  6. Why do they never post pic's of the proud parents? I feel it is creepy that they take a snap without the parents they are the people that this is all about not the people doing there job I am a nurse and I would never take a pic with a paitent as I am there to care for them in a professional manner not make it personal and keep a running track of jobs I have completed. Imagine a casher posing for a pic with you as they had over your change at the store!

    1. That is why people have home delivery, its more intimate, you choose to be surrounded by people whom you have built a relationship with, not everyone wants a stark cold atmosphere. BONUS, the Duggars are proffesional AND caring. I glad nurses these days are going back to the good old days of sensitivitsensitivity training, your training must b from the non-empathetic or sympathetic time period. I would love to have a pic of the person who helped bring them into the world ,Jill and Jana, rather than some unknown cold nurse. Godbless you girls, so proud of the job your doing. ;>}

    2. I have assisted midwives at quite a few homebirths. Most of the time the parents request and take a pic of the midwife team holding the new baby.

    I agree. I had two free standing birth center births and my first baby was caught (I delivered them!:) by a student midwife who I had just met but had seen the overseeing mw at my appts. Even though I only met her that night I felt a real connection with her as her care for me was thoughtful and personal. I have a pict of my baby with them. My second baby I don't have that picture but have Picts of my mw in them supporting me. I also feel a personal connection and remember who caught my baby. That type of setting fosters that and parents are happy to have the pictures to go along with their memories. I don't think being a part of bringing life into the world can be compared to a cashier giving a customer change. It's a different relationship and form of professionalism.

  9. @Anonymous You obviously aren't a labor and delivery nurse. We take pics with families and babies ALL THE TIME!
