New Photos of Baby Samuel

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is Samuel Dillard's four-week milestone! Isn't he just an adorable little guy? Israel looks pretty excited about his new little brother.

  1. Samuel is so cute god bless Jill and Derek I hope god allows you to have more children in the future

  2. 1, 2, 3, 4 the elephants in the room some more...(Dillard's when will you at least acknowledge everyone's concerns and questions about the birthing process of this baby and why they were silent which is not, nor has ever been "the norm" for the Duggar family.

    1. Just stop with all the speculation! We all know they show the births on Counting On. TLC will release details when they are ready (around the time they show the birth).

    2. I think she looks fine and happy in that picture

    3. Only logical answer is it's a legal issue so they have to remain silent.

      Delete
    4. Another logical answer could be that they don't feel like they have to answer every speculation and internet rumor.

    5. Anon @ 5:51 This might be one birth they don't show, whatever happened this time around was really bad (and Israels was bad enough). If they do show it I am sure they will gloss it over.

  8. Sweet little baby, hope he's ok. Something about him seems off, not sure what it is. He looks so much like Jessa, except his nose is much more pronounced. Not much resemblance to Isreal, hard to believe they are brothers. I wish Jill and Derick all the best, obviously something went terribly wrong with Samuel's delivery.

    1. I wouldn't say obviously. If you look at Derricks baby pictures they look like the same baby almost, they have identical noses. He looks fine to me, and adorable!

    2. How kind...and when there turns out to be nothing at all wrong with him, I hope you apologise for saying that something is "off" with this cute baby.

      Delete
    3. I totally agree. My nephew had this same look about him as an infant and was diagnosed with severe autism by the time he was two.

      Delete
    4. He is a baby. He doesn't pose for pictures. Babies can't hold their heads up right away. He looks adorable and Jill looks great! I really like the natural look on her.

    7. Obviously your imagination is running wild , and you're seeing whatever you want to see.......
we may never hear all the details about the birth ,
but they both look fine to most of us ... ๐Ÿ’–

    8. You should not be saying things like that about a little baby. 'Off' ?! He's perfect and you are the one who is off

  12. Precious! Baby Samuel favors Jessa! Looks a little like Spurgeon, too! Thank you for sharing & blessings!

  13. You can tell from the pictures, that something is obviously wrong with Jill or Samuel.

    1. I'm not being critical, but what makes you think that? They both look very healthy to me.

    2. Well, it's not obvious to everyone, because they both look fine to me! Jill OR Samuel? So it's obvious from the pictures that something is wrong with one of them, but you can't tell which? Lol...right!!!

      Delete
    3. They both look great! People kept saying there was something wrong with Israel which isn't true.

      Delete
    4. What pictures are you looking at? They couldn't look healthier of happier !

    5. No, I can't. To what are you referring?

    6. I disagree completely.

    7. You are obviously seeing something that isn't there 7:02.

      Delete
    8. From the very few pictures that have been posted, you most certainly cannot tell that there's something "obviously wrong" with either one of them.

    9. Anonymous 7:02. Your comment is actually a form of bullying.

      Delete
    10. That is not a bullying comment. That's a comment and opinion you don't happen to agree with. Bullying would be telling that person to get lost.

    11. 10:57- I disagree. Passive -aggressive comments are a form of bullying.

  16. Why are these pictures always blurry?

    1. Because they are being taken with iphones with no filters, which I think most people are used to.

    1. Their kids are cute, but I think all kids are in their own individual ways. To say that any child is the "cutest ever" sounds over the top excessive.

      Delete
    2. Well if betty thinks they're the cutest kids ever, why can't she say that?

      Delete
    3. Got to agree with Anonymous here. I'm sure Betty intended no harm with her comment and just didn't think that through, but to another Duggar sibling (or any other mom) who may read here, it could be hurtful. As for me, I think every baby is a gift of God, uniquely created and beautiful in their own way and I thank God for that! Each one has his/her own personality and I love that! Having six nephews, I hate it when people compare one to the others or refer to them as a whole unit. Let's value each and every one for who they are. They're made in the image of God. :)

    1. He doesn't really look like Jim Bob. If you look at Derricks baby pictures, he looks like him. :)

      Delete
    2. I thought he resembled Jim Bob too. It's possible for the baby to look like both him and Derrick, since he carries genes from both of them.

      Delete
    3. I think Jimbobs just got one of those faces that people say babies resemble, they say the same about Winston Churchill!

  25. when is his picture going to be added to all the other pictures?

  26. Such a cute little fellow. It is always amazing to me how much babies change in the first few months from a wrinkly newborn to chubby cheeks baby! I believe God is loving, merciful, all forgiving and wisdom. God will always see and know more than me and knows the truth in people's hearts and actions and choices. The older I get, the more I realize I know nothing. Eileen

    1. Thanks for the wise words, Eileen! That is so true about how your perception changes over time.

    2. Amen to that Eileen. seventy plus years behind me and I couldn't agree with you more. I love this family and pray those people that only look for the negative.

    3. Actually, 10:37, studies have found that critical and curmudgeonly older people tend to live longer. Their brains are still working hard, and questioning everything can be beneficial to protecting them.

      Delete
    4. Thanks for your feedback Imu and Anon @ 10:37am. Thank you. Anon @11:27am, I have read studies that say it is genetics, country, diet, intelligence and socio economic factors that all play into how long we live. Being negative is not the same as critical thinking. Having a positive outlook on life while still being curious and interested in the world around us is closer to the factors influencing longevity. I recognize your voice and style of comments though you always choose to be Anon. I think there is another web page that may be of interest to you as well. I have heard your voice there as well. Have a great day! Eileen

    5. God numbers our days. You can do everything right or everything wrong, and when He calls you, your number is UP. That being said, being a critical thinker and exercising your brain by reading and thinking, staying active, and eating right, all with a spirit of thanksgiving, are all good ways to stay healthy, both mentally and physically.

  29. All the pictures of Jill are in the bedroom if anyone else has noticed. She's definitely not well or is recovering from something serious. She never leaves that chair, poor girl! I feel very sorry for her whatever has happened but I wish they would acknowledge the public's concerns.

    1. Did you miss the picture(s) from her date with Derrick?

      Delete
    2. One of the pictures in the album showed her in the car. It's quite a leap to say that she never leaves the chair from seeing a handful of photos (most of which don't actually show Jill).

      Delete
    3. 11:34 now really think about what you said "she never leaves that chair". Just because she has pictures taken in the same chair....and I'm not even sure that is true...doesn't mean she never leaves that chair. A picture is a split second, there are 24 hours in a day. Never?

    4. Dude, the woman just had a csection, she's supposed to be resting, not running marathons

    5. After I had our youngest child this past December, I spent a lot of time with her in our bedroom. It had a comfy chair and was quiet. I had a quick labor and normal delivery. Some people just find their bedrooms a comforting, relaxing place to be, especially after having a baby. I'm not sure why everyone can't just he happy for them, and stop all the speculation. If something happened that they want to share eventually, that's great their call. If nothing significant happened, that's great. They owe us nothing. If they decide that something happened that is too personal to share, we should respect that, regardless od what they've shared in the past. If you feel left out, betrayed, or disappointed, you can either get over it or stop following them. It might be entertainment for you, but it's real life for them.

    6. 1. She's had a C-section- major surgery. Cut her some slack.
      2. You have no idea when these photos were taken- it could've been not long after the birth.
      3. The Duggars are in the entertainment business. They want to make money. If there is, indeed, anything of remote interest to the public that could be used as a storyline, it will be kept under wraps in order to fuel the hubbub... which will ensure viewers will tune in when they do decide to share it.

    7. Why are the most eager "fans" who couldn't wait to see the baby, guess its birth date, etc., now the ones so eager to defend Jill and the lack of pictures and info? You can't have it both ways...

      Delete
    8. 10:59 - We don't actually know if those two groups of commenters are the same or not, especially since so many of us post anonymously. Also, you can have it both ways. You can be eager to see pictures but also understand that maybe the family has reasons why they aren't spilling out details at this point (reasons beyond the overly dramatic).

  30. Samuel is a cutie pie!!! So, so adorable. He looks like a baby doll. How beautiful that child is!!!

  31. Samuel looks like Derick from the eyes upward. Israel doesn't look like either parent to me. They are handsome young boys.

  32. Jill may be sticking close to her bed, recovering from the C-section (high enough that little people don't accidentally jump on/bump into/fall onto Mommy. It's also likely that Derick's snapping pictures as Jill finishes up nursing Samuel and that's her favorite nursing chair. I spent most of my recovery on our couch, with a big overstuffed chair next to it that was perfect for nursing. :)

  33. Aww, in a selfish way I wish you would post her birth story lol but it's just because I truly feel part of there lives by looking each day waiting for there births/marriage/ birthdays that I'm desperate to hear how it went and how she is recovering. It's such a shame she ended with a section as she has doubled the possibility of further sections and they only like to do 3 in the uk and even then they advise to leave it well over a year before subsequent pregnancys.

Do you know Iv been watching the las season of 19kids and counting and got really emotional seeing what happend a few short months in to it. I truly miss seeing all the family and the homestead... (I love seeing the older kids starting there family's and married life but it's saddening not seeing everyone. (Including josh, and his wonderful wife and there children.. )
