Duggars' Recording Project

Hope all our American readers had a wonderful 4th of July. The Duggars have just announced that they are working on a "special project." They shared a video (embedded below) of eight-year-old Josie Duggar singing "The Star Spangled Banner" at a recording studio, with prompting from Michelle Duggar. The Counting On film crew was present, as well.

We will keep you updated on this endeavor and will release more details as we are able.

    1. Some kids have their own sense of style and will want to wear it even if it's not right for the season :)

    2. Either she was dressed that way because she'd be in air conditioning, or she dressed that way herself because she's 8 and she wanted to! :)

      Delete
    3. Because its cold in a recording studio..

      Delete
    4. Because she wants to! Seriously, why are you picking on the clothes of an innocent little girl!

      Delete
    5. Maybe because this was filmed a little while ago when it was still cold.

      Delete
    6. Recording studios are cold. Any more complaints?

    7. I agree that Josie likely picked out that outfit herself. But does Michelle get praised for letting her daughter make independent decisions? No, of course not. Wonder if the people picking on Josie are also the same people who accuse the Duggar parents of being too strict and controlling.

  5. How are her health problems?

    1. She’s probably outgrown them by now

    2. She does look small. Maybe she has growth problems.

      Delete
    3. 1:16, most of the Duggars are short

      Delete
    4. Josie is small for her family and blends in with children much years younger than her. She is tiny compared to Mackenzie who is a few months older than her.

    5. 10.08 Jackson is also similar to Josie , a slight build, he too is short for his age. I think Johanna is taller than him in a recent pic I saw.

  6. Wow! Josie has an amazing singing voice!

  7. Why an old and to big shirt? This does not seem to fit.

    1. You have nothing nice to say? Her choice of clothing for the day is no concern of yours, who ever you are. Just be nice, OK? My comment is anonymous also as I do not have an account. You are free to think what you want but just don't post negative comments. Other wise, have a good day.

    2. How do you know it's old?

    3. Her clothes are fine.

    4. Look...I do not agree with "everything" the Duggars do,however,I do not post it out of respect. I will say that original poster was correct. They do not dress Josie nice ever. Seems like they could afford clothes that match and fit.

    5. Really?! That sweet little girl is singing in an amazing voice, and doing it over and again to get it right. And you are saying negative things about the clothes that she is wearing. Why?!?!

      Delete
    6. The young Duggars do not look so stylish as their older sisthers. Maybe they should help out more.

    7. I think she looks adorable!. Whats wrong with what shes wearing? And why the need to point that out?. Shes a little girl with her own style. Maybe shes wearing big sisters shirt or her own, doesnt matter either way. Shes a dorable and her voice is so sweet. When I was a kid I would get so excited when I got hand me downs. They didnt always fit perfect but I would still wear them with a big smile and excitement and thankfulness. Didnt have to be new, new to me was just as good. ❤

    8. I don't understand why people put down an adult because their not, (dress to kill)-which means they are wearing very smart or fashionable clothes because they want people to notice them and think they are attractive.) Now picking on a sweet eight year old girl. Is their no shame???Jane

    9. The outfit actually looks like something an 8 year old girl would have picked out herself. As others have suggested in replies to another post here. So instead of grumbling "the Duggars do not dress Josie nice", why not actually praise Michelle them for giving her some freedom to make her own decisions?

BTW I don't even recall how Josie usually dresses because in any pic of her I focus on how happy and healthy she is, she not only survived her very premature birth but is thriving!

Sadly, many other babies born that early went to their Maker, or survived but are now very disabled. I know some people have questioned whether Josie still has developmental delays, but she is not institutionalized or needing around the clock nursing care. God bless her!

  8. Michelle looks fantastic! But the skirt is to short

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. How long do you think it needs to be? It looks to be about knee length.

      Delete
    2. Her skirt is not “to” short. Some might think it’s too short but I think she looks great.

      Delete
    3. Michelle's skirt? What makes you say that?

      Delete
    4. No it's not!

      Delete
    5. I think original poster meant the skirt is simply much shorter than Michelle's usual style. Cool off I do not thing they meant it negative. It looks nice on her just not the normal length for her.

      Delete
    6. Just wow! Your opinion means nothing to them.

      Delete
    7. You can bearly see it
It also looked like see had tights on so a short skirt would be ok

      Delete
    8. I agree, an olderly lady needs long skirts.

      Delete
    9. It's hard to see how short Michelle's skirt really is. IF it is knee length (or shorter), that is not the length we usually see her wearing in public posts. Usually, she is wearing well past knee length or longer. Maybe she is changing her look?

    10. 4:34 - What?!?! I think that we put w-a-y too much emphasis on fashion and the body that wears it. I’ll be the first to admit that I fall into that trap, asking myself, “Is this color too bold; does this make me look fat; am I too old to wear this?” But I wish I weren’t so dependent on social dictates. People should have the choice of wearing what makes them feel good about themselves in spite of age, weight, coloring, etc. People should NOT wear clothes that self-proclaimed fashion critics think they should wear. I celebrate Michelle and Josie for who they are and respect their clothing choices.

  9. Wow!! Miracle girl! What a testimony to what God can do! Above and beyond what we can even see! I think of how He answered the many prayers for this little girl when she was born.

  10. I have been waiting for this since she sang on 19 kids and counting at 4!What a precious miracle she is!!

  11. I'm glad Josie likes to sing. It's always good to make a "joyful noise unto the Lard".

  12. Josie, has a beautiful voice. I hope they put up some videos we can see of her and the all of the Duggar family. Josie and Michelle both look like they have about the same length skirt. I just hope they stay away from those leggings and real short skirts.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Maybe Josie can sing some with Lawson Bates. Josie sounds like she is really good.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Oh my goodness! First, Josie looks just fine- like a lot of other little girls putting an outfit together. IAs for Michelle- would you like her to wear a suit of armor. Jacket, dark tights, she is always covered. Focus on what they are doing NOT wearing. By the way- how do you dress?

    1. Michelle looks beautiful and youthful as always. Josie has always been cute but also is very pale and has physical abs mental delays due to her premature birth. I hope she is getting help for her "glitches" as michelle calls them. It's be sad if her parents never provide her with the type of help micro premies need as they grow and develop into adulthood. My niece was born at 26wks 3 days and was only an ounce bigger than Josie. She had the typical issues babies that little face. Fortunately she has no lasting effects from being born so early aside from being susceptible to pneumonia. She is 19 now and thriving in all aspects of life. Her parents were able to place her in therapy at a young age to help with her delayed abilities. She was caught up with her peers by the time she started kindergarten... unfortunately I don't think Josie ever had any of that...

    2. What mental delays are you talking about, 11:50? Please enlighten us, since we have not been informed about this.

  17. Josie is a miracle. She has blossomed into a lovely young lady. We miss seeing all the younger Duggars. Isn't it about time to add the rest of the family to the television show.

    1. No, because their show was supposedly canceled, although you can't tell it by the way everyone appears on this "other" show. If you get sent to your room for stealing from the cookie jar, nobody is supposed to slip you a package of cookies while you're there.

    2. The rest of the family, minus Josh, have been on the show. Jim Bob and, especially, Michelle have been featured more frequently in the past two seasons. Josie and Michelle were featured during Joy and Austin's cake tasting in particular. We also saw the kids during the water day.
I agree with 1:06 that 19KC was canceled and for good reason. I like seeing the younger kids but think they should be able to be kids away from the camera and not constantly on show for our entertainment. The last season of 19 Kids they looked bored and sullen in their interviews. They may appreciate not having to film so frequently. They were pretty much working from birth.

      Delete
    3. 1:06, Josh hasn’t returned to the show, and really he’s the only one who should be gone

    4. What would you do if you were an employer and you found out that your employees were keeping facts from you or hiding something that should have been a police matter? Wouldn't everyone involved be fired? And so they supposedly were. I think it's gracious of TLC to let any of the Duggars back on their network ever again. And I also think it's a bad decision, all around, for everyone's sake.

      Delete
    5. @1:06 I don't know how people can expect Counting On not to show other family members. Jessa and Jill never lived on their own islands. They have a family.

      Delete
    6. Dillards won't return and it was their choice

      Delete
    7. Anon@6:42- Not sure why the rest of the family should be filmed. I don't think it's healthy for kids to be growing up with cameras rolling. How much of it is "reality" or not is anyone's guess. The entire family has had an extensive run on TV. Perhpas it's time for all of them to let it go and salvage some kind of privacy.

  25. Good job Josie!!! Connie I'll be praying for you. I was just reading James:14-15.

  26. It is nice to see Michelle interacting one-on-one with Josie. Please also show some clips one-on-one with other children. It would be nice to see her doing things with just Jordyn or just Jenni as well.

  27. Noticed when they panned to the family watching Josie record someone was on a walker. Does anyone know who that is and why?

    1. The little girls are gathered around the walker, but there is a pair of legs with pants and black shoes on the right side, on a sofa. I couldn't guess whose legs those are.
