Fashion Tips from Jessa and Jinger

One of the advantages of having eight sisters is that you can always find something cute to wear. And the more gals you have in your family, the more outfits and accessories there are to choose from!

"It's pretty much free game," explains Jinger Duggar. "...Whatever works for you in the closet, you can wear it." In the TLC webisode below, she and Jessa (Duggar) Seewald show off their favorite outfits and share a few tidbits of fashion advice.

That explains the yellow cardigan that all the Duggar sisters have worn at one time or another...

  1. I wonder how they decide what clothing goes with each girl as they get married and move out of the house?

  2. What happens when a sister gets married? Do they get to pick a few items that everyone agrees on? :) Love your show!!! :)

  3. Jinger has a good style, have seen the denim blue shirt lots lately, but Jinger used to wear a variety of good looks.

  4. when you have a small child a maxi skirt does not suit you. you would be tripping over your self trying to keep up with them. plus for them since they do not wear heels they probably get dirty because they drag on the floor. stick to wearing what jinger is wearing looks better on you? also Jessa your child is around nine months your old clothes should fit by now and no need to make yourself look bigger than you are. that outfit does not flatter you at all.

    1. Wow...I'm speechless with that kind of comment. Why did u feel the need to say that?

    2. "Your old clothes SHOULD fit by now"? Who are you to tell Jessa how "big" she should be?

    3. "Your clothes should fit by now"????
      Mean. Rude. Unnecessary.
Jessa had a large baby and not all women rush to squeeze back into their old clothes once their baby comes. Because, you know, being a new mum is more important?
Why was this comment even allowed to be published.

    4. I can't believe people actually say things like this behind a screen. Only type what you would say! Everyone is different. That is all.

    5. If you must criticize someone, choose something like their actions or poor behavior. Criticizing someone's appearance is very shallow and tacky. For example, if I wanted to criticize you, I would point out the poor behavior of your classless comment.

    6. Her old clothes may fit her but they would obviously show her mommy tummy which she doesn't want to do.

    7. My goodness, aren't you bossy? My maxi skirt doesn't trip me up at all chasing after my almost two year old. I haven't noticed if it gets dirty, but it washes. It's very, very comfy and I love it!

    8. Wow that was judgey.

    9. My kids are teenagers, and my old clothes STILL don't fit!

  5. You can be fashionable without wearing dresses every single day. There are loose jeans out there that don't exploit everything. I'm a Christian/Jewish person and I wear jeans. Am I going to be ridiculed by the duggers?

    1. I just finished "Growing up Duggar" and I'm nearly finished with "A Love that Multiplies" In both books they explain that they understand that everyone has different convictions. So no, you won't be ridiculed by the Duggars. The family said they are convicted by Deuteronomy 22:5 - "A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this." And its why they stick to skirts rather than pants. I rather recall cousin Amy always wearing jeans on the episodes, so I doubt they'd treat you any differently.

      God bless

    2. No, I don't think so. From what I've seen, they are very gracious to people who don't adhere to the same modesty standards. Remember how kind they were to Dolly Parton?

      Delete
    3. No. Their dress code when they are speakers is "business casual". I've seen plenty of video footage and pictures of them talking to people who wear blue jeans. Plus some of Jill's clients were definitely not into wearing skirts or dresses. Of course the haters don't like to talk about those pictures or video footage because it proves them wrong.

    4. I've never heard the Duggars ridicule anyone about anything. They've always said these are just the choices they feel are right for their family. I've even heard rumors that the girl Josiah courted wore pants, so I doubt they have any negative feelings toward we of the pants wearing pursuasion. :)

    5. I suggest you watch every single episode...then u will know all about that ridiculous statement...facts people...do some digging and educate yourself before you speaketh of what you do not knoweth.Blessings folks😆

    6. You can definitely be a Jewish Christian. This is known as Messianic Judaism and is a combination of Christianity and Judaism and Jewish traditions.

  6. Lilly and Ellie, I know you both are busy and I'm kindly asking, any chance you could put an updated pic of Spurgeon and Israel and Meredith in the top family banner? Please and thank you?!

    1. I agree. Even the little girls and boys pictures seem outdated (Jordyn, etc.)

  7. This is not meant to be an inappropriate question, but I've always wondered how they know whose underwear is whose.

    1. I've wondered the same thing.

    2. Lol, there are four gals in my house, and we can always tell based on color, brands, style, or size. You just learn, I guess :)

      Delete
    3. They probably use clothing labels, just a guess!

    4. To the person who wonders how they know who's underwear is who? I used to work at a nursing home. Some of the residents had the facility do their laundry. All their clothes, including underwear had their names and room numbers written with permanent markers. Works like a charm! Problem solved. You can still find a spot to write on "tagless" clothes that are popular today - even the tagless underwear.

    5. LOL! I've been told by Moms who have at least two same gender kids that a communal sock and underwear bin is handy.

    6. I've always wondered that too. Do they wash them separately or have them color coded or what?

      Delete
    7. So we are talking about sharing underwer on this blog? Yuck.

      Delete
    8. I thought the same thing. Aside from the whole modesty/ pure thoughts issue..it's just disgustingly low class.

  8. Nice video, thankyou Jessa and Jinger! I always try to dress modest and this video helps. Thanks!

  9. Jessa has her own home. Why is she still talking about sharing a closet and clothes with her sisters?

    1. I would think because she seems to be there all the time.

  10. Jessa giving fashion advice in her bare feet?

    1. Didn't you know; bare feet are fashionable!

    2. They always walked around those dirty tile floors in the big house in bare feet. Drove me nuts to see!

      Delete
    3. And it drives me nuts to see people wearing shoes indoors, especially on carpet! In Canada, it is rude to wear your shoes in someone's house. If you don't wear your shoes inside, you don't track filth in.

  11. This was so short and disappointing. Very little content other than showing one outfit. What was the point. Surely these two can offer more substance than showing a favorite outfit. This seemed so superficial to me that I'm surprised they agreed to do it (although I'm sure it's a way to be paid). Why not have all the girls post/talk about something meaningful? What about their future plans? Do Ben/Jessa plan to buy a house and move out of the family home, what is Ben doing for work (for Jim bob or on his own). Or are they required to keep all this for TLC now in which case, these teaser infomercials are just part of the TLC product. Maybe TLC is experimenting just to see how many people click on it and they get paid by the click!

    1. I also think then can offer more substance than this. This show seems to lack the spiritual element that was so important in the beginning. Now it's a lot of Look At Me.

    2. Couldn't have said it better myself. I would have never known that they share clothes if I hadn't seen this clip.

  12. Michelle looks stunning in that picture, she looks like their sister...I want was she's drinking...lol🤗

  13. Why does Jessa say she likes shirts loose now post baby, when she clearly wore things very tight all through her pregnancy. She wasn't very modest in my opinion, some of her tops were very tight. She could have chosen maternity dresses and tops that were much more flattering.

    1. I didn't understand the tight pregnancy tops, either.

  14. It seems.abit odd to be talking about sharing outfits when only Jana Jinger and Joy live at home out of older girls (and they're different body shapes).. I also doubt the married girls go back home and borrow or switch clothing..

    ReplyDelete
  15. I don't think they borrow clothing anymore. Jessa and Jill are married and I doubt they still do now and Joy and other girls are different sizes.. unless it's a maxi dress I do not think they still would share

    ReplyDelete
  16. Not being rude but "Jessa and Jinger giving fashion advice"?. They spoke only about themselves and showed supposed favourite outfits, Jingers looks like nothing she has ever worn. Really odd and useless clip.

  17. These new videos for the series seem abit odd and scripted..not hating but I think these videos are more for ratings than for the fans anymore.

  18. I love your show. I'll be glad when you are back on TV. Glad to see you girls are keeping the show going, I really like the show a lot. I just hope you girls get to keep the show going. Keep holding your heads up and You girls will do fine.

  19. I appreciate how the readers on this page kindly correct the rude comments. It does not seem odd at all, for t Jessa to be participating with her sister Jinger. even though she does not live there. Because the siblings can always reflect on lessons they have learned. They did share a closet for some time after all. Adults share or borrow clothes from time to time. If Jessa is nursing, she has a right to dress so she is comfortable or is able to feed her son easily. In addition, having Jessa on webisodes just before the second season of Counting On airs...seems to be self explanatory. It is a shame how so many commenters just want to shame this or anyone else's blog. There is always time to be kind and caring. Even by simply keeping your opinions to yourself. Or by finding a better way to spend your time.

  20. Dear girls,
you inspired me to wear only skirts. I started to change my clothes last year because I wanted to wear more skirts and now I want to wear only skirts. It is just amazing and looks pretty womanly! Thank you! God bless you so much!
