Joseph and Josiah Share Their Hobbies

Thank Goodness It's Friday! Our readers are constantly asking what the older Duggar siblings are up to these days. In the TLCme video clip below, Joseph Duggar and Josiah Duggar share their hobbies and career training with interviewer Danni Star.

  1. How much of this interview was done? Why is it being released in spurts? It's quite annoying to me, just release the whole thing and be done with it. Not a good PR move in my opinion.

  2. Wow her shirt was very immodest. How do the boys handle it when others dress like that around them? They seemed respectful but it must have been difficult

    1. I did not find her top immodest at all, and do not understand what problem the boys would have. When I speak to someone I make eye contact with them, I wouldn't stare anywhere else. I keep reading narrow minded and judgemental comments on this blog. Very unchristian in my opinion.

    2. Same interview segment already flooded with opinion over that top.
TLC controls her wardrobe and makeup.

    4. Not all guys notice stuff like that.

    5. There is nothing wrong with what the interviewer was wearing.

    6. A tiny peephole is very immodest?!? Imgine if she was wearing a low cut top!? Lol. The 'boys' are grown men and should be able to have an interview without an trouble. If your at the beach do you spend the whole time staring at men in speedos or do you move on with your life?!

    8. I didn't like seeing it and I'm not a 20-something guy with eyes and an imagination, sitting right there, like those guys are. It's disrespectful to put someone in a potentially uncomfortable situation by doing something right in front of them that you know they don't approve of. It's like taking a drink in front of a recovering alcoholic, or lighting a cigarette in front of someone who quit. It's unnecessary temptation, and Danni AND her producers at TLC should all know that. Shame on all of them. It shows how little respect they really have for this family.

    9. The thing that irks me is they keep promoting this lady in her immodest tops. I don't get it. They keep showing her over and over. And yes, I agree it is TLC that buys her wardrobe, the very people who know very well the Duggar standards. Why wouldn't they respect them? Why wouldn't Jim Bob put his foot down and demand she put a sweater on to interview his family? Money is definitely the root of all evil!

    10. Her shirt is long sleeved and high necked. Other than a small peephole I cant see where the extreme immodesty comes into play. Maybe she should wear a burka next time. Its is funny to me how people are so offended by Danni's top but if anyone says anything about the skin tight maternity wear weve seen the Duggar women wear then the bible verses start flowing and the chastising begins. Immodesty is immodesty, regardless of who it is.

    11. Well, she isn't a Duggar. So I don't see why you are making a big deal about it๐Ÿ™„

    12. Do you really think Danni has a say in what she wears? TLC has people who dress her. She just wears and ask what questions they tell her to.

    13. Anonymous @ 10:57 AM, it's not disrespectful to expect grown men to take responsibility for their own thoughts, feelings, and actions. If something is making you uncomfortable due to certain moral convictions, it's up to you to remove yourself from the situation. Please don't compare this to addiction.

      Delete
    14. Obsession with women and their bodies can indeed be an addiction for some men, 3:26am. And how did you expect those boys to "remove" themselves if they were uncomfortable? They HAVE to sit there and be interviewed. They have contracts with TLC. So it's up to TLC to make the situation comfortable for the boys.

    15. Anonymous @ 10:08 AM, I stand by my previous comment. If Joseph or Josiah were in any way uncomfortable, they could have spoken up, and yes, even declined to be interviewed. Contracts can be (re)negotiated.

      Delete
    16. Anon @ 10.08 you are correct in saying they have a contract however they also have legal people who would approve contracts and make changes to them. The Duggars pre approve things all the time ( mostly questions the will and wont answer) so perhaps they should not partcipate in anymore sit downs. It is totally ridiculous to keep blaming the interviewer. If these young men are so at risk from a covered up woman they should just stay at home.

  3. Thanks for all of the work that you do to make this blog possible. Anymore though, I have a REALLY hard time watching videos without them being REALLY glitchy due to all of the pop-up ads! It's kind of frustrating.

  4. Do the Duggars know that TLC has other programs about transgender children, polygamous families and homosexual people? What do they think about that? I have always been curious that they allow their television show to be aired on the same network that airs other shows that do not align with the Duggars beliefs

    2. There are other channels with more wholesome programming, such as UP. The Bates decided that UP was the better program for them. I have always wondered why the Duggars don't leave TLC. Maybe TLC pays more.

    3. I'm sure they are aware of that and if they placed their opinion on it, I'm sure people like you would have a lot to say about it. It's their opinion and they want to keep it their selves. People need to get over it๐Ÿ™„

    1. Those questions must be reviewed in advance, practiced, and taped a few times. We'll probably never get an impromptu question or answer in any of these interviews. Josh told us that even the old 19KAC show had multiple takes of the same shot inside the house, where they were supposed to be "acting natural" and going about their routines. It's all staged and edited.

    2. In the interview, one of the young men said that he is a licensed realtor and will be working with family members in the real estate business. The other one has a private pilot's license, but it was not made clear what he actually does for a living. It was also mentioned that they continue to fix up cars and sell them.

  11. Danni has terrible interview skills. She comes across as cold and stiff and insincere. Her questions are not deep or well thought out and they don't lead anywhere. Very very boring.

    1. Danni has no say in what questions she asks, the duggars and TLC do. I know someone who works for TLC and the duggars pre approve or deny the questions before the interview. God bless

  12. This woman's clothing didn't bother me in the least. What was bothersome and uncomfortable for me to watch was her body language and the way she was leaning forward, uncomfortably during this interview. She needed to sit up straight like the Duggar brothers were sitting. No need to lean in so.

  13. All this talk about the interviewers attire is laughable and made me remember the time the family were at Dollywood and met the fabulous Ms Parton in person. Dolly isn't just famous for her singing and no matter what she wears you cannot hide them (if you get my drift)but no one said a thing and they were all excited to meet a real star and no one batted an eyelid. Dolly Parton shows a true christian spirit, she will speak up about her faith, she is non judgemental and kind to everyone and is very charitable. I think quite a few could take a lesson from her.

  14. People, people! Put the irrelevant conversation about this woman's choice of clothing to rest! It is not a problem. Danni is a professional journalist who is good at what she does. Josiah and Joseph have grown into responsible. gentlemen. They have chosen to be reality stars in a public forum and can handle each event well. It bothers me that people are not as interested in the interview as they are in judging what is appropriate and what isn't. Get real! Let these young men have their deserved time in public forum and hear what they have to say without judgement on the interviewer's clothing. Good grief! I can't overstate how ridiculous this thread is! I can't believe I'm bothering to comment on it!

    1. The thing is, 11:30, the "boys" have nothing to say. What is the point of these interviews anyway????

      Delete
    2. Your point is well-taken. I don't mind a discussion concerning the interview itself. You are probably right. And some people may have liked hearing from the boys. My issue was with the inane thread about what the interviewer wore.

  15. So is joe's realtor thing a job or a hobby? Is Josiah's interest in flying a hobby or a job? I am confused. The Duggars don't answer anything directly and make the simplest answer confusing.

  16. I don't see where the unmarried Duggars work outside of the home to earn a paycheck. It sounds like they work at home. The boys work for their dad, doing whatever has to be done on the land for a allowance and the girls work inside the house for their allowance. It sounds like what I do now, being retired.

    1. It sounds like what I did until I was 16. Then I was legally old enough to work outside the home--and then wisely my parents said "get a job"!! Yes, I did the fast food round during high school and college. Great experience. I have since done that with my children. Allowances are for children. Not able-bodied adults.
