Quotes from the Fox Interview

Here is the first batch of quotes from Megyn Kelly's interview with the Duggars, which aired this evening on the Fox News Channel:
  • Jim Bob: "Our son violated God's principles of doing some improper touching. That was terrible. What Josh did was inexcusable but it was not unforgivable."
  • Jim Bob makes it clear that a pedophile is "an adult who preys on children." Josh was a 14-year-old child who preyed on children.
  • What's next for the Duggars? Jim Bob: "I don't know if the rest of our family should be punished for the act of one of our children.
  • The Duggar Dad says his family is "fine whether they film us or not." They say they plan to go on with their lives.
  • Jim Bob says this was an "unprecedented attack" on his family and that the information about Josh's actions as a teenager "was released illegally."
  • Jim Bob says he is not sure why the press is targeting his family instead of the ones who illegally released the records.
  • "Hopefully justice will be served on the ones who released juvenile records," says Jim Bob. He says he does not want this to happen to other children.

  5. So thankful the real truth is out. My heart breaks for everyone. The media has lied and been so cruel bringing this up,rehurting these young woman to make this Christian family look bad. Shame on every person doing this to them. This will backfire because God will turn this around for His glory.I lvd and admired this family before, but that is so much stronger now. I will cont to pray for all, esp these precious young women and josh.

  8. I feel for the Duggars as they are enduring the criticism from others. I believe they explained very well the situation at hand. We need to uplift this family in prayer.

  13. I am so sorry your family is going through everything. While what Josh did was "inexcusable," he got help & apologized. As Christians we are by no means perfect, but we are forgiven through God's Grace. As Jesus said, "Let those without sin cast the first stone."
May you find comfort in the Lord.

  14. It's very sad what is happening to the Duggars girls going through this horrific situation again and than being identified by police records that should be sealed. I thought the law protects victims it's horrible what the family is going through especially the parents I think they handle the situation as best as they could because its hard for any parent to chose between there kids regardless of gender. I also know that when something like molestation happens to a child parents feel horrible. The only reason this is happening to them is because they are famous its sad how the tabloids feast on such horrible situations and celebrates ungodly behavior like Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner who will always be a man regardless of what he does to his body. The media should back off from the Duggar family and leave them alone.

  15. I thought Jim Bob and Michelle did an excellent job answering questions!

  16. Love and miss you Duggars, Dillards & Seewalds. I'm appalled that TLC abandoned you in this challenging time as well as the people who seek to destroy you. I am not Christian and am very much Live and Let Live but, I love and respect your family for sharing your lives with us. I am so sorry that these people have done this and I hope that they get their due justice.

  17. Leave this family alone they are hurting already.

  18. I like the Duggars and they are right about the justice system! It failed to protect the ones invloved. It's true the media should be attacking the ones who released the information and not the family. Why blame the whole family for what one person did? If people don't like the Duggars then don't watch the Duggars! No one is forcing anyone to watch their show or believe what they believe, I know I don't believe everything they say but I like to watch their show, that's for sure! I'm a fan!

  21. Wonderful interview tonight . I am anxious to see Jessa and Jill on Friday . This was an illegal act of the police employee's who provided a sealed minor's record to In Touch Magazine . That woman's act was illegal , and should be punished . I am so Team Duggar , even more so after tonight's interview .

    ReplyDelete
  22. Jim Bob repeated several times in the interview that Josh came to them first to report what he had done, in both instances. Reports prior had said that a daughter went to him. Which is it? In the police report and in the drawings the girls reported where they had been touched, yet Jim Bob & Michelle said that the girls didn't know it had happened, so which is it???? Completely confused.

  23. God's forgiveness and restoration are two "concepts" non-Christians, and even some Christians, have a difficult time grasping. We are praying for the Duggar Family, and we hope to see them back on TV next season!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Stay strong because we know God will use this for His good. It is so sad that the unsaved cannot accept or understand the principles of forgiveness and redemption. Be assured there are plenty of
people like me that are standing with you. God Bless your beautiful family.

  25. Prayers for this whole family. I cannot imagine what they all must be going thru right now

    ReplyDelete
  26. The people who released the sealed information should be punished I hope the duggars, take legal action and they should be compensated in some way...a public apology should also take place. And that pig of a cop I hope he rots in jail in furious at the injustice of this situation ...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I still support you guys you all are in my prayers it breaks my heart when I seen Jill cry I just wanted to reach threw the tv and hug her the past is the past and no one should have hurt you all

  28. I Love this family. Praise God for this wonderful family. Love you my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. Ryan.M

  29. I am in prayer for the Duggar family. I am also in prayer that justice will be served in regard to the illegal release of the juvenile record. I also believe it was to fulfill an agenda against the family, for whatever reason. And yes, I do hope TLC continues to film 19 Kids and Counting because it is one of the very few shows I actually encourage my children to watch.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I completely agree with everything they said. I have never seen Michelle so upset ,in all the years on TV and everything they have gone through, I was broken hearted to see her so upset about the effect this has on her daughters. They are great parents and even better role models than before. They are handling this wonderfully and in the way they should. Always praying for them.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I love you Duggar Family, you don't deserve any of this terrible treatment!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I believe in the Duggars and their values. At the time they did what they could. The release of the files was in revenge for some reason. I hope that they go after the person who did this.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think the Duggars are a good family that are living the way God wants us to live, I love them and I love there show and I hope it is not taken off TLC.

    ReplyDelete
  34. josh knew it was wrong so he confessed.so if he really was sorry and knew it was wrong why did he do it again and again and to 5 different girls.thats not right.he needs to b punished.and from personal experence the girls will never forget whatt happened to them and one day it might all come to a head.im very sorry the girls had to go threw this.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am so glad they did the interview. Knowing that Josh and the girls got legitimate counseling is huge. And hearing confirmation that they truly thought going to the trooper was fulfilling legal steps was a relief.
They did all the things required of them. They sought help, accepted counseling, out safe guards in place, and protected their kids.
I have never seen Michelle look so hurt and angry. But even in this situation she kept her poise and control. I don't know that I would have been so controlled in my words.
She is right, they trusted the legal system and the system deliberately failed them. I pray that those who released this are punished because allowing this sort of thing to happen without significant punishment gives the message that it is okay. Itnis NOT. Children are to be protected not violated for whatever political or financial gain these people got.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Our family is praying for y'all we love the show and look forward to 19 kids and counting every Tuseday night I've learned a lot from the show and we are heart broken that it's not showing any more. Praying for the family to get threw this.

  37. While the family seems to be very happy just being together all the time, perhaps more socialization and schooling outside the family would have alleviated Josh's problem. Young children are curious. There is natural curiosity and experimentation with young children. There are age appropriate, normal behaviors in young children. Maybe if Josh, and all of their children, had been properly educated and socialized with other children their own age, they would have been aware of their bodies and gone through normal development. I am wondering if Michelle, their teacher, has done any studies in child development and/or child psychology?

  40. No one will understand grace until they accept it for themselves through Jesus Christ. As David Platt says, "it's counter cultural". Christianity has always gone against the culture. I'm continually praying for your steadfast testimonies as this persecution continues. I send my love for your entire family.

  41. I believe in this family. They took care of the situation at the time. We should be trying to find out why this official released the sealed documents.

  48. This is the only source I will read concerning this because it's the only place that I can believe. I refuse to believe the lies that the devil is having spread. If the Duggars decide to go back to having a private life I hope that this page will still keep us inspired by the Duggars' Christian lives...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Of course they plan to go on with their lives.... is there another option?? Gees a profound statement.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I fully support the entire Duggar family. No one should be eternally punished for a mistake that was made, addressed, and dealt with many years ago. Which is now illegally being thrown into public eyes for what.....to ruin a person, a family, and image. I hope that everything is ok soon.......miss seeing them all daily on TV. Stay strong n keep the faith.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well said!! Good for you. The tabloids just want news that sells whether good or bad. Bad unfortunately gets more attention. I am heartbroken to see the girls interview intro. For sure God has a plan here, it will unfold.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Crimes of any kind by a minor are to be sealed..Why were these released to the public??..I do believe what happened is not OK,but it was a minor doing this to a minor..None of this should have been released..If every person that played doctor as a child was reported to the police, the police and court systems would be even more overcrowed...The child doing this and the victims were both named, when is it ever ok to name the victim??

    ReplyDelete
  53. Megyn showed great sensitivity in her interview with Jim Bob and Michelle. She asked the questions I wanted answered and silenced those who have been slandering the Duggars. The Duggars responded as good parents and got Josh and the victims help as well as reporting it to law enforcement.

I hope the Duggars do bring civil lawsuits against In Touch magazine and the NW Arkansas Democrat Gazette and every tabloid that has slandered them. The punitive damages should be extremely high and rightly so.

The Police Chief and City Attorney are facing criminal charges and, when convicted, should do time in the Arkansas penitentiary. Criminal convictions automatically result in a loss of social security benefits and they may also lose their pensions.

TLC and the program sponsors sided against the Duggars before they knew the facts and will pay for their decisions in loss of viewers and sales.

  54. I'm praying Duggars. I love ALL of you. GOD will see you through this storm. I hope whoever has released the info pays for what they have caused. You did what any parent would do ans that's take care of ALL of your kids.

  55. This whole thing was obviously blown out of proportion. In my opinion, that Springdale police chief or whoever she is has something against the Duggars. I'm assuming she doesn't stand by their beliefs. What goes around comes around.
Something positive will come out of this. I feel like the Duggars are part of my family. I love y'all and am praying for all of you!!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I hope the Duggars do sue the people who released the juvenile records. Forgiveness is a good thing and I think they should forgive the people who released the records, but I also believe they should sue them too!

    ReplyDelete
  57. They should sue the person or office responsible for the leak, especially if they lose the show! I'm thoughts and prayers are with the family!

  61. I seriously have so much respect for this family and their grace and ability to handle this pressure and attacks on their character have more than solidified my respect for them. I'm praying for you all and I know God will continue to use you whether or not you are on television!

    ReplyDelete
  62. God is with them, just know that. They all are my brother's and sister's in Christ and when they hurt, I hurt. But as Michelle said, God will be glorified.
They just are going to have forgive the accusers, which Satan is the accuser of the brethren.
That devil had to find a way to attack and he did.
This world is so evil and has moved so far from Gods word, and persecute the ones who still live by it. Jesus told us that when you live a godly life, you will be persecuted.
People have so many skeletons in their family and I'm afraid that a lot of people are going to see those flying out.
If God has forgiven him and the others have, in God's word, that is all that matters.
You must be careful with messing with God's children.
He was crying out when he went to his parents.
In the bible it tells us that our mother conceived us in sin, and it takes the power of the holy spirit to deliver us from evil, which has happened. That's all

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think being Christians with solid values and beliefs rankles those who choose to live non Christian lives. The Duggers live their lives focusing on Gods word and live their life in service to God. That makes them a target by many who believe its ok to live life doing whatever they want thumbing their nose to what is right or wrong. Our society has a crumbling mentality. I fear for my beautiful Grandbabies and the world they are inheriting. So I will continue to pray for their lives and know that God will bless them and keep them safe from this countries moral erosion.

  67. I agree with Jim Bob the people that released the records should be on the news not Duggar's.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Good for you Duggars! Hope you make it back to television just so there is decent television to be watched! The person (s) who released it should be prosecuted for having released it. And, the situation was handled by the family years ago.

  69. Thank you for your honesty. I was blessed and touched by your interview tonight. I am praying for your family.

  70. It was a good and informative interview. I hope that the people responsible for leaking the information are held accountable! For the fact that the girls are having to deal with all the publicity. I hope that everyone is well and that those that may need counseling seek it out after being attacked by the media. Stay strong...

  71. I am standing behind you. What Josh did was horrible, but I feel you handled it correctly. I'm sorry the records were opened illegally and that your whole family is suffering because of it. My church is praying for you all <3

  72. Children play spin the bottle and do worse than what Josh did .They don't confess to parents or if parents find out it is washed under the table as a child's mistake and told not to do it again .
Josh's parents went the hole nine yards to send the poor kid away and than bring him to police !
My heart goes out to them all .Who ever released the file needs to be held accountable .

    ReplyDelete
  73. So happy to hear from Jim Bob and Michelle. They are wonderful, God loving parents. It breaks my heart they have suffering. People do have their agendas and are using this situation to promote it. Be comforted by the people that want to encourage and love the Duggars through this. 1st Cor. 2:14 But the unbeliever does not welcome what comes from God's Spirit, because it is foolishness to him; he is not able to understand it since it is evaluated spiritually.

    ReplyDelete
  74. I thought the interview was forthcoming and honest, I feel they did everything they could have during that time, and don't know how they could have done more.I feel they did more than a lot of parents would have. Wonderful that Josh felt he could approach his parents with this, I don't think very many kids would have

    ReplyDelete
  75. I support the entire Duggar family whole heartedly. My heart breaks for what you are going through. Those with an agenda, and we all know which groups those are, are behind this. But God will prevail ! God bless you and keep you. I love you all, my brothers and sisters. Stay strong in the Lord.

  76. My heart is with them. I know the devil wants to destroy the family because it is God idea and he wants to destroy anything God created. God will get the glory in the future from this and the devil will so sad he messed with this not perfect but they try to live their lives for Jesus and they teach their children about Jesus.snd they will live for our sweet Jesus and the world will see no weapon formed against them will prosper!! That is what the Bible say and I know the Bible says it just like it is. The are going to be overcomers in Jesus name!!

  77. I cry for you and I pray with you ~

  78. This information should never have been released!! I definitely don't condone what Josh did, but come on, he was a stupid 14 year old, not an excuse at all, but let's go on with life now and stop all of this crap that is being said!! Go after the ones who released the information which was supposed to be closed!! How many other young ones who were involved in the same thing at a similar age, are walking around free of all of the publicity because they were protected by a closed file, and not betrayed by someone who had no right to publicize it!! For all you know, you could live next to someone who did the same type of thing as a juvenile!!! Josh, I'm sure is feeling low as low can be and I feel let us go on with life in the best way possible! End the strife!! Stop the publicizing of all of this!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. Our God is a mighty God, I feel for the whole family and situation. I am very upset that these young ladies have to be victimized again publicly. Josh has owned up, they didn't even know.( still not okay) but those girls .....

    ReplyDelete
  80. I am behind you all the was. You are good Christians and have taught your kids the right path, but we are "all of us" not perfect. Only God is.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I agree with Jim Bob....this transgression is not unforgivable! I also agree that the juvenile records should never have been opened, and whoever did it should answer for their illegal act too. This is a strong family and they will survive, on T.V. or off.....I pray Gods blessings on them all!

    ReplyDelete
  82. The family won't need to film the show any longer after they file a suite against the city, state, county that employed the person who released the records. With all the potential income they have lost because of this they should get a very large settlement. I feel bad for the family.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Why not just leave well enough alone. Everyone has done something they are not proud of, to destroy someone's life is disgraceful no matter the offence, especially if done as a child and many years later to illegally get information and not only destroy him but also his family. This is a very sad situation. I pray all ends well for involved.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Once I got a look at that police chief and heard she wouldn't even shake Josh's hand, I think I know what this is all about for her.

  87. No weapon formed against you shall prosper and every tongue that rises against you will be proven wrong. What the enemy has intended for harm God will turn around and use for his good and glory. You are a mighty family of God. I praise the Lord for Josh's testimony of being a new creature in Christ

  88. Love you guy's. I've been the victim of sexual assault and I've struggled with sexual sin most of my teenage years. I'm a women the same age as Josh. Because of God's mercy and grace He not only forgave me but took away my sin and helped me to forgive. I've become a new person because of Christ just like Josh. I can't imagine what it would be like to be in his place right now but I'm praying for all you guy's. After I became a Christian I didn't really care to much for television but I did like watch 19 kids and counting but whatever happens I hope and pray that good will come out of this and that all of your family will get past this so you can continue serving God because even though all the babies and family are great. The real reason we're here is to serve Him.

  90. I love the Duggar family. They have some of the best values I've ever seen. We have all sinned in our lives, not a single person is without sin. I'm so grateful that there are families like them who understand Gods love and forgiveness and who remind others of it as well.

  94. These are things you have to expect when you are Christians. Satan just can't let you go without sending some awful things your way. Like when you go to school, you never get that good grade until you have a big test. Well kids, God has let you take that test and your are winning. God Bless

  97. We support the entire Duggar family and agree that this information should have never been released. We cannot undo what has been done, but we certainly can refrain from hurting any of the Duggars now or in the future. I believe everyone is a sinner and comes short of the glory of God. We should pray for one another instead of tearing one another down. God will be our ultimate judge. We have no right nor no further need to discuss this matter. The legal authorities have handled this matter and we can do nothing further about what happened over a decade ago. God bless the Duggars and their entire family. I will be praying for them. I hope TLC returns them to the air.

    ReplyDelete
  98. They should be prosecuting the person who released the records! What he (Josh) did as a 14 year old boy should not deem who he turned out to be. He admitted his wrongdoings and did seek councelling

    ReplyDelete
  99. I just watched your interview with Megyn Kelly and was outraged to see that sealed juvenile court records were released. What a scarey thing for parents who are trying to do the right thing to have this happen. I hope that a trusted person, in a position of authority, will investigate this as it is very disturbing. Whether you are a Christian parent or not, children will do things that require correction and there is no perfect parent. It sounds that you did what a concerned parent would do to deal with the behavior. Prayers are with you and your family as you go through this trying time.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I'm so happy you came out and shared your "side" while you shouldn't have to....you told the facts and the facts are so different than the rest of the idiot media has made it. Thank you for being the forgiven family in this country that we can all look to......I will continue to pray for you and all of those who feel the need to lie to get what they want :(

    ReplyDelete
  101. We can all agree that what Josh did was wrong, but if the girls can get past it all and forgive their brother and get on with their lives, who are we to judge. From all accounts, Josh has learned from this mistake, and not reoffended. We have all made mistakes and all will continue to make different mistakes. What I find totally inexcusable is the illegal release of the juvenile records. Leaving Josh out of the equation for the moment, these girls did not deserve this treatment and the person(s) behind the release of these records should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law---and has anyone stopped to consider that while Josh was a child when he did what he did, the person(s) who released these records is a an adult and should know better---what is her/his excuse! As for me, I will do the only thing I can for the situation, I will pray that your family finds peace and closure (finally) for this situation.I think that, as parents, this was handled as best as you could----for those casting stones, how would you handle a similar situation in your family---would you turn in your child for stealing and expect a record to follow him? Just a thought. Continue to grow in God and support each other as a family, take this situation, learn the lesson and move on.

  103. Why are the family being persecuted by the media and the person who released these files is going unpunished. Josh has done everything he could to correct a mistake made years ago. Please let this family find some peace.

  104. The Duggar interview was very good. The Duggars did what they needed to do help and protect their children. The press should stop this witch hunt and leave them alone. God bless the Duggars.

  105. Bless this family; they went thru this tragic time; dealt with it when it had to be and when it was thrown out there by relentless media, they answered to it openly and honestly....that is to be commended. Hope to see you back on tv soon <3

  106. I praise Michelle and Jim Bob for their eloquence and wisdom during this interview. This cannot be an easy thing for these good Christian parents to have to go through AGAIN! To know you have done everything you could for your children and try to teach them right from wrong, To protect them from harm and then have their privacy violated by the media and make your children victims all over again. The worse thing that ever happened to this country is the media. I support the Duggars and their wisdom and grace that they are showing in handling this terrible invasion of their family. TLC needs to consider the good this family has done and let the past of a young teenager be jusst that, the past!

  108. I feel that what Josh has done was wrong, but it is in the past now. It is time to move on and look forward to the future. I love the Duggar's and feel that the show should be put back on. I was one who always made plans around the show. Prayers are being sent.

  109. As usual, the media has damaged someone else. All they think about is a story and money. Shame on the court for releasing a sealed file. Our world is getting more and more scary. I'm praying for the Duggars and want their show back.

This obviously is a family who knows how to walk in love and true forgiveness!Alot of folks could learn from this family everyone needs to button the lip except to pray for them and see the bigger picture,God bless this family and may God restore to them all the enemy is trying to steal from them!

  113. I'm sorry your family is going throug this rough situation. Jim Bob and Michelle, you should not be punish for something that you had no control over. You can try to raise and teach your kids in the best Godly way that you know how, but that doesn't mean your kids will always heed to what you have taught them. The records of what happen should have been sealed and no one should have been able to get a hold of them. I hope and pray that you will be able to find out who got the information. You know this is the devil's doings. He don't want your show "19 Kids and Counting" to stay on TLC because you are a good christian family and we learn alot from watching you. Hang in there. You will be in my prayers and thoughts. God bless all of you.

  121. As someone who was molested by an adult as a child. I don't believe what happened here was the awful act the media has made it out to be. Yes he made poor decisions and what he did was wrong. It's not however rape and does not make him a pedophile. It makes him a confused teenage boy.

    ReplyDelete
  122. My prayers go out to your entire family! Everyone makes mistakes, especially a child going thru so many hormone & body changes, most handle it differently. But I believe in Gods eyes one sin isn't any different than another, all " forgivable"!! I miss seeing your family on TV. I don't know why people are saying y'all are hypocrites because never have I ever thought you perseeved or projected yourselves as "perfect", only "striving" to live the best you can, thru the grace of God. This too shall pass!

  124. It doesn't matter when the authorities released the information. What Josh did was wrong and he shouldn't be on TV. Don't down others for their actions when he's a sick human who needs help. Yes he's forgiven if asked for forgiveness. We all fail as Christians, but don't bash others when you need to help yourself. I was a huge fan! I still love y'all but y'all are not going to be looked at the same.

  126. Sigh.... I love you guys. Kudos to Josh for having the courage to tell his parents. Kudos to Jim Bob and Michelle for seeking help within the home. Kudos to the girls for forgiving Josh. Kudos to the entire family for facing this with grace.
Josh was 14. Boys are curious at that age. It wasn't cool what he did, but, it was completely dealt with.
No one tried to hide anything. It was a "Nunya" topic. Nunya business!!
Michelle and Jim Bob did right by the girls for not throwing this out to the pubic, I wonder if this happened in someone else's family if they would go around telling everyone?
Thank you all for finally letting us hear your side. God Bless you all.
Now I hope the media looks into why the records were leaked and what the motives were.
As a child of molestation I can only imagine the pain the girls are going through now.
Your pure hearts, wonderful souls and dedication to serving others will get you through this time and land you on top. Good always shines. :)

  127. More than anything,I truly believe this was an attack on CHRISTIANS! Of course, whoever leaked this had maybe a more personal agenda, which is wrong on so many levels, but as far as the public response....definitely any true Christ-like Christian has witnessed an overwhelming Christian attack! Yet the TRUE people of God, the brothers and sisters of the Duggars, IN CHRIST, are, of course standing behind the family!!! OUR CHRISTIAN FAMILY OF GOD!!! May this only bring all the Duggars that much deeper in their faith!!! I have definitely had my eyes opened to not only how many ungodly people are out there, but also how many TOTALLY LOST SELF PROCLAIMED CHRISTIANS who HAVEN'T a CLUE!!!! many even quoting scripture, but yet totally not understanding and totally condemning!!! Many lost people out there!!! GOD BLESS THE DUGGARS!!! behind you 100%!!!!

  133. I used to like to read your blog, but you are so naive and one-sided with the molestation scandal that I will never visit it again. Josh sinned, God has forgiven him, but there are still consequences to our actions. Michelle and Jim Bob did not protect their children and are trying to shift the blame to the media and those who leaked it. You continue to post biased posts only in favour of the Duggars. I will pray for you. Move on to something more productive than following around a family that does deserve the attention you are giving them.

  134. Dear lord I pray for this family to have peace and to heal. I hope that this family has many blessings that out weight all the pain that the media has done. I feel so much for all of this family. It has to be hard dragging all of this up now after all these years. I will admit at first I was so hurt over all of this because of my past and I was very angry. But now after more facts and the diggers being so open about this I want to say I am so sorry for judging you and your family I had no right. Thank you both so much for having the heart to tell us what happened . You really shouldn't have had to do that but I thank you. I was abused from the time I was two tell I was 15. So when I here stuff like this I tendto get very angry over it.josh I am sorry your life is being turned upside down . You have grown up a good man and dondon't deserve this.god bless this whole family you are all in my prayers

  135. I was impressed by their candor. They were honest and brave to share this very personal story. I have no doubt they acted in the best interest of their family. Also impressed that Josh sought them out when clearly he could have kept it to himself since the girls wee unaware of his misdeeds. Josh also did the right thing by going to his parents to confess and seek help. What a painful situation for this was whole family.. My heart especially goes out to all of the innocents who have been deeply wounded by this public revelation. Very, very unfair to the girls.I don't understand why all of these juveniles (Josh included) could have been exposed to the public. I hope Josh and Anna are doing OK , what a strain to be under. Releasing a juvenile record to the press should never happen.

With a dad that brings up adult relations every other word and a mom that teaches the girls to lay down and take it. Was what he did wrong most definantly! Just don't think he should be facing it alone.

  144. Love the Duggars and I stand behind them on this issue. You did a great job with your interview and I say thank you for telling your story. I was almost in tears watching your interview, I could feel your pain. All need to know that no one is perfect and we are not to judge that is for God to do which he will do in due time. It sounded like to me that they took the necessary steps to address this issue with Josh. TLC you will be making a big mistake to cancel their show. I bet if the show continues half of the fans that said they won't watch them will be back watching them. Curiosity will overtake them and then maybe their heart will soften and they will be back. I miss seeing the Duggars on TV so I hope they will be back on the air soon.

that are molested by someone they know.
And that the person is between the ages of 12 to 14 and they never do it again. Had Josh touched the boys he would be held a hero.

What a wonderful relationship he had, trust in his parents, and softness of heart he as a small child, to confess each slip up to his parents. I know few parents/child relationships that are that strong, regardless of how hard we work on it. Me. and Mrs. Duggar, I admire you both and all your children. 157. Jim Bob & Michelle,

I just finished watching the first interview with Megyn Kelly. I'm so glad to hear your side, I've tried to avoid the tabloid garbage. I love your show, been watching for years. I've have learned so much from you both and my heart hurts for what you and your family are going through. The media is awful. Plain and simple.

That police chief needs to be fired, not allowed to retire, IMHO, to ensure she loses her benefits, and as a lesson to others who may be tempted to take that path. This seems to be a coordinated, well-planned, premeditated act as well as an abuse of power and frankly illegal, not to mention, unethical. To release the details of the victims? How dare she? Disgusting.

I just want to show that there are people out here who admire and support your family. I'm keeping you ALL in my prayers. Also, I'm a big protestor, but of the conservative, common sense persuasion. :) So, if TLC pulls your show for good, I'll pull the plug on TLC permanently, and I've told them so. Oh, and if they compare you to that awful Honey Boo Boo trash show, there is ZERO comparison. That doesn't fly with anyone that has half a brain.

You're a source of inspiration for many, world-wide. Please don't give up the fight. I'll continue to pray for you all. Stay strong. Much love and prayers,
~S (I'll try for anonymity given what I''m going to discuss

P.S. You were very correct in saying this happens in many households, many times much worse. My childhood was sprinkled with curious brothers, cousins, even a young uncle. I've never told anyone, because those involved apologized, there was no 'force' or rape, just some inappropriate child, young teen stuff. I'm not scarred for life, but I sure would hate for it to all come out. In fact, one episode I'd completely forgotten about until, listening to your interview triggered a vivid memory. I'm ok. I'm better than ok.:) It's ok. I'm in my 40's, raised my children, am blessed with grandbabies. What do I have to be upset about? Not a thing. We were children. I have a full life. My point: I think it's more common than people like to admit and as conservative Christians, you're the 'perfect target'. Plus, someone had to take the heat off of Hillary's emails. I'm sorry it was your beautiful family.

  158. I watched the interview and want to say what he did was bad, but my nephews did much worse especially one did to me! 160. It is sad that the chilren involved are being victimized far worse by the whole world knowing what should have been kept private. The sealed documents shouldn't have been released. Did anyone who was involved in this betrayal of a settled matter consider the children will be hurt .They now have all this forever out in public view an opinion. They are being violated far worse. Even Josh's wife and children will be open to a world of hurt. This is a horrible injustice. I pray God will bless this family and those that were hurt by this private matter being opened to the public. As for those that are being so hateful towards the Dugger Family, I pray for you too. You have hurt so many people,I hope you will see that you have done wrong and someday be forgiven

    ReplyDelete
  161. Three big statements of deflection in your interview; The girls were asleep and didn't know it was happening ( you will never know for sure, its a common way molestation victims 'check-out' during an attack, they pretend to be asleep ), Worse things happen in other families, (Yes, they do but that doesn't lessen Josh's transgressions), and shifting the focus to the chief of police or an 'agenda'. These deflection strategies don't work. Continuing this by having your daughters interviewed is a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  162. we all love the Duggars here. hope they bring them back. the interview was great. some people are so jealous that they would do anything to hurt others and im sure that's what happened. the file should have never been made public. God Bless all the Duggars

    ReplyDelete
  163. Yes Josh Duggar did wrong. It is my understanding that he has received counseling & has ask for forgiveness. If our Almighty God can forgive him, who are we, that call ourselves Christians, not forgive him. There has only been one perfect person that ever walked the face of this earth & that is our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. We all have to ask for forgiveness daily. If we can't forgive then as Christians we are living a hypocritical life. May God bless the Duggars & keep His loving arms wrapped around each & everyone of you!

    ReplyDelete
  164. Isn't incest a sin? And why did they try to cover it up? Josh Duggar molested those girls more than once. Aren't molester supposed to be imprisoned? And shouldn't Jim Bob be held accountable for harboring a molester by not coming forth? There is a lot of "wrongdoings" going on in that family.

    ReplyDelete
  165. I am appalled by the hatred that has been inflicted on this beautiful family. I love the Duggars, and I love the way that they really seek God for answers to their family issues. I have found them a true inspiration to me personally.

I am a survivor of sexual abuse. I am not a victim. I survived. I have forgiven the man involved, and the only reason why I forgave is because I saw how his life changed because he had a sincere Jesus moment. It was like a light shone on his life and all that was disgusting came into the light, and in an instant he became a completely different person.

I remember being so cross with God. It seemed so unfair that in a split instance this man went from jerk of the century (I had used other words at the time) to forgiven by God.
It took a while to deal with this. However, I will say this. I could see the difference. i could literally see the change.

I tell you this because I am now a true believer in God's ability to change the heart of someone who did dispicable things - in an instant.

This is why I feel so much mercy for Josh. I have seen God work in miraculous ways and I think that Josh owning his issue meant that God could work in that situation and change him from the inside out. Thats how God works.

I don't think its fair to judge a 27 year old man in the way that people are judging him. Yes his sin was wrong, no one is denying this, but that was 12 years ago. You can't punish a changed man for something he did as a young teen. yes he should have known better, but he isn't the 14 year old boy - he's the 27 year old family man who loves God and knows what it is to be forgiven by God and his sisters.

  166. I admire the Duggars for their willingness to share their beliefs in God and to hold to their standards in front of many people that rip them apart for it. They're not perfect, but they do love God and I don't know how any one who believes in redemption can continue to spew hateful comments in their direction. Christ died for all of us, including Josh.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I am so sorry your family is going through everything. While what Josh did was "inexcusable," he got help & apologized. As Christians we are by no means perfect, but we are forgiven through God's Grace. As Jesus said, "Let those without sin cast the first stone."
May you find comfort in the Lord.

I don't think Jim Bob meant he would throw Josh under the bus. I think by the third bullet point he just meant exactly what he said. The entire family should not be punished for what Josh did.
The whole incident hurt little children that don't even what is be said. The disgusting person or people that disclosed the issue should be fully punished by the law.

Also what is with Huffington Post Twitters? They are like throwing the Christians to the Lions

  182. I can only imagine their pain as they struggle through this difficult and emotional time. What a shame that a police officer could betray a child and the law in such a way. But their faith in God through all of this says more for their family than any past actions could. I know that I made some very terrible mistakes as a young teenager as well, and now as an adult I see how very different my life could have been had I not seen the proper counseling and found Christ and allowed Him to own my heart. Christ can heal even the most broken of souls, I have no doubt that He has healed Josh's. I think as parents, Jim-Bob and Michelle have done what they thought was best for all involved and Josh has grown into a wonderful, Godly man. And isn't that what parenting is all about? I pray that God will help the Duggars as a family along this difficult road and that they will find peace at the end of it. Let this family's faith and trust in the Lord be a true testament of His glory and grace!

  184. This is just another of the medias attempts to get rid of Conservative Christians. The media only wants Liberal thinkers who do anything and everything. The media thinks that is normal. But to have values and be conservative they don't want that. The Bible says in the end times right will seem wrong and wrong will seem right. That is happening now. To victimize the girls and Josh now after all this time is WRONG!

  185. From reading comments, did everyone see the same interview the rest of us saw? Josh turned around his life, and should be allowed to support his beautiful wife and their children. As for Jim Bob and Michelle, their example as loving, forgiving, just, and teaching parents speaks volumes. Like so many others I have learned so much from them. As for the girls, why not refer to the as the survivors - they are all beautiful and talented, not to mention successful and very mission minded young women. How many people have children who are as amazing as the are? My thoughts and prayers go out to this family - all of them. TLC will be making a big mistake if they cancel the show. We need the Duggars because they give us a wholesome, yet maybe not perfect view of life instead of the alternative!

  186. The real criminals here were those that released the records of the minors. Funny how we are not hearing any outrage about that.

  188. I'm curious how many of the people who are so against the Duggars have young sons of their own? What would you do if you found out they did something/anything terrible that would humiliate your family? How would you handle it? It's hard to know until you are in that specific situation. If it was the situation Josh did, naturally you protect the victims first. No ifs, ands or buts. You also want to help your child who did wrong and get them help so they don't continue down that path and hurt/destroy others. Also I wonder how many of these people who are so against the Duggars are fans of Michael Jackson, Woody Allen movies or Lena Dunham shows just name o few?

  189. Praying for peace. TLC is missing a good teachable moment in which we can all learn. I bet it would be the most watched episode that has ever been watched....sponsors take notice. I believe the Dugars did everything right for their family! This is one program that I watch every week. I have learned so much about kindness, love, forgiveness, fun, good ideas for family to do, decorating, cooking, organizations , etc.

  190. I think EVERYONE has been punished enough especially Josh. His shame has been made public and he will pay over and over for his actions. Leave this family alone and let them get on with healing. Please remember Josh was a child when all this happened, he's now an adult with a family to provide for.

  191. I am praying for all involved. I love this show. This just shows that this family is not perfect and they have to deal with issues just like the rest of the world and I enjoy seeing how they deal with things. I think Josh is an awesome guy that at 14 admitted to a problem and wanted to get help. This is proof that people can change when they put God first. I pray the show doesnt get canceled and people leave this family alone. Prayers sent from South Louisiana.

  192. Praying for peace for the whole family...but also to Jim Bob and Michelle I say, when you put your beautiful children on a reality show they become sitting targets for the legions of haters out there whose main purpose is to drag down upright, Christian people. I am very careful exposing my children or grandchildren on any public media. Just not a good idea...please don't go back on with the show, live a productive private life with your beautiful family!!!

  193. We Christians understand and support you. Josh, without a doubt was blatantly wrong, but Jesus has forgiven him. I am so sorry this all has come out in the public, but God will use it for good. Hugs to your daughters, who have been had their life unexpectedly changed. Prayers for all!
