Dillard Update

Jill (Duggar) and Derick Dillard recently announced their decision to begin international missions, something they have been planning for the past several months. They shared their plans with their families earlier this year and with Derick's boss at Walmart Corporate in May.

The Dillards have been busy preparing for their departure and tying up loose ends in the United States. They have also been traveling to visit relatives who have not yet met Israel.

After celebrating Independence Day with family this weekend, the Dillards left the United States to begin their new lives as full-time missionaries.

There are rumors floating around about where the Dillards are serving, but anyone who reveals that information before Jill and Derick desire for it to be released is going against their wishes. For security reasons, Jill and Derick would like to keep the details of their journey confidential for the time being. The couple has requested prayer as they begin their journey.

  2. I would imagine they are going back to Nepal. It makes sense since Derrick has spent so much time there and since this came up suddenly with the recent disaster in Nepal. Jill is very brave taking such a young young baby!

  6. I wish them all the best in their new journey. It's very brave of them to leave friends and family to start this mission. Especially with a young child, I admire their will to help others.

  10. It would be nice to know a bit more about the ministry before donating. If they want to keep the location secret that is fine. However, knowing what the plans are for the ministry, the % of funds going to the family vs. towards others, etc. would be nice to know. If 100% of the funds are going to the family as payment (their job) then I'd like to know what they are doing. The very vague information they've provided isn't enough.

That said, I love this family and I would love to support their ministry.
