. Much to short and I've noticed he always fills his pockets. I don't believe he knows better. Just not modest.

  12. Not a fan of this!!! So sad to see how the Duggar family have taken on the world so much more than their first seasons of TLC! You rarely see them pray or do spiritual things in everyday life! It's just a entertainment show

    1. This video was filmed at a Christian conference. Do you expect them to be on their knees in prayer 24/7? Are you?

    2. It seems TLC has set the agenda instead of the Duggars and prayer is not on TLC's agenda.

    3. You must not be watching the same show, because they're STILL praying etc in everyday life.

  13. That's probably the closest thing to dancing he's ever don.

  15. Its kind of hard to believe that these are the same Duggars that we were introduced to years ago. They were so against worldly music. They were all for playing hymns on their violins and pianos and singing hymns on their bus trips. It was just kind of shocking to see him do this even if it was in fun.

  16. The prayer that he was saying for Jinger before the wedding got voiced over. How sad!

  17. Great to see you let loose a little Jim bob, the Christian message can be put across is so many ways. Well done. :)
