  2. JimBob moving Jill to the other side of him at the end of the clip is too funny! :)

  3. Wow, how embarrassing for Jill, both at dinner and when her dad grabbed her and moved her away from Derrick at the end of the video. I would have been mortified if I were her...

  4. I think dad is a little overzealous. There I said it.

Jill is a very impressive person. I would say the most mature in the family.

  5. Have to admit, I laughed out loud when JimBob put himself in between Jill and Derrick at the end of the clip. That was really funny. JimBob may have been slightly insensitive when it came to the food though. I understand it, I'm not overly adventurous with my food choices either. But seeing as he was in another country and enjoying their hospitality, he may have wanted to be more careful with what he said, seeing as the cameras were there and all...

    1. You know what, though, I'm glad Jim Bob is real, just himself! It's refreshing to see everyone has something they don't love doing. At least he gave it a go!

  7. Derick seems to be a little nervous but Jill seems so comfortable! It could be the cameramen... at first Ben seemed uncomfortable but we have to remember Jill and Jessa have been around the Camera Crew for 10 yrs!

  8. That's funny Darrick had his hand on Jill because there's a lots of creepy guys there and then Jim bob saw him and removed his hand and put his hand on her:) at leased there protective about their girls unlike other people. Jill is so pretty. Darrick is so handsome. They compliment each other so well. Jill is so lost in love. It truly is a match made in heaven. Does anyone know why Jessa and Ben aren't engaged yet? I mean Jill and Darrick are lost in love but I don't see that in Jessa and Ben. I think the duggars are going a bit too hard on Ben. I'm really praying that Jana finds her man. She's such a beutiful woman. Jinger is so beutiful too. I can't be leave how grown up joy Anne is:)

  10. Dear Lily and Ellie,
Please let me know if Anna is expecting her 4th! There are rumors going around that she is. And who is Jonathan Steiger? Can you confirm, SOON!!!!!!?????

  11. The conversation back in Arkansas before they decided to take this trip was cute, when Jill and Jim Bob decided it was important they go meet Derick in person. Yeah, surely Jim Bob would agree, (and also he convinced Michelle), that it was very important he accompany Jill to Nepal to check out Derick. Looks like the fun time they knew they would have and Jim Bob is on the job.

  12. can't wait to see it ... hopefully someone uploads it soooooon!! :) :) (no cable) that last scene where Jim Bob takes Derick's place was HILARIOUS. :D

  13. There's something I don't quite understand. How can Jim Bob go from accepting this young man as his prayer partner, interact with him for one and a half years (over the phone only,?) think that Derrick might be a good husband for Jill, then seem stern and disapproving of him when this guy interacts with Jill on that "pre get to know you" basis they invented about courting? It doesn't show Jim Bob in a very good light. He doesn't seem to be a guiding force in his children's lives, he seems to control it. Major difference.

  15. That was a really awkward moment when Jim Bob takes Jill from Derick and moves her on the other side! Yow!

  16. HAHAHA I love Jim Bob at the end of the video. Trying to protect his baby, so cute!

  17. Poor Derick! It's awkward at the end when Mr. Duggar pulls Jill away!!

  18. Lily and Ellie, there's also a short clip of when Derick and Jill first met in Nepal.

  19. jill seems such a sensible and lovely girl and derrick is delightful, however jim-bob comes across as very disrespectful in all his interactions with the prospective partners,i am disappointed in him

  20. I would like to think that Jill needs to make the decision about Derick. Not you dad. You almost make it sound like an arranged marriage! I hope that you would have enough faith in Jill to make this decision all by herself!!

  21. Iam a bit surprised, on how fast this relationship is happening..........I understand you have talked for a bit, but only met 1/2 around the world for a few days.......or is it just seem that way cuz this is TV?......And getting married in June I hear...

  23. In this short video in the end, Derick puts hin arm on Jills back, then jim bob hugs her and goes in between them... why? i thought side hugs and something like that is ok? Sometimes in find jim bob wierd...

  24. Wow. I really love the Duggars but I was sort of embarrassed by how critical they were of the traditional Nepalese food. I don't think it was a good way to make a good first impression on Derrick, but fortunately for Jill, he doesn't seem to have minded!

  25. The lunch is very humorous! The unanswered question on Jim Bob and Jill's mind is what is this? Neither Jim Bob or Jill are satisfied with answers that are vague, Jill says to Derick. "You don't really know!"
Then later Jill mentions not wanting to see that again! It is so funny:) Thanks for the laugh!

  26. Jim Bob is so funny. First of all, he is not at all adventurous with food, and then he keeps speaking Spanish as though every "other" country will identify with it...haha.

  27. the duggars confuse me sometimes. you travel all the way to nepal to see this guy. pretty much go on a date with him. and he has his hand on your back. but your not courting yet. how is that protecting yourself? shouldnt pre courtship be the friendship stage? they sure seemed to be dating from the looks of it. and what about jessa? they take responsibility away from her just because shes in the romantic head in the cloud phase of her relationship? doesnt seem very wise to me. im afraid for these duggars. a lot of what they always preached doesnt seem to line up with their current actions. im not trying to be judgmental i really hope they can keep their focus on christ and be an example to the world

  28. I have been really disappointed in the way JimBob reacts to the boyfriends of his daughters. It is in poor taste to say, "Do you think she's the one?" "Is she as sweet as she thought she was?" I see no reason to put people on the spot and try to embarrass them. He may be trying to see how they will react, but there are nicer ways to get to know a person.

  29. Plus, Derrick has worked with JB for a while and knows how corny he can be. This wasn't the first time he'd talked to him.

  30. anon 12: Jim Bob probably prayed long and hard about it and gave it go God to lead.

  31. i think that in the episode Jim Bob was very rude with the cultural traditions. but overall it was a good episode.

  32. I love Jim Bob's sense of humor! He cracks me up! So great that he knows each of daughters so well and is so protective of them! Wish more Dads put in that much time, thought and prayer for their girls!

  33. where do the parents work

  34. To the person questioning JimBob's reactions to his daughter's boyfriends: I think a lot of the interaction comes off as awkward or even a little odd because it is scripted. In essence, it's done specifically for the cameras and so it seems weird. Some of the interactions this season have left me feeling uncomfortable simply because they seem so awkward and I think it's because it's being recreated for the cameras.

After watching the full episode, I really do think JimBob should have been more sensitive to the traditions and food of the culture he was in. Especially being that the cameras were there. But I guess I don't know how I would have reacted being in that situation. I said before, I tend to be sensitive to food, so if a camera was right in my face when I was trying something unfamiliar, I might have the same reaction.

  35. I think Jill (and other Duggar daughters) are lucky to have Jim Bob as a father. He is very protective of his daughters, caring, helpful. Michelle did so well in giving her kids this father!

  36. As far as I know, Michelle has never worked, other than sitting at the car lot desk early on; JimBob claims to have rental properties, so he collects rent from tenants. Nothing that requires any regular hours for any of them.

I found somewhere saying that Anna is due in Sept. and that Jinger is in a courtship with Jonathan Steiger

  38. Since Anna is homeschooling Mac, and she is 4 like Josie, has MIchelle started to homeschool Josie?

  39. Why don't the Duggars issue a statement about their older daughers' "courtship status" and clarify the matter? Nothing wrong with that. It would put an end to any rumors and settle the matter.

  40. Hi Lily and Ellie,

In one of the clips (I think it was the one where JB and Jill were leaving the house for Nepal), there was a timeline of some sort on the wall in the Duggar's hallway. Do you happen to know what it was and where they got it? Thanks~

    Hi Curious Homeschooler,

Yes! Michelle told us all about it last time we visited. It's a timeline of creation. You can purchase it from Answers In Genesis:
