    1. Nope. It's Josh and Anna's three oldest kids, and then Israel and then Meredith and then Spurgeon. Israel was born in April of 2015 and Metedith wasn't born til the summer of 2015. 😊

  22. Children have names, not numbers. I wish you would use their names in the post titles when you're talking about birthdays, not some numbered birth order.

    1. It doesn't matter!we already know is for israel

    2. I agree - it's not really polite to reduce the children to a number. You can say "I have 5 grandchildren," but I'm sure you call them something other than 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.

  25. love all the pictures of the family. I'm really sad though. we had to cancel our cable due to increasing prices. I work from home as a seamstress and just starting out. so we are living on mostly one income. We got netflix and hulu and TLC is on HULU but not the Duggars. that makes me so sad. I'd really love it if they could add your show to TLC on HULU. if not just know that I love your family and think you are all beautiful inside and out. I pray your family is blessed.

    1. We no longer have cable because of the cost. Buy a nexus player and on it has an app call Kodi. As long as you have internet service, you can stream the show and it's free. If you are confused on how to work the nexus player and the kodi app then just google questions. That's how we figured it out.

  38. suprised she isnt pregnant again she got pregnant so quickly last time or is she being normal and using birth control

    ReplyDelete

    1. The nursing is possibly one reason.

      Delete
    2. My guess is that will be the next "surprise". She and Jessa will probably announce matching due dates!

    3. She is still nursing. Some women can't get pregnant when they are nursing. Like a natural birth control for some women.

  40. Happy 1st Birthday Israel! There are a lot of your fans out here that adore you too. I pray that you will come to know Jesus at an early age and love Him as your mom and dad do. All the pictures are special. However, if I had to choose my favorite it probably would be the very last one where you are with your mom and dad. Praying for you all in Central America.
    His blessings,
    Sandy B.

  47. Still nursing a ONE YEAR OLD? Obscene.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably widely done where they are.

    2. Watch your mouth. You're out of line. It's NOT obscene in the slightest. Get your mind out of the gutter.

    3. Why is it obscene?

    4. I have studied child development and childcare. If by nursing, you mean breast feeding, then it is highly appropriate for a one year old to still be nursed. Experts recommend breast feeding until 2 years of age. Breast milk has many benefits. Some of which are: 1- Breast milk is high in fat and low in protein, which is ideal for a developing nervous system, 2: during breast feeding, disease-fighting antibodies are transferred from the mother to the baby, 3: breast milk is easily digestible, which is ideal for developing digestive systems. 4: babies who are beast-fed for a longer amount of time tend to have a leaner growth pattern (their bodies are an ideal weight rather than obese) which continues through the preschool years and oftentimes beyond.
However, I don't see any photos which suggest that Israel is still breast feeding. If you are referring to the baby carrier shown in several of the photos, this is not inappropriate either. It is a good safety measure for keeping Israel near and safe when the family is on the move.
I am not criticizing, just clarifying :).

    5. Please keep your opinions to yourself. They can do what they want. I know a lot of one year olds who still nurse. Be nice

      Delete
    6. By the way, I know that nursing *does* mean breast feeding, and I do not consider carrying a baby in a baby carrier to be nursing. I was just confused because none of the photos suggest nursing. Now, I see that some of the previous comments mention nursing. I guess I overlooked them last time :).

  48. Happy Birthday Israel! Yes, it is hard to believe you are a year old already! May you and your family be blessed.
