Duggar Gender Reveal: It's a...

Due in three days, Jessa and Ben Seewald have yet to share the gender of their baby. Jill and Derick Dillard, on the other hand, just announced the gender of their second child, due in July. The Dillards did a scavenger hunt gender reveal with family.

Find out whether soon-to-be-two-year-old Israel Dillard will welcome a little brother or sister in the video below. He or she will be the eight grandchild of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who currently have four grandsons and two granddaughters, with Jessa and Jill expecting numbers seven and eight.

    12. I'm so sorry for your loss. It is truly one of the hardest roads you will ever have to walk. I too lost a baby. My Payton would have been 5 this March 12th.

    14. I have a question. I thought Christians didn't consider this a "loss" and they would still have that child when they met in Heaven. So is it appropriate to tell someone you're sorry for a "loss" if they still have that child waiting? What is the right thing to say?

      Delete
    15. "Sorry for your loss" is a fine thing to say, because it is a loss here on earth, heaven notwithstanding.

    1. I agree, as a sister I was always thought to not begrudge the light of my sisters. Would have seemed more gracious to give time and celebration to eachothers moments.

  13. I wish TLC would stop making them do stuff like this. It's hard to be genuinely excited when you'll have to film it half a dozen times. At least UP seems more... real?

  14. Congratulations! How exciting. I have a girl and three sons so I know all about brotherly love. I'm due in July too. I wonder what her due date is, to see how close we are. I find out the gender next week so she might be ahead of me a little.

  15. Congratulations to Jill, Derick & Israel! Will they stick with the letter I for this baby too?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hope they don't name it Deuteronomy or something crazy like that... And Dericks hair.. He looks sick

    ReplyDelete
  17. Congrats on another son!!
I wonder if they will stick to the letter "I" theme, or stick with places of travel, or go with family names? I personally think Isaiah would be a great name or even Richard, after derricks father...
Whatever they choose to name him will be perfect though!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. You should name him Judah! Israel and Judah...very cute in my opinion. :)

  19. Congratulations to Jill, Derick and Big Brother Isarel! May God bless your growing family.

  20. Again, something trumped-up for the cameras to film and the magazine to buy. Why not just tell the family PRIVATELY.

  21. I wonder if Derick will be filming handy hair care tips, the way the girls did? His hair sure is long enough.

  30. Why now? Oh I know, Jessa is due in a couple of days and those 2 girls are all about one-up-manship. Jill isn't due until July; this news could have waited a few days

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. How in the world is that one upmanship? If she wants to tell everyone what she is having, then what is the big deal? Maybe she just found out and decided to share it. It isn't like they were showing Jessa's new baby and they cut the camera to her to reveal the gender. Jessa is due soon, but it could be another week or two before the baby comes.

    2. I agree, as the oldest of 3 girls I think it is gracious and sweet to give eachother the (sun)light! And also just to grow in enjoy eachothers glow! Especially these days we should emphasize on this!

    3. My sister in law did this to my husband and I. The day our first child was born she announced she was pregnant ( with her third). It was a little hurtful at first. But the joy of the birth our child quickly changed the feeling!

    1. I do not want to be anoying but that will not be forever. Botox will work for around 3 to 6 months. Achalasia is diffucult and one time botox is unfortunately not the cure.

  34. I knew nothing was going to be wrong with Derick. These story lines are so misleading. Feel like I'm being lied to, actually.

    1. Did you see the show? They were saying they don't know what's wrong with him, not that there's nothing wrong. They were putting it on the show in hopes that some viewer would be familiar with what he's suffering from and be able to help them figure out what it is, since doctors haven't been able to.

  35. Congrats Jill and Derick he is going to bring so much joy into your lives and will have the sweetest big brother in the whole world to be around in Isreal. Have you decided on a name yet?

I suggest for name: Isaiah Richard or Isaac Richard.
very nice name, but recpect. ;)

  45. The proper terminology is actually "sex reveal." Sex is biological, while gender is psychological and sociocultural. I am not trying to correct you, but I teach psychology and this is the terminology that all of the textbooks and psychologists use. There is nothing wrong with using the word "sex," especially in this context.

  47. Did anyone notice something about this physician's examination room that I noticed? I question the cleanliness of this facility. A doctor's exam room doesn't have shelving with papers spewed all over, a bottle of Elmer's glue on it's side, etc. The décor hasn't been freshened up since the Brady Bunch was on TV with those out of date 1970s colors. Also another important thing...why didn't Jill and Derick have exam gowns on? How could this doctor perform a thorough well-check up with folks who have been out of the country while fully clothed? When he was examining Derick's throat, where he has an actual issue going on, he didn't even unbutton one button on Derick's shirt? How thorough is that? It's not. If this was done while the cameras were turned off for their modesty reasons, it should have been made clear. These scenes indicated that this was the extent of the exam. Did he take blood from J & D and order blood work? Doesn't look like it. How about a urine test? Nope, not that either. This was the poorest doctor visit I had ever seen. Another thing, since Derick clearly went to the doctor for an existing issue, Jill's term of "well family check up" was incorrect. She claims to have had medical training? No, I don't think it's worth much. I'm not trying to be insulting here at all, but genuinely concerned about bad information being introduced on TV. Please clear these things up.

  51. Pregnant and moving back to a country infested with Zika as well as having a very difficult birth previously and she's going to a third-world country where she could potentially give birth in? That's so smart and safe.

  52. Congratulations to you both. I think the name Isaac or Isaiah would be perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Jill and Derick I most happy for you and love you both. But as one who really want to help I was thinking maybe it would been nicer to wait a little after to have announced your baby sex is and let Jessa have a little time to be special for her news? Please I am not being mean and I am older slot more than you and age does give a person more insight as they age. So please understand when I say we were so happy when you got married first and you had our attention for a while but now as the older sister give thought in letting your younger sisters have their time. God will richly bless you more when you put others feelings first though they may not even say it. I would like to see them also give you guys your time in the limelight when it is your turn. Love you guys. I do understand how excited you are. But patience is a virtue.

  54. It's too bad Jill hasn't been using the chock board with how far long she is like she did with Isreal. It would be really cool to see the comparisons of the two pregnancies together. Such a wonderful couple. Hope they decide to hold of on going to Central America til after baby comes. That Zetia Virus is very harmful to unborn babies.

  55. Judah sounds nice. :) Anonymous @ 8:05, i think they'd go more along the lines of Zered, or somthing that sounds like a boy's name. Though Bethlehem would be a great name for a girl! -hint hint-
