Discussion: 19 "J" Names and Counting

Even with nineteen kids, there are plenty of "J" names that the Duggars have not used. How many can you come up with?

Thanks to a loyal reader for giving us the idea for this discussion question!

  1. I'm still floored they haven't used:

    Jackie, Jenna, or Jane.

Maybe Jenna is the northern version of Jana? But still, Jackie DEFINITELY needs to happen and Jane is a classic.

  68. People keep suggesting Jack. They have a Jackson already. I wouldn't think the would want to name another "Jack" since Jackson may shorten his name to that as he gets older. Same kind of thing with the "Jameison" suggestion. They have a James also and a Jessa which is too close to Jessica in my opinion. However, I am surprised they have not used Jonah yet since it is a very biblical name!

  109. There are already many, many numerous names. My questions is why did they choose to name all their kids with "J" names to begin with? Are Josh and Anna going to name all their kids with "M" names? Are Jill and Derrick gong to name their kids with "I" names? Is this tradition going to carry on with all the other kids in the Duggar family? I love names and why the parents chose the names for particular children so I am interested in why the "M" names for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  110. @Anonymous
There is an FAQ that explains that.

    ReplyDelete
  111. Jessica ? Joann ? Aren't they too similar to Jessa and Joy Anna and Johanna which are already being used ? Jack is similar to Jackson ! There must be other names to use. Pull out a baby book ! I really would like to know why did they break the trend of "J" names when they picked the name Caleb ??!

    ReplyDelete
  112. Have the Duggars ever thought of naming one of their daughters Jenna? My name is Jenna and where I come from it's not common. I only know one other person named Jenna.

    ReplyDelete
  113. They thought of naming Jackson Judah.
