Recap: "Family Dinner" and "Nesting and Room Re-Do"

19 Kids and Counting "Family Dinner"

  • The Duggar boys help Jessa and Ben unload their "new-to-them" furniture. Meanwhile, Jill and Derick head to Washington D.C. to visit Josh and Anna. Josh plans to teach Derick a thing or two about parenting.
  • When the Dillards arrive in D.C., Josh and Derick take Mackynzie, Michael, and Marcus shopping to buy food for dinner. Derick learns how to buckle the kids into their car seats.
  • "Right now I can't imagine shopping with this many kids on my own someday," says Derick, as Mackynzie and Michael run through the aisles saying, "Daddy, Daddy, we need this!" But Derick knows he will adapt to fatherhood when Baby Dilly arrives.
  • Josh and Derick prepare dinner, and the ladies love it. "Josh and I and the kids had a blast with Jill and Derick," says Anna.
  • Jill and Anna, who are both expecting, enjoy talking about pregnancy. The ladies write out encouraging Bible verses and quotes and organize them onto an inspiration board to read from during labor.
  • Back in Arkansas, Jessa makes her first meal as a married woman. "I'm not the best cook," says the new bride. "It's just my tradition to burn something. It just wouldn't be a proper meal if I didn't scorch something a little bit."
  • After preheating the oven, she opens the door and realizes she was cooking the owner's manual. She also uses a hammer in place of a meat tenderizer. But despite her unconventional methods, Jessa's meal is a big hit. Her hubby loves it.

19 Kids and Counting "Nesting and Room Re-Do"
  • The seven Duggar girls still living at home prepare to remodel their room, which has had yellow walls since the Duggars built the house almost ten years ago. They want to give it a more mature feel. Cindy, Michelle's best friend from childhood, comes over to help. They settle on burnt orange, dark gray, and light gray for paint colors.
  • Jim Bob says the girls' room is his favorite room in the house because it is bright and cheerful. He tries to convince his daughters to leave the pained tree and horse, but the girls insist on covering them up.
  • In D.C., Josh and Anna take their kids to an appointment with their midwife, Marsha Jackson, at BirthCare. Marsha has delivered more than 3,000 babies. Mackynzie and Michael love being able to hear the baby's heartbeat. Josh and Anna admit they are nervous about not having family around for the birth.
  • Michelle, Jill, and Jessa meet up to shop for Baby Dilly's nursery furniture. "Jill is expecting her first child, and I am so excited to be a grandma again," says Michelle.
  • Grandma Duggar and Jana take care of the kids while Jim Bob and Michelle are in Chicago for a meeting. Josie has a seizure, and Grandma Duggar calls 9-1-1 while Jana and Scott, the Duggars' director and photographer, carry out the instructions given by the dispatcher.
  • Josie seizes for about ten minutes before the paramedics arrive. Jana jumps in the ambulance and heads to the hospital with her youngest sister. "It makes your heart drop," says Michelle, as she remembers the moment she found out that Josie had had a seizure. "You just feel so incapable of doing anything."
  • Because of her premature birth, Josie has had several seizures, which are brought on when her temperature spikes.
  • Doctors are able to get Josie's fever under control, and they send her home. By the next day, she is as good as new. Jim Bob and Michelle return from Chicago, and Josie runs and gives them a big hug. "Reuniting with my parents was amazing," says Jana. "I was so glad to have them back."

Israel's Name

The Duggars and Dillards are thrilled to welcome Israel David Dillard. (Click here for details.) Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar now have four grandchildren and are looking forward to the birth of #5 in July.

Before finding out Baby Dilly's gender, Jill and Derick Dillard had two possible names picked out: Israel, which means "God will prevail," and Selah, which means "pause and reflect." When they found out they were expecting a boy, they settled on Israel. What is significant about that name?

Back in September 2011, Jill and her family traveled to Israel as part of their World Tour. It was the trip of a lifetime for the Duggars because it made the Bible come to life.

More than two years later and a few months after Jill and Derick began their courtship, Derick stopped in Israel on his way home from Nepal. Knowing how much Jill had enjoyed her trip to Israel, he purchased her engagement ring there.

5 Days Overdue

One year ago today, Derick Dillard proposed to Jill Duggar. They were married less than three months later (June 21st) and became pregnant about two weeks into their marriage. Now, the Dillards are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their son, whom they have affectionately nicknamed "Baby Dilly." He is five days overdue. We made another chart that shows the progression of Jill's baby bump for you to look at while you wait for Baby Dilly to make his debut.

Baby Dilly Will Be Late

Jill Dillard, whose due date is today, is having Braxton Hicks contractions, but her son has still not made his debut. In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine, she shared that she is planning for Baby Dilly to arrive late. Watch the video below for an update from Jill.

Jill Dillard Due TODAY

Today is Baby Dilly's due date, which means Jill Dillard is 40 weeks pregnant. It's hard to believe how quickly time has passed. In just five days, Jill and Derick will celebrate the one-year anniversary of their engagement.

Just a Few More Days

Jill and Derick Dillard tied the knot exactly nine months ago. Not only are they celebrating their 9 "monthiversary," but they are also celebrating that Jill is 39 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Baby Dilly will be here very soon. How much do you think he will weigh? Derick was a very large baby, so there's a good chance that Baby Dilly will be, too.

37 Weeks...

This will be one of the last (and perhaps the very last) photos of Jill Dillard's baby bump. She is 37 weeks pregnant. Baby Dilly is getting ready to make his big debut. Jill and Derick plan to have a home birth but have not announced how much of it will be filmed. Stay tuned!

Just a Few More Weeks...

Jill Dillard passed the 36-week mark. While 37 weeks is technically considered full-term, it is usually best for the baby's development if he or she remains in the womb for an additional two weeks. At this point in the pregnancy, Baby Dilly is gaining weight at a rate of approximately one ounce per day and measures about the length of a head of romaine lettuce.

Recap: "Jessa Says Yes to the Dress" and "Bridesmaids and Babies"

19 Kids and Counting "Jessa Says Yes to the Dress"

  • Ben Seewald's mom and sisters drive up from their home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to go wedding dress shopping with Jessa, Michelle, Grandma Duggar, and the Duggar girls (minus Jill).
  • The owners of Tesori dress shop admit they are not used to having such a large group, but they are thrilled to help Jessa pick out her dream gown.
  • Ben asks the ladies to send him pictures of Jessa trying on bridal gowns, so Joy snaps photos of all the "ugly ones" and texts them to the groom.
  • "I guess for me on my end, because I'm still parenting, [the time] has flown," says Guinn Seewald (Ben's mom). "But I know for the courting couple, I think it has been a long process. I'm sure they're quite ready."
  • Guinn, who is giving away her first of seven children, asks Michelle for advice. The mom of 19 reminds her to remember to be joyful.
  • When Michelle tells Guinn that she could be a grandma in just one year, Guinn is shocked. "Let's just handle the wedding," she replies, laughing. "Let's just stay right here. But that's a sweet thought."
  • Ben wants Jessa's dress to be modest. "I get kind of jealous," says the groom, chuckling. "She's my girl."
  • Michelle says Jessa wants to "get in, find the dress, and be done." Jill, who had her hair and makeup done during her bridal appointment, spent more time savoring the moment.
  • Jessa ends up choosing a blush colored gown. She doesn't have time to order a dress online, so she is thrilled to find one at the shop. "I love that it has a little bit of sparkle to it, but not too much," she says.
  • At the Dillard home, Jill tutors James, who enjoys spending time with his sister and her husband.
  • Jill and Derick receive a homemade baby mobile from Josh and Anna. Over the phone, Michael tells the Dillards that he can't wait to meet his new cousin.
  • Michelle and Jessa discuss mother of the bride dresses. "Well this is a very difficult year for Dad, giving two daughters away in the same year," says Jim Bob.

19 Kids and Counting "Bridesmaids and Babies"

  • Jessa and Ben, along with Jim Bob and Michelle, head to the church where they will be tying the knot. Sierra, a family friend and Jessa's wedding coordinator, joins them. (Sierra also
    coordinated Jill's wedding reception).
  • Jessa reveals that she and Ben sent out 900 invitations. "We're expecting a little bit of a smaller crowd than Jill had at her wedding," says the Duggar bride. "She had, maybe 1700 or something. We're probably going to have somewhere around 1100-1300."
  • The ladies at the church are surprised to hear that the Duggars and Seewalds would like to use the church for both the ceremony and the reception. They end up having it outside in the church parking lot.
  • Jessa asks Josh, who enjoys graphic design, to make her wedding invitations. He designed Jill's, as well.
  • Jinger Duggar, who has been experimenting with photography since she was 14, takes Jessa and Ben's engagement pictures in front of an old church. Joy and Johannah come along to assist.
  • "You had to be creative with showing that affection without a lot of hands-on," says Jinger.
  • In the middle of the photo shoot, Jim Bob and John-David drive by and honk loudly. "When you have 18 brothers and sisters, there's a possibility that one is going to pop up somewhere at any given time," says John-David.
  • When Jessa's bridesmaids dresses arrive in the mail, her sisters are a little hesitant. (Jessa chose the "Ellie" Modest Dress in Coral Rose, which costs $50 per gown.)
  • Michelle steams the dresses before the girls try them on. Josie sings, "Here comes the bride, all fat and wide!"
  • "I don't like them," says Jana, as she is trying her dress on. "Come out with your hands up," jokes Jessa.
  • "It's a challenge to find a dress that will fit like 10 different people and look good still," says Joy. The girls agree that the dresses, which come down to the middle of the calf, are an "awkward length." Nothing that a few alterations can't fix.
  • "When it comes down to it, if you really want to do something else, I'll just leave it with y'all," Jessa says. "You can return them all and order your own dresses. I'm not really picky. It would be nice if they stuck with the dresses that I have chosen, but I guess we'll see.
  • Meanwhile, Jill and Derick have their first midwife appointment. Jill, who has been studying midwifery for nearly four years, is 12 weeks pregnant. "I've had a lot of experience in that area, but it's entirely different when I'm the one pregnant," she says.
  • Certified Professional Midwife Joy Coonfield, as well as student midwife Debbie Query, who is a dear friend of the Duggars, will deliver Baby Dilly.
  • Why didn't Jill and Derick choose the midwife Jill works with? They say they want to keep Jill's work separate from her pregnancy.
  • Jill jokes that she has not been having morning sickness, but "all-day sickness."
