"A Duggar Leaves Home" in 4 Weeks

Get an update on cousin Amy Duggar in an all-new TLC special airing June 10th. (Scroll down for a video premiere and written summary.)

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have long been known for their large, loving brood of 19 kids, their conservative values, and their modest clothing. But not all Duggars are cut from the same cloth.

Known as the fun-loving cousin from 19 Kids and Counting, Amy is a different kind of Duggar. She’s a little louder, a little wilder, and is about to try big city living for the first time in Nashville, Tennessee. With dreams of becoming a country music star, Amy is packing her bags and branching out from her supersized family.

Amy’s journey to the famed “Music City” and the home of country music takes this free-spirit out of Northwest Arkansas and into the recording studio, but rest assured, she won’t go it alone. She’s bringing reinforcements in the form of mom Deanna and beloved Grandma Duggar.

From getting a feel for what the new city has to offer to singing on stage at an open mic night, Amy struggles to handle the not-so-glamorous side of life as an up-and-coming artist. Does she have what it takes to make it as a country music star?

Revisit some of Amy’s most memorable moments with her cousins in a one-hour special of 19 Kids and Counting airing Tuesday, June 10, at 8PM EST/7PM CST, followed by the all-new special "A Duggar Leaves Home" at 9PM EST/8PM CST.

  1. The clarity of Amy's purpose is admirable. She wants to be a singer and is pursuing her dream, good for her! Best of luck in Tinsel Town Amy!

  4. Amy is really not my favorite. I think she'll do fine in Nashville, but she probably won't get her own show. If she does, I probably won't watch it.

  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Jim bobs sister married then Amy's last name wouldn't be duggar? Would it?

  11. Isn't her last name "Jordan"?

  12. This really comes across as a selfish worldly pursuit :( I'm really glad that Amy has a godly extended family who loves and embraces her.

  13. IMO Amy always seems to be seeking out fame. Why her own show? I don't care for her when she's on 19k&c just because it looks like she tries to take over and promote herself. Just being honest. I would like to see the United Bates of America come back for a few shows or maybe a special spinoff w/ the newly married Duggars & Bateses.

  14. might be a good show, I don't like the part where she uses the "C" word when she messes up! But you never know, maybe, Is she a christian?

  15. Yeah I never really understood all the fanfare around Amy til it was revealed she wanted to get into the music industry, then it was pretty clear to me why she kept on showing up in more episodes. I never like how she's referred to as fun-loving or the fun one, like implying the Duggars are not so much? The louder & wilder description rings true, and unfortunately too annoying for me.

  16. I don't think that when Amy is on the show that shes's attention seeking, I think the is just being herself, which is sometimes kind of refreshing on the show. It is nice however to see some of the Duggar sisters coming into there own to see more of their personalities. However, I don't see the need for a show surrounding Cousin Amy. I'm sure its just to help promote her music career, but I'd prefer to keep to the Duggar's abd watch how the girl's live's are exspanding.

  17. I don't think that Amy is alway's seeking fame and attention, I think she just has a stronger and more outgoing personality, which on the show is sometimes refreshing. And I'm sure that this TV show for her is just a way of promoting her music career. However, I'd much rather prefer seeing the Duggar's and watching the girl's. I like watching them making their own live's.

  18. I"m soo happy for her! She's been doing this singing thing for a while and I'm glad she has the opportunity to get good training in Nashville. Also glad Grandma Duggar gets a break! But...who will do the laundry? LOL

  19. Amy, I hope that you do great. You are a Dugger so I have faith in you.

  20. Yes, I, too, am not interested in what Amy does. I don't think a whole show about her is warranted. I would rather see a show about the newly married young people, Bates and Duggars any day. Not to cut Amy down, but she just isn't that interesting. She is a woman who acts silly.

  21. Her mom and dad were not married when she was born so she took the name Duggar but her mom and dad later got married so Deanna's last name is Jordan.
