"Saving Christmas" Giveaway

Kirk Cameron's new film, Saving Christmas, is now in theaters. Kirk spoke about the movie at the private party that the Duggars hosted for family and close friends after Jessa's wedding (video below).

The day after the Duggar-Seewald wedding, we attended the Duggars' church and chatted with Kirk about his film. He gave us a copy of the Saving Christmas soundtrack to raffle off to our readers.

  10. Christmas has deep roots in paganism. Do research and you will find out what this holiday is really all about. Christmas is a day retailers and companies get richer, while folks go into debt trying to get their children/family gifts. Jesus was never in Christmas, so why try to put Christ back in it? He was not born on December, 25. He was most likely born around Sukkot/Tabernacles in September or October. Why not stop celebrating pagan holidays and celebrate His holy days. Which are for all people...Jews and gentiles who have been grafted into the faith. Jesus kept His fathers commandments...ie, Sabbath, and went up to feasts/holy appointed times. There are no bible verses that point to Jesus decorating a Christmas trees, singing Christmas carols, or any of the like. Why don't we see that is scripture? Maybe because its not biblical. If Christ didn't point us to it, then why jump on the band wagon just because someone is promoting a movie to do it? Why continue doing traditions that were passed down to us just because? We can make up our own minds whom we will serve. We can follow the God of the Bible, or after men's traditions that have absolutely nothing to do with His word. It is interesting how people set their children on "Santa Claus" lap (who is a complete stranger), and their child tells them their heats desires. While that is exactly what we should be doing with God. Lifting our petitions/prayers/desires to Him. Santa Claus keeps a list of naughty/nice children. Naughty children don't get presents. God has a book of Life which accounts for those who will be let into heaven. "Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil."
    1 Thessalonians 5:21-22.

  45. Its sad that this movie is not promoting the truth. Christmas is NOT about Christ. Jesus was never in Christmas. He was NOT born on December, 25th. Wake up people, and learn the truth. The truth will set you free. Stop believing a lie.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I stopped celebrating Christmas a few years ago, after I learned that it really wasn't HIS birthday. We threw our pagan Christmas tree in the trash, along with all the decorations that went with it. Watch Truth or Tradition from Passion for Truth on Youtube...and you will see historical proof that this holiday is not biblical. God wants us to worship Him in spirit and truth, so let us do just that, and stop following man made traditions that God is not in.

    1. Of course, nobody can know the exact date of Jesus's birth but it doesn't mean we can't still celebrate him coming into the world. I personally LOVE Christmas and think that even though some people may make Christmas commercial we can still celebrate it with a pure heart.

  47. Jeremiah 10 New King James Version (NKJV)

    Idols and the True God
    10 Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel.

    2 Thus says the Lord:

    “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles;
    Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven,
    For the Gentiles are dismayed at them.
    3 For the customs of the peoples are futile;
    For one cuts a tree from the forest,
    The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
    4 They decorate it with silver and gold;
    They fasten it with nails and hammers
    So that it will not topple.
    5 They are upright, like a palm tree,
    And they cannot speak;
    They must be carried,
    Because they cannot go by themselves.
    Do not be afraid of them,
    For they cannot do evil,
    Nor can they do any good.”

  54. So what that Jesus wasn't born exactly on December 25th? No one knows the actual date of his birth into this world, so the early Church, (that would be the CATHOLIC church, Ben,) the only Christian faith for 1,000 years made a collective decision for the world to unite on one day and observe, celebrate, appreciate this event together. The pope at the time chose December 25th, to offset pagan holidays and put an emphasis on Christianity and the belief in God, etc. How is that bad? That is a good thing,, strength in numbers, as Christians all over the world observe this event together and there is unity and organization. Two things, that are godly.
    As far as a Christmas tree, one can make a tree a religious one, with religious decorations and brightly decorated balls on the tree. I have many religious decorations commemorating the birth of Christ, What's wrong with that folks? I don't worship Santa Claus, but it is a joyful addition for children and a real person,, St Nicholas.
