Preorder "Growing Up Duggar"

The Duggar girls have been hard at work writing their first book, Growing Up Duggar. It is set to release on March 4th, 2014, and can be preordered on Christan Book, Amazon, or Barnes and Noble.

In their book, the four oldest Duggar girls give readers an inside look at what it's like to be a Duggar kid, as they talk about their own faith and perspectives on life. As they look at the different relationships in their lives, the girls share how they resolve conflict, their dreams and plans for the future, details on courtship vs. dating, and much more.

Extended Summary:
In a rare look inside America’s favorite mega-sized family, the four eldest girls talk about their faith, their dreams for the future, and what it’s like growing up a Duggar.

Airing weekly throughout the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, 19 Kids and Counting has transformed the Duggar family into a media phenomenon. The Duggar children are frequently asked, “Tell the truth; do you really agree with the lifestyle your parents have created for you?” Now, the four eldest Duggar girls—Jana, Jill, Jessa, and Jinger—open up about the blessings and advantages of living the Duggar lifestyle.

With a backdrop of the key relationships in their lives—relationship with self, parents, siblings, friends, boys, and God—the four Duggar girls write about their own personal faith and convictions, boys, dating, manners, living in a large family, politics, and much more. You’ll learn how the family navigates the difficult years between twelve and sixteen and what the girls look for in a man, all in a frank and fun book that will inspire teens and adults alike.

Including lighthearted stories about the younger kids’ antics, Growing Up Duggar is a wise and entertaining trip into a family like no other.

  6. I hope they have their own faith and not the faith or their parents. maybe their parents would let them go on and live their own dream and not stay home and raise the younger ones. hope jessa tells us what she sees in courting a guy who is 18.

  11. I hope, they understand the value, what they have given, and the responsibility to stay true,to themselves and faithful to God, not to cave in on all the pressures of what other people, might say, or think about them. I see Bob,and Michelle as two very strong people in their faith, and really not letting what others think bother them. It has been changeling for me,coming from a large family, and when I am asked why, I chose to do things, the way my parents did, or did not . I really have come to see how blessed I was to have been the oldest child of 14. children, and it was not always easy, but with God on your side all things are possible with him

  13. I hope the book contains new information. I certainly don't want them to share memories that are too personal but maybe some new stories that give us insight into their lives as kids and teens. For years we have heard the same stories of what homeschool and courtship is. I loved the episode when Jana talked about her struggles with Jessa and the jewelry box. I hope the book contains more stories like that, ones that give us lessons and a little peek into their lives.

  14. The Duggar's make more money personally if you pre-order, so they will be pushing pre-order big time. When it goes into sales on other web sites, the other web sites get a cut, so you will see a whole lot of advertising to pre-order going on. Wait a few weeks after it is out, and you will find many for sale where people pre-ordered, read it, and are ready to sell it used.

  19. I'm only fifteen, and I love watching the Duggars on TV. The four eldest girls are really great role models, as is the rest of the family. I somehow feel connected to them because they have a lot of similarities to the lifestyle my family practice, with the exception of having to deal with so many siblings since I'm in a small family of four. I'd love to read this book to learn things I may need now that I'll soon be in their age group as well. Hope it turns out wonderfully, and I'm sure it will, and that many teens will learn something out of it too. God Bless the Duggars! And Lily and Ellie for all the info!

  20. I just finished reading this book and it is my favorite duggar book so far! I am 34 with 4 kids, not exactly the "audience" that the girls were probably targeting with this book but it was bursting with parenting inspiration and touched my heart. I ended up "underlining" the majority of the book lol. It was filled with specific parenting tips and examples that I would have paid double to learn about. They also shared new stories and advice instead of the same ones that have been rehearsed over and over again. I've often thought about how remarkable the Duggar children have to be simply from being raised by such incredible parents who were both on the same page with the same spiritual focus from the get-go. This book confirms that. The words written throughout this book pour out wisdom well beyond their years. LOVED this!! Great job girls!!!!
