Interview with Jana Duggar and Erin Bates

In the following video interview, Jana Duggar and Erin Bates talk about their experiences on Journey to the Heart. The first part of the interview is focused on Erin, and Jana is introduced at 7:45.

Journey to the Heart is a ten-day retreat created for young men and women and now also available for parents. Jana and her sisters have all attended the Journey as participants and as volunteers. Participants meet in the Chicago suburbs and drive up to the Northwoods Conference Center in Watersmeet, Michigan, with the goal of drawing near to God, while enjoying the beautiful outdoors and forming lifelong friendships. Click here for more information on the Journey.

  1. How many times can you possibly say Journey? Poor Jana it seem like the interviewer forgot about her and quickly at the end remember to ask her something. Also Erin looks a lot like Kristen Dunst in Interview with a Vampire.

  2. The interviewer, Laura, talks a bit too much. This was a platform to interview Erin and Jana; not for her to babble on and on. All in all, it was interesting to know a little bit about what happens when these girls go on a Journey of the Heart. As an aside; the girls looked a little weary; late nights at the JOH???

  3. Wonderful Interview! It is nice to hear them confess that they are not perfect, nobody is. I think many people do think that the duggars a perfect and in reality they are not. Anyway great interview and thanks for posting!

  7. Enjoyed seeing the girls and I think the world of them, but really did not get much of anything out of the interview. It seemed like a lot of talking but not really saying much. Maybe its just me. ?

  9. Where's the interview with Jana? As much as I like Erin Bates, now Erin Paine, I would have loved to see Jana's take on her Journey through the Heart as well.

  12. I am a forty one year old single mother. I love watching your family grow. When I was a little girl we had shows like "Little House on the Prairie" which showed the simplicity of living a wholesome and pure life. Now, today the way you all live seems so foreign to most of us here in Los Angeles, California. It's nice to see stuff on T.V that shows real family dynamics and values. Being fed a steady diet of "Desperate Housewives, "Tosh.O" and other such shows makes me crave for more shows like yours. I wish I lived in a community such as yours. I know both my son and I would truly benefit from it. When you don't come from a solid background of faith though it is hard to make those types of changes as a grown adult without much guidance. I hope you continue to grow and solidify each other in your faith and love. Thanks for giving us all a taste of what some "veggies" to a solid diet of "candy" can do. :)

  13. How come Jana does not talk much and all her siblings talk over her? She is the olderst girl and she derved to be respected.

  14. The interviewer Laura - talked way too much. She had great things to say & explain. But I feel that BOTH Erin and Jana could have explained their personal time in 'Journey to the Heart' better in THEIR own words.

It was interesting that they only have one mic for an two person interview. So whom ever sits in front of the mike will of course get to speak more then the person sitting next to them. I think interviews that concern Jana Duggar and Erin Bates members of two well known large families in America; there should have been two mikes. The interviewer - Laura - should have acklowdeged BOTH of them instead of just the person (Erin) whom was sitting in front of the mike.
