Duggar/Caldwell Wedding Details

"It took a while for it to come together. We didn't know half the stuff we wanted."
-Kendra Caldwell (now Kendra Duggar)

Joseph and Kendra Duggar have been married three weeks. They have not yet revealed their honeymoon location, but when they do, we will share it with you all. In this video, filmed before their big day, Joe and Kendra chat about the details of their wedding, including colors, decor, and food.

  2. Joseph Caldwell. Just seeing what that would look like. Derick Duggar. Ben Duggar. Kind of makes more sense on those last two since they've really folded themselves more into their wives' family. What if it were customary to exchange names when you marry? Kendra Duggar and Joseph Caldwell.

  3. Did they serve any other food other than cupcakes?

  4. I'm at the "who cares" point with this wedding. The show is still showing us how Joy got ready for her wedding (or not). They haven't even begun on Joe & Kendra yet. She'll be pregnant by the time they do.

  5. You guy's are so cute!!! My question for the Duggars is where can I fined modest formal dresses for my teen niece's for my upcoming wedding? I am struggling to fined a whole lot of options.

    1. Hi there,

Here's a website that some of the Duggars and Bates have ordered from: http://daintyjewells.com/bridesmaids/

      Hope your wedding is wonderful!

    2. They don’t do modest anymore.

  6. Ellie,
I was wondering...where is the "showtimes" tab? It seems to no longer exist. I think there used to be one where we could view the upcoming counting on episodes...

    1. Hi there,

Thanks for the heads-up! It's back. I apologize for the technical glitch.

  7. Can I just say I love Kendra? I love that she doesn't just stare at her man the whole time. I'm all respecting your husband, but it's nice to hear speak for herself. Right on Kendra! You don't need to look for approval for every tiny thing you say. Trust that your spouse is behind you. These two are the real deal y'all!

    1. How'd you like to be the wedding planner for a couple who thinks that details aren't a big deal? They'd be impossible to work with, if they're not taking details seriously and can't make decisions.

    2. The details aren't a big deal because they have dozens of people helping and taking care of everything.

      Delete
    3. Or maybe they'd be easier to work with if they're not obsessing that everything has to be "just so."

    4. Kendra is totally naive if she thinks details aren't a "big deal" for a wedding that size.

    5. If you don't plan the details, you get people dropping down from above at your wedding, whether you want them to or not.

  9. I've never attended a wedding where only snacks, ice cream, or cupcakes were served, like the Duggars. Is this a regional thing? I was always taught to show hospitality towards guests by providing them with a decent meal.

    1. I live in Los Angeles, and I've been to a "cake and punch" wedding. Not common now, but I understand it used to be back in the day.

    2. I think that if you serve cake and punch and some other little snacks, that is hospitality enough.I grew up thinking that just having cake and punch is normal for a wedding. It wasnt until a few years ago that I discovered that people can serve meals at their wedding. If you as a guest feel like you are entitled to a meal, you are wrong. As long as you feed your guests some kind of refreshments, that is good enough. Meals are great too if that is what you want. Its totally optional.Besides, some couples just can't afford serving a whole meal.

    3. "Back in the day" if a family threw a pitsy reception with only a couple snacks, the couple likely wasn't then heading off on a multi-week, multi-country honeymoon abroad. Tacky.

    4. Since when did just cake and punch become unacceptable for a Wedding? We are there to support the bride and groom, not for the meal.

  10. I'm not sure why the honeymoon location is a surprise If it was 3 weeks ago? It's as if they have to drag out the details as much as possible to have a storyline so people will continue to watch
Also was the only food at the wedding cake and cupcakes ? I never heard mention of any other foods

    1. I don't think that's right for people to travel long distances to attend their weddings and have to spend who knows how much for food, lodging and gas to not even have so much as a small meal at the reception. TLC pays for the whole wedding and honeymoon so why would this family cut corners only where it comes to the guest being served a meal? Who doesn't serve a meal for their guest like this? Sheesh

    2. Even if they tell I will still watch the show

    3. How do you know TLC pays for the weddings? I remember Jimbob saying once he had 9 weddings to pay for. I don't think TLC pays for EVERYRHING.

    4. Joy did the same thing (skimpy reception food), yet we learned last night that she put on a big Mexican spread for the rehearsal dinner. Why couldn't they have done that for the wedding, too?

    5. I think the Duggars skip the full meal because they have all been very eager to get out of there as quickly as possible. I like Austin and Joy, but they especially made a big deal about it - they even told their guests that they wouldn't be staying for long. It seemed kind of rude to me, but I guess it was there wedding...
The only other reason for having skimpy food options at the wedding that I can think of is that they didn't want to pay for a full meal for that many guests - but my guess would be that they (or TLC) can totally afford that, so that's probably not the reason.

  11. I hope they follow Jinger's example and hold off on the baby making. Especially with the way these kids court, the married ones need at least 2 years to be together before they start having a child every year.

  12. This video is actually very sweet. Kendra is cute when she warns Joe not to get any cake on her dress when they're at the reception. Very sweet.

  13. These two are so cute; they appear to be a great match. I think that this is the most comfortable we have seen them with each other yet.
