  2. Just was wondering, why did Josh and Anna move to DC? Every time you turn around, they are either traveling with JimBob and Michelle, or are in Arkansas visiting. Doesn't Josh have a 9-5 job to tend to? This travel is expensive, I assume they fly. I think they'll move back to ARK, as soon as DC dries up. Not being sarcastic, but in the real 9-5 world, an employee has to be at his/her desk. Thanks for responding as I'm sure many fans wonder too.

  3. Not everyone who follows this family thinks they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. The Duggar parents should go on the actual internet and read all of the commentary about them and directly answer the hard questions that are brought up. If you draw attention to yourselves on TV, you should clarify "cloudy areas" of your lifestyle that come to mind from your viewers. I believe they hide a lot about their belief system "under their skirts". Do the girls actually believe that anyone who dates contemporarily, no sex, of course is sinning? Why don't they come out and say that? If not, say it's not so. Is their belief system only for them and the like minded church members? Why are they held to a higher standard before God than the rest of us? If not, then by default, they are insinuiating that the rest of us are a bunch of sinners even if we live a good Christian life but aren't unnecessarily severe as they are? Please understand I am not being rude or mean, but these are the issues that are never addressed. The purpose of this post is to bring up questions that ARE on the minds of many readers. Thank you if you post this one.

    1. The duggars are allowed to share their beliefs. They dont shove it down anyone's throats nor imply that everyone do like they do. It sounds like you're defensive and blaming them for it. If you want to criticize the Duggars or are offended then dont watch them.

    2. They do answer the questions, read their books! Growing Up Duggar has been very inspirational to me and I am not even a teen, however I do have a young daughter and value so many areas the touch on.

  7. Does anybody know why Jessa is wearing so much makeup lately? I mean, I guess there's nothing wrong with it, but it seems to me like she's not being herself.

  8. Why are Jennifer, Jordyn and Josie barefoot in the cold?

    1. My kids go barefoot during winter indoors all of the time. Thats what they prefer and I'm not going to force them to wear socks/slippers. I'm sure the Duggars house is heated...

    2. How do you know its cold? The Duggars have heated floors. Why does everyone nitpick??

My guess is the little girls have bare feet because they might have just had their toenails painted. They are sure cute!

  11. @anonymous 3 from what I have read about the Duggars they don't believe it is sinful to date but that it could lead to temptation. Also they said that if you go on a date you will see the best side of someone, but if you meet in an everyday family situation you will see what they are like in that area which is more relevant to what they would be like as a spouse and parent. Which I think is a good point. But I do question whether this courting would work as well in families with less loving and understanding parents than the Duggars, would the children be forced into marriages of convenience as has happened in the past?

  12. Was wondering the same thing.josh and anna always traveling.the average person hardly ever gets time off.I'm sure they can affors it being debt free and making money off of the reality show.I absolute love the duggars but someonr said it earlier they should really answer the hard questions that people are curios about.

  13. All of these pictures are beautiful. @Anonymous8 Jennifer, Jordyn, and Josie are barefoot because they are inside, but I do understand your question about that because even though they are inside I think they should at least have socks on, and I'm guessing that's what your thinking also.

  14. They're barefoot in the house obviously where there's heat. They're not out standing in the snow or anything.

  15. @Anonymousanonymous 8,didn't you notice that they are barefoot in their own house and not outside. You don't know what the house temp is, maybe their floor is warm, really its none of our business how they dress in their home. Now your just nitpicking, let's play nice,Amen!

  17. Anonymous 3, I was really touched by the conflict you seem to be feeling. I think you have brought up a tough subject and I get a sense of your frustrations. No one wants to feel as though certain choices they make might be condemned by others. I don't think it is up to the Duggars or anyone else for that matter to label people's sins specifically and it just would not make sense to me that members of this family would make public pronunciations against others by calling them sinners. So I doubt you will see them come out and condemn others for making choices different than their own, or calling people who do not embrace their exact life-style as sinners I think it is generally understood that there was only one man who lived a sinless life. So we are all sinners. The variety of ways in which we sin are ultimately between the individual and God. For example, as a Mormon I don't drink alcohol, but I don't condemn others who do drink or call them sinners. It is not for me to condemn others , instead it's my job to obey God and if I have been convicted that God does not want me to drink alcohol, and if disobeying God is sinful, then I don't want to drink alcohol because if would be a sin for me to do so. It would also be a sin for me to show anything less than love to another person who does not share my conviction. In a similar way I am not really qualified to judge others as good Christians because I observe them doing things that appear to be good in my eyes. Ultimately the lord will make those decisions. However, I think we can observe behavior in others and find it worthy or unworthy of emulation or as a source of encouragement or discouragement. I think the Duggars encourage people to consider turning to the source of all love (God) first and go from there. I get the feeling from the post that you already love the lord and know that you too are loved. Please dear one don't set the Duggars up as the guideposts. I know that in my own life as I allow Jesus Christ to lead and as I study my questions out in my mind, pray and read my scriptures, He answers although sometimes in ways I might not have expected, He will always lead us to righteousness and give us answers that will bring peace if we are willing to follow. God bless.

  18. @AnonymousWhy should they go on other sites and read all the dreadful remarks? What purpose would that serve?Just because they are on tv doesn't mean they HAVE to answer hard questionss to apease anyone. The Duggars have friends of all walks of life, and they certainly don't judge, like others who judge them. They are the first ones to clarify that they are not perfect.Maybe if the haters watched every single episode and read the books they would learn a little, education is key.Simply don't watch or visit friendly sites if y'all dislike the family, I certainly don't waste my time on sites that I dislike.Makes sense to me.I can't even find a family on tv that is as nice and is as truly happy a Duggars and the Bates. GODSPEED! Sincerely,Natalie

  19. If I were the Duggars, I wouldn't care what the rest of the world thinks. Frankly, it is not God's standard that has changed just the worlds including many churches. Although, I don't agree to the absolute strictness of No dating, I respect the Duggars for encouraging no sex or physical affection before marriage. The current trends we see in the world has brought tremendous heartache and horribly jaded individuals when it comes to relationships. Keep it up Duggars!

  20. I find it amusing that anyone would say the Duggars should go online and read what people say about them. Really? Why? Why should they care *at all* what anyone thinks of them? The only person's opinion anyone should care about is God's opinion. As long as a person is doing what God is telling them *personally* to do, then they are doing well and being obedient to Him, which is the only way to be truly happy.

Sharing what God has told them (as a family) to do and the reasons behind their choices does not mean that they believe all others are in sin. It simply means they are trying to get others to think about their decisions and pray about them.

Their ultimate (and highest) goal is to share Christ and the gift of salvation with the whole world, not their standards of dress or makeup or hair or even dating/courting. But Jesus! Jesus is the most important thing to share with anyone!

As for the little girls being barefoot: Those pics are fairly recent and it's been pretty warm in Arkansas this week/weekend. Not to mention that the Duggars have heated floors and the girls are inside. We do *not* have heated floors and my littler kids run around with barefeet all the time.

  23. Do they have underfloor heating? It's the winter up in Arkansas and tile flooring, from my own experience is cold. It's a waste of heat energy to walk barefoot with no socks in the winter. You would have to turn up the heat. the kids, like some adults there just don't seem to ever wear proper shoes and socks. JMO

  25. Marcus is a cutie and is the image of Anna's father. Hope that doesn't bother JimBob.

  26. I remember Jim Bob said they installed radiant heating, meaning heated floors in the house. It is a way to save money on heating especially since they have those really high ceilings.

I don't think Josh's job is 9-5. I think his workplace wants him to be in AR and film, it is like free advertising. It does seem like either the family is visiting Josh or Josh is visiting the family but that is their business. I'm sure if Josh's boss wanted him at his desk, he would be at his desk. My concern is the lack of structure for the younger kids, like regular school days. I don't homeschool but do some activites with homeschool groups and the groups I partciapate in have incredible academic results but are very structured in have set times and lessons plans. yes they take vacations at different times but they have solid months of daily homeschool everyday. When I look back at this blog I have not seen a solid month of possible homeschool in over a year.

  27. I'd like to hear from Josh's co-workers about his habitual absence from the office no matter what you think of the work they do. I'm sure some co-workers who might have hoped for the promotion and who had a proper college education are miffed that they were passed up. If they believe in lots of kids at Josh's office, wouldn't they need the raise in pay that goes along with it? Josh has other income, they don't.

  29. we only get updates on big trips, visits etc. there are many many other days we have no idea what they do because we are not with them daily so I am sure they are well educated. they seem more educated then those in public school and beyond their years so I wouldn't worry about it. why must this family get bashed for everything?? maybe because it makes the bashers feel better about themselves??

  30. So many questions, I thought I must answer. You seem so distraught over these questions and I can tell you from experience, God has the answers to all of them! Truly, spend time in your Bible and God will place on your heart what he has for you – the answers to all these questions. Then, rather than being concerned about what others (the Duggars or anyone else) are doing, you can feel confident and at peace that you are within God’s will.
The Duggars seem to know very well, that each of us will stand before the Lord at the judgment to account for the life they lived and the choices they have made. They do not judge anyone. They seem to make no implication of judgment in any of their interviews.

I have come to see over time, however, how few people really have freedom and peace in the choices they make. Therefore, some tend to get really upset if someone else chooses something different than they did.

So if you would, please soften your heart. Consider this: When we go to a restaurant, we are not troubled if everyone else orders something different than we do, even if we think we are ordering the very best on the menu. Then why might some be troubled if the Duggars make different choices than they do in life?
    Love,
    S

  31. The parents should answer the real questions on camera; we should not have to buy the book to read/hear them. Most of us can't spare the money and contribute to book sales.

  32. When Jessa is in photos with Ben she has such a wonderful look on her face that must be coming from within her. It is nice that it is not an elusive crush that has her looking so happy.

  33. Nice pictures of the children. I forget how important children are. Jesus said so many things in the gospels about children. Jim Bob and Michelle are fine parents and the sound man a good friend too. I just sort of feel awe. It is sweet that comments here show concern for the little feet.

  34. The boys had no idea whatsoever who Babe Ruth was. Does this tell you anything at all?

  35. If you watched all the shows, maybe you would remember that when they built the house they put the in floor heating in. So I don't think the floors are cold at all.

  36. They may not know who Babe Ruth was, but they sure know who Jesus Christ is and that is AWESOME!!!

  37. It doesn't matter if they don't know who Babe Ruth was.

  38. A lot of these comments are just about how the little girls are barefoot and how Josh travels too much and how they don't do enough home school. People can go barefoot in their own houses. Do you think they should get arrested or something? You can't look through all the posts to find out how much homeschool they do. SMH

  39. @Cammie If you're looking through these posts to find out how much homeschool they did then you're wasting you're time. Homeschool doesn't last for the whole day and how much homeschool they do is none of your business.

  40. People don't need to be learning about baseball and Babe Ruth during home school.
