  1. ahh, I was so hopeful that Joy would wait for a few years before getting married and having to start having babies. I find this quite sad. I hope she'll still pursue some interests.

    1. Why would you be sad about something that makes her happy?

    2. Why does marriage symbolise the end of life? I married at 19 and we have a home, 3 nearly 4 Lord willing beautiful children. Finished my education up to PhD started my own business and enjoy life. The last 10 years have been a blessing.

    3. I've wished that for every gifted and talented Duggar girl. I've come to the conclusion that my idea of a future, which includes an education and career, is different from their's but neither of our pursuits are wrong when you understand you are living out God's call.

    4. She is doing what makes her happyou getting married doesn't mean your life isn't ending nor does having children I have 3 kids of my own by the time I was 21 which is the best thing I did plus I was married at 18...Some people to marry and have kids sooner then others....If you can't be happy for her then you shouldn't be commenting on this thread

  2. Watch as Jinger Duggar plans her wedding. What?? Wasn't her wedding the season finale?

  3. When the title said Duggar, I was like oh yay 19 kids & grand kid counting ;)
But you meant Counting On & that's good too! The ladies that are now married aren't "Duggar's" technically anymore. I think TLC has listened to me--faster turnarounds on this show & adding other family members..now they just need to do more than 13 episodes!

    2. Jill is not pregnant.

Didn't you hear Jill said it's scary to have a kids in Central American

      Delete
    3. I don't think so, Jill like some women has struggled to regain her pre baby body

    4. I agree she is not pregnant. I hope she doesn't read this because it is mean to call her pregnant when she may just be trying to lose weight.

  7. Can you tell me what joy say on TLC when she talk about Austin? I'm deaf and they didn't show the closed caption on this part and if you not mind tell me this please thanks...

    1. Are you talking about the one they posted on People.com of Joy and Austin outside sitting on a boulder? If so, here's how it goes:
Joy: "Hey y'all, I'm Joy Duggar and this is Austin."
Austin: "I just asked her to enter a courtship with me."
      Joy: "And I said yes!"
Joy: "We've known each other for a long time..."
      Austin: "Almost fifteen years."
      Joy: "Yeah"
Austin: "And I picked this spot because last time we were here together was August 1st of 2015..."
Joy: "It was a whole group of us that came up and we were just hanging out and it was really late at night, the stars were just gorgeous! For me, that's really special because then just being with him and then now it's even more special because it's where we start our courtship!"
Austin: "It's a place that I've come many times to just get away and spend time with the Lord and I just knew that this was the place that I wanted to ask her."
Joy: "And I was so surprised! He was like 'Oh we're just going to go to the Rock for a little bit.' I hadn't been here in so long I was not expecting this - I'm so happy!"

  8. Hi - you do a great job with the blog! I was looking at the birthdays and how old the kids are getting. It's definitely time for updated pics. Especially for Jedidiah thru Josie. Thank you for all you do!

  9. Why did TLC show the wedding before the details leading up to that special day? Was people magazine the issue?
I've read Austin is three years older than Joy. I know his family owns a camp and they are strict Christian parents.
Anyone know if Austin attended college or university? What career will support if marriage is considered?

Jeremy has an education to provide and Derrick has a degree to fall back on when ready. Although Ben attended college did he actually earn a degree like the others?

I hope the best life choices are made by each of them to bring much happiness and provide independently.

    1. Ben did a bivke studies related cert but impossible to get a job with it unless he does more studies (being realistic here). Ben needs to get a job to support his growing family.

    2. I know Austin works at his family's family camp but unsure if its paying job or not

      Delete
    3. Ben has a job. He works for his father-in-law's real estate company. That's a job; he gets a paycheck. Plenty of people work in a family business. It's not uncommon for generations to work together. One of the biggest lies kids are being told is you have to have a college degree. The Duggars have a lot of trade skills. That will get you farther than a college degree. All of these kids have business-building experience. You don't need a college degree for that. Austin helps with his family's camp. He's also a firefighter and an EMT. You can get certified to be an EMT within six months at a community college.

    4. If the Duggar kids are so talented with business skills, then why aren't they out in Corporate America, applying those skills? Why do they stick so close to home? What are they afraid of??

    5. Savannah- You are making some blanket statements and implying that college degrees are all worthless. There are certain careers that require it and will lead to very well-paying
jobs, such as engineering, doctor, nursing, research, architecture, teaching, lawyer... just to name a few. I think that what most people notice about the Duggars is their options are mostly limited to working for the family, for whatever reason. That is unusual situation and a safe bet that none of them will obtain a college degree.

    6. Savannah, if my husband had a resume come across his desk and the applicant didn't have a college degree, that resume would go straight into the trash can. It's not a lie that kids today need degrees!!! Look up the lifetime earnings difference between degreed professionals and non-degreed workers. It's a huge difference. It's also money that will be needed for their retirement, since company pension plans are becoming scarcer and you can't easily live on Social Security alone. If you don't have a degree, you'd better have enough drive and determination to be the next computer genius that will change the world, or the inventor of something that makes you rich. Otherwise, you're looking at a lifetime of lower paying jobs, and people with degrees getting advanced ahead of you.

  10. Why does this family keep saying the exact same thing when congratulating someone? "So happy for y'all", "keep the Lord first"...."see what the Lord has in store for you".? Can't they think of anything original? They are all just "fill in the blank with the applicable name" stamped copied scripts. Not interested in any more like these....

    1. Agreed, 2:42! These constant self-congratulatory videos are unnecessary. At times, they have almost stumbled to remember which J child they're addressing!

    2. I do agree that they usually sound like parrots. I wish they expressed themselves as individuals more.

    3. I'm not sure if my reply was received. My I-phone freezes. So I apologize if this appears twice. But yes. I agree. You would think they could find something personal that pertains to each sibling. They are close in age. They have lived in the same home. Give it some thought.

  11. Wait a Duggar minute -- You mean they were sitting on the rock alone and he asked her? No Jim Bob and Michelle there to chaperone this momentous event? Certainly Joy was not allowed to wander off alone with a boy!

    1. Maybe Jim Bob was worn out from scoring the 50-page courtship application and couldn't hike to the rock?

    2. I'm sure they'll be in the courtship story on TV, before, during, and after the question was popped. They don't let stuff like this slip by without getting camera time. Even though their show was "canceled."
