  2. Although eating with your fingers looks kind of fun, I am with Jana, I would have to use utensils. Janet loves #19kids

  7. Rice is such a basic low cost food. I'm really surprised Jill has never cooked it.

    1. She said she has cooked rice before, she's just used to making it for her large family and hadn't made it for just two.

    2. Nope, Jill has definitely cooked a ton of rice!! In the episode she said that the family normally cooks 15 cups of rice at a time. I think her difficulty was in trying to determine how much rice would be enough for three people with only a little bit left over :) That made me smile!

    3. I'M sure that it was much much easier to cook instant rice for 19 kids, can u imagine how long it would take for the real deal :-) I think the equations were tough for her since she is so used to cooking for such a large family. However I do think that they could have figured it out for the three of them by just reading the directions, and I'm sure editing played a role in it, be it more interesting, lol :-)

    4. She has cooked rice, I don't think she's done instant as much but she was saying it's hard for her because she is still trying to figure out the quantity size for a few people instead of twenty-one.

Jill said she has cooked rice multiple times. She just hasn't made instant rice before.

  15. Is there any truth to the internet articles about Jana moving out and going to some type of school? Whether it be accredited or not? She, herself, really needs to set the record straight about her satisfaction level and what her plans actually are...

  16. So is it true Jana is leaving the show? I thought they were just rumours. .

  17. Jill has cooked with rice before...she said she is use to making bigger portions and she was only having problems because she wasn't sure how much to cook for her and Derick.
This meal looked good and I hope Derick enjoyed it. Jana you are a wonderful sibling!

  18. Anonymous #5 - Jill didn't say she'd never cooked rice. She said she's cooked it a lot, but never for such a small number of people

  23. How can I watch this when all it shows is a blue block? Some one please help me. :)

  24. Jill has cooked rice (along with so many other things) for 20 plus people. She said she isn't used to cooking rice for a small crowd...herself, Derick, and Jana.

  25. The girls wear way way way too much black eye liner.

  26. I have an idea for Ellie, maybe she can buy one of the used wedding dresses from Jill or Jessa and save the difference, or just rent the dress and all the decorations from them, because they'll be needing them again.

  27. Did the whole family get to go there for the meal?

  29. I also know how it feels to be caught in a less than flattering face!! Because, when I was young I was standing in a buffet line for snacks at a dress fitting, (me being a member of my friend's bridal party), and someone snapped a picture with me in it. At the moment they snapped, my face was something like Jana's is caught in the stationary point at the start of this film. When I saw the picture (later in those days), I thought ooohhh is that what I looked like?

  30. Buy a rice cooker. Measure out the portion of rice and water, it tells you in the books, the rice stays warm until you open it on most models. This isn't complicated. And you can make enough for two or three meals if you eat you within three days. It doesn't take long in a cooker. Less than 30 Minutes and you set it and forget it.

  31. Any truth to the rumor about Jana leaving the show in order to go to college? That's such a big decision! If it is true I wish her the best of luck.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Can you please address the rumor that Jana is leaving 19 Kids and Counting and moving out of her parents home? I am sincerely praying that this is a false rumor. I cannot imagine sweet Jana doing anything of the sort. Please address this! Thank you!

  34. Why are we watching the Duggars do everyday things? Why would they be paid millions of
dollars just to video living life? I wish that this blog would put on everyones point of view and
not just praising the Duggar family.

  35. Where could we get the recipe?

  36. Jana is a wonderful woman. She's 25 years old and I think she's more than able to take care of herself. I'm not sure why it should be a big deal if she were to leave home. SHE'S 25 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!! I couldn't imagine living at home with my parents and taking care of then entire household and their needs and not being able to have my own life...my own room even. I hope that she's able to experience the world without chains. Without marriage and children. Atleast for a little while.

  37. To Hannah- I am not sure why you think it would be a bad thing for Jana to move out of her parents' home or leave the show. She is a 25 year old adult and it is entirely normal to want to become independent. I hope the other Duggar adult kids will do the same. Leading such a sheltered existence never allows them to truly test their convictions or experience the joy that comes with learning self-reliance, especially before getting married and starting a family. The Duggars have been on TV for such a long time- I'd think they'd all be pretty sick of it by now.

  38. Great the girls were able to try something new together. I am so happy to hear Jana would like to pursue her education! She is such a lovely and hard working girl, I think anything she focuses on she will master. I do hope her wishes for a College degree are admired and supported by all.

  39. Many countries use soft breads like injera for picking up, eating food. it's actually quite delicious and easy to manage! i would think Nepal would have something similar. good on you, Jill, for making something ethnic! and something from Derick's time in Nepal. :-)

  41. Hi Readers,

The Duggars have not made any announcements about Jana leaving her family. We encourage you to be careful when reading about the Duggars on other sites, as there are very few that provide factual information about the family 100% of the time. If you have a question about whether something is factual, feel free to ask us. :)

    Blessings,
    Lily and Ellie

  42. Thank you for all the work you put into answering our questions. It's hard to wait on the show. :-) we all need to practice self control. In what we say and how we say it. Love the Duggers and I'm glad to have a show like this to watch. God bless you both

  43. Easy solution. Change the channel.

  44. Does Jana have her own room yet? Is she still sharing with the little girls?

    ReplyDelete
  45. To the person who thinks the Duggar girls wear too much black eye makeup -- give them a break! They are very restricted in what they will and won't do in many other areas. They've never even worn bathing suits, and you're picking on eye makeup?
