  9. I would like to know if the Duggars have a storm shelter, with all the tornadoes that go through Arkansas?

  10. I've often thought it would be great for the Duggars to have a garden, though I know it was tried in the past. Very healthy for them to have fresh produce and great science lessons for the home-schoolers. They certainly have the space for a garden and lots of hands to pull weeds!

In one episode they mentioned that they go to their storage closet (the only room in their house that doesn't have any windows). They did a tornado drill a couple of years ago for the tornado that hit Joplin, MO. Typically their area doesn't see as many tornadoes, but I do know they go to their storage closet.

  12. No they go to the laundry room. It is the only one that has all internal walls. I think threy said something about the walls being reinforced.

  13. Do you have any idea how big their garden is and what sorts of things they plant?

  14. @Anonymous I really don't get how people are so concerned if the Duggars have a storm shelter or not. Who cares? TRUST GOD and He will pull you thru a storm if it is His will. All the protection in the world wont help them. God could take them out in a second if he willed. All I see is people worrying over something no one on this earth has control of. if you are that worried about it, seek the Lord in prayer. And give your worries to Him. And then LEAVE IT WITH HIM!
    Blessings!

  16. @AnonymousThey do live in tornado alley, and yes, they do have there fair share of tornados in that area.It doesn't matter if they have reinforced walls and a steel framed house because an f4 or f5 would likley destroy there house with a direct hit, underground is the best option, they have the skills, land, equipment and know how to build a great one.I pray they do as they have lots of precious cargo in that home.

I forgot the name of the room, but it doesn't really matter that much.

@anony. 6-I have wondered the same thing. We never hear of the Duggars speaking about bad storms having come their way and their need to shelter in place somewhere. I don't think their house has a basement.

  19. Maybe they will finally start eating healthier food now.

  20. This is the link to the video of the Duggars having a natural disaster drill a couple of years ago: http://www.tlc.com/tv-shows/19-kids-and-counting/videos/duggar-disaster-drill.htm

  21. @AnonymousAll the saftey drills in the world won't help if its the BIG one and they are not in a proper shelter to sustain winds over 200mph + I was in Joplin and I was,and still am devastated, sorry that I care so much for this families well bein.

  22. Re p.f.8: check the book out at your local library for free. If they don't have a copy, they can locate one for you and provide it. No money necessary.

  23. I always thought they ate more healthily than many in the South tend to eat.

  24. The Duggars always seem to make living seem easy. What a great life they have! Good for them!
Personally I struggle to get it all together, they are eons beyond me. But I like the vicarious feel good I get from watching them live.

  25. I have often wondered about a garden for this family and the possibility of canning, making their own jam and pickles. Even for such a big family all those hands could probably make a year supply of pickles in a day.
