Duggars in TN

As we mentioned last week, the Duggar family--including Josh and Anna Duggar and their kids--visited the Bates clan in East Tennessee two weekends ago. Here are a few snapshots from the Clark family, fans who attended both Trace and Carlin's graduation party and Sunday morning service at the Bates' church.

...It took us 16 hours to get to TN, and we won the prize for being in a car the longest. It was so, so worth it!!  We weren't even sure if we would meet any of them so you can imagine how we felt meeting them for 2 days, as well as the Duggars!! Best weekend ever!  They are the sweetest people, so down to earth, taking time to get to know their fans. We arrived almost 2 hours early & they let us hang out with them while they set up. Such an honor and a lifetime of memories! Hope to see them again in the future!

Can you tell which Duggar kids are missing from these photos? (Click here to see the pictures that the Clarks took with the Bates family.)

    1. In Michelle's defense, sensible shoes make sense if you're walking around a lot, not level ground, etc. she can wear what she wants!

    2. Why the obsession with Michelle's shoes??? People are allowed to have different taste, you know.

    3. Michelle is the prettiest woman I've seen her age. She dresses decently but ruins her outfits with ugly shoes. Maybe that's why everyone is obsessed with her shoes?

    4. I thought those shoes were cute!! Very summer like. I would wear them. Michelle looked beautiful!

    6. I think it's better described as a lack of taste. People are allowed to have a lack of taste.

    7. I agree. If I were her daughter, I would encourage her to wear more stylish shoes.

    8. Stylish shoes are not always comfortable. Perhaps Michelle is one of the many people who suffers from foot problems and requires a certain kind of shoe. My old feet will take comfort over fashion misery any day.

    9. Perhaps, like a neighbor of mine, she's having some foot trouble and these are good supportive shoes (possibly even recommended by a podiatrist).

    10. @Annonymous 8:58--you actually cracked me up. You are so right. People ARE allowed to have a lack of taste. But it's still funny to actually be so truthful😃😃

  4. Okay I have a question, who is the Clark family? Do they know the Bates personally? Were they invited to the Bates' graduation/party?

  5. The Duggars are just such a Godly and wonderful family!! Man I want them ALL back on tv!!!! Just love this family!

  7. Are Josh and Anna living with the duggars?

  8. Aww love all the pics! But I have a question, I hardly ever see anything about Jeremiah on here!? Is there a reason for that? I see stuff all the time with Jedidiah but haven't seen anything with Jeremiah.

  9. For such a hardworking family, those Duggars sure do travel a lot!

    1. And this time TLC wasn't filming, so yikes - had to pay for it themselves.

    2. Most Americans are lucky to take even a few trips a year let alone every few weeks and many out of the country with over a dozen children in tow. It's amazing that they're able not only to afford it but to coordinate so much time away from work and responsibilities.

  11. I am impressed that reality stars such as the Duggars and Bates allow fans to be part of their events and take pictures. After all, I doubt any of us will be able to be part of any Kardashian event. Having said that, however, I feel uncomfortable when this appears on this blog. It seems like being so open and available as to invite fans into their private lives and encouraging them by posting pictures on this blog could open the door to critics or stalking. It's one thing when the reality stars appear at a public event; but seems another when family milestones are open to anyone. I assumed the Duggars themselves sent the pictures to Elli and Lily. I was surprised that the pictures came from random fans, like unprofessional paparazzi. I'm not articulating this very well, but something about it doesn't seem right.

    1. The Bates posted an open invitation to the graduation on their social media pages for the fans.. I would find it creepy but it's their wish to share this event

    2. I agree with the original comment. With random fans around snapping large amounts of pictures, it turns into a "continuing to sell our image" event for the Duggars. It has to be distracting for the organizers of the event and the actual persons being honored.

    3. Those massive WalMart gift registries aren't going to fulfill themselves.

  12. The public needs to stop treating the Duggars like royalty, for their own good. How can a family focus on themselves and heal their problems when the public is constantly wanting time with them?

Is it possible, though, that they prefer "public" time so they don't HAVE to face "private" things? Hmmmm.

    1. I agree - the more time you spend putting on your happy face for the public, the less time you spend facing other issues. But at the end of the day, which one of those goes home with you?

  13. Please bring this show back. Itbus wholesome and uplifting. I look forward to it every week. Don't let 1 bad apple spoil the good of the rest of the family. Please bring it back.

    1. He does look a lot slimmer. I hope so. He was starting to get a middle-age frump look, and he is way to young for that.

  15. So these people don't know the Bates or Duggars personally but they attended the graduation as fans?

    1. Per the request of the graduates, the party was open to the public. :)

    2. Was UP filming the Bates family? Did they need to fill seats to make it look like a crowd?

  16. How come Jeremiah is never in any of these pics? Haven't seen much of him on here.

  17. Glad the duggars attended the event but the attention should have been on the Bates children who the party was for

  18. Did anyone notice that Anna looks pregnant? I really hope she isn't. With all that's happened in the last year, I think that, not only do she and josh need some time to reconstruct their relationship, but Anna needs some personal space and not feel like she constantly has to meet Josh's needs - or that that will be the only way to keep the relationship strong. There are so many levels to a relationship - not just meeting his needs, to disagree with Michelle. A new baby won't fix the problem. Maybe they should try Natural Family Planning for a while.

  19. The Bates had an open invitation and encouraged others to attend...so it's their wish

  20. For all of the non Christian readers on this blog, please do not assume that the faith and practices the Duggars adhere to are representative of mainstream, legitimate Christians. We do NOT believe nor live as the Duggars do. Yes, Judaism and Christianity are close in their belief system about the Supreme Being. These people are not my representatives. BTW, I have grown up with the Jewish faith around me in all levels of practice and I have a great deal of respect for your faith and I am not trying to convert you.

    1. Please define" legitimate" Christian. I find the main problem with organized religion is that folks seem to be preoccupied with putting labels on others, or placing them in a neat box as being one thing or the other. Why is that? It just seems so counterproductive and passive-aggressive.

  21. Did this family crash the party uninvited?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, the party was open to fans.

  22. But still, these people took advantage of the Bates' hospitality by arriving early and asking them to pose for SO MANY pictures. How ridiculous.

    1. Maybe you should issue them a citation. The Duggars wouldn't have had a show and earned money from the show all those years without fans.

  23. I'm sorry. I just don't understand why the Bates family issued an open invitation to a graduation so that fans could come have their pictures taken with the Dugger family. I know it's their event and can invite whomever they wish. But it just seems weird.
