Seewalds Take a Trip and Make an Announcement

Jessa and Ben Seewald recently took a kid-free trip to Destin, Florida. Michelle watched Spurgeon, Henry, Ivy, and Fern while Mom and Dad went on their first vacation without children. At the beginning of the YouTube video (link below), Jessa Seewald shares some exciting news. She is pregnant! This little one will be their rainbow baby, as the Seewalds had a miscarriage last year.

  1. Congratulations. I’m sure this is a huge blessing for them.

  2. Ben and Jesus are the cutest couple! That vacation seemed like it would be such a fun place to go with good food, beautiful scenery. I had to laugh at the kids wanting to stay longer with Grandmom. Grandmothers are awesome and you can tell you have a good and fun loving Grand mom when your kids don't want to come home but would rather hangout with Grandmom. LOL. I hope my grandkids one-day will enjoy being with me like that.

    1. In her YouTube video, Jessa indicated that she & Ben found out they were expecting in April of 2023. Based on that, I would guess that Jessa is about six months pregnant now, which would put her due date around Dec. 1st.

  4. Recently took a trip? Jessa was wearing a coat while dining outside in Destin, FL...the ocean temp was 70 deg F. This video was very old; taken in the beginning of 2023. She releases it now to deflect attention from Jill's book being released. A no brainer for me. I watched her video, it was so boring and dull. She had no joy in her narration. I would have died of boredom on this trip...What is her fascination with the Truman Show anyway? That movie is quite old; they visited those movie sites as if it was something current of interest to all. I'm sorry, but she lacks any joy in her voice. Why bother to release it now?

    1. Not only did she release that video, she's been posting tons of other stuff in the last few days. It's obvious they can't let Jill have all the press. Wonder who next in the family will try to take the spotlight?

    2. This is lunacy. She clearly kept the video to herself for a while because most people don’t announce pregnancies the day they take their pregnancy test-especially after a miscarriage. As one who has had a few miscarriages, it is common to feel like keeping the next pregnancy to yourself for a little while because you’re scared it might happen again. Another camp prefers to announce immediately so they can get prayers and support out the gate. She is owed her choice. I don’t think the timing has anything to do with Jill-who has a new bombshell every month seeking attention. This girl is just trying to share her family’s journey with her fans at the pace she feels comfortable and that is a wonderful thing. Wishing you all the best Jessa. Don’t worry about these idiots.

    3. I seen online that this trip was in April so it is kind of strange that its just now being released.

    4. I agree on rainbow baby. Not liked at all.

    5. There has always been a Jill-Jessa rivalry. Releasing your video (about something you've known for months) when you know your sister's book is coming out right then is not very nice.

    6. The Truman Show is the name of a movie. Basically this adult throughout his entire life has been on camera unaware his relatives are actors and that he is not in the real world.

    7. I enjoyed Jessa's travel video; good food, biking, hiking, and relaxing on the beach - that sounds like a great vacation to me! Worth every penny to get away and have someone else cook and clean for a little while. I think they visited the Truman Show sites because they happened to vacation there. Obviously they could not visit the film sites of other movies because that's not where they were filmed. Jessa did not come across as joyless to me and as she's entering her third trimester (asssuming the baby is due in December), this probably seemed like a good time for a pregnancy announcement. Let's face it , neither Jill's book release or Jessa's pregnancy announcement is going to distract from the other. People are perfectly capable of comprehending both news items at the same time. You seem like you have a bit of an ax to grind. If the video was as boring to you as you claim, why did you watch the whole thing and then invest more time in the comment section?

    8. Rainbow baby is not offensive and its okay to announce your pregnancy whenever you want.

  7. I don't like the term "rainbow baby." You shouldn't tag any pregnancy with a label like that.

    1. Why not? It's a term of hope and joy after a time of sorrow. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to. But for someone who has been through the loss of a baby, it may be healing for them, and no one else has the right to tell you what is or isn't healing for you.

    2. I agree, we as humans seem to give soft names to things that bring up hard emotions.

    3. I agree with you. Born after a silently born sister, it left a mark on my childhood.

    4. Why? Lots of women do and there’s nothing wrong with it.

    5. I feel like a grieving mom can call it whatever she likes. If it makes her feel better to think of it as "the sun's coming out and the color's back in the sky" time of joy after a sad storm, metaphorically speaking, why does that bother you?

    6. I was born after 2 miscarriages, so does that make me a "double rainbow"? Thank goodness my mother didn't label me at all. You shouldn't attach your past problems to a current innocent child. If a small child hears that term about herself, what is she supposed to think about the deceased sibling? Kids have over-active imaginations as it is. Adding a miscarriage is way too much for them to process. Don't do that, and don't make them wear a label their whole lives.

    7. 1:15, no one has to use the term to label the child after he/she is born

    8. I agree. That term is odd

    9. This is the first time I ever seen someone upset about a rainbow baby lol. It's only upsetting when a Duggar does something.

    10. 9:33 Actually, many people do say they a rainbow baby. I am one and though I'm 43, it still hurts to describe myself like that. I feel guilty for living instead of the other other baby. I can't even use another word for her.

    11. 6:44, you don't have to describe yourself like that!

  8. Sounds like you had a great time in Florida, thank you for sharing your trip with us.

  9. Yes, that term puts too much pressure on the child. It's almost like he/she is growing up in the previous child's shadow.

    1. I totally agree. It's not fair to call any child a rainbow child, a redemption child, whatever. It's not the child's fault or responsibility that he/she came when he/she did.

    2. I never heard of a rainbow kid or later becomes an adult ever feel pressured. Wow lol.

  16. Jill’s book release followed by Jessa’s video. The patriarch is very cunning, indeed!

  17. Jessa posts videos right when Jill releases her book. Looks like JimBob has his contracted kids on distraction patrol.

  18. Deflection....nothing but deflection from Jill's book. Jessa works for her father. If those adult kids wanted to get out of that "lifetime contract" they could hire their own attorneys and do so as Jim Bob's 'contract' doesn't seem legal to me.

    1. The others obviously don't see anything wrong with being under a contract (IF in fact they still are) its no one's business. Let them live how they want. Jill may suffer repercussions after a few years and come crawling back, like the prodigal son
