19 Kids and Still in Love

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar married shortly after Michelle's high school graduation in 1984. Thirty years and 19 kids later, they are still very much in love.

    1. Is amazing how far parents can go for their kids. It seems to me that they did this to make jessa look good on the pic with Ben. I know they are married now but doesnt look good for a christian couple to put it out in the internet. And know michell and Jim Bob?

  2. All of the PDA drives me nuts!!!! Doesn't seem that modest to me to broadcast intimate kisses to everyone on the Internet... 😕. I'd rather hear updates on Josie or the other kids...

  3. With all due respect, copying your married daughters photo is just wierd

  4. These Duggar pictures just go to show how American morals have corroded over the years. I was born in the 50s. All married couples on TV slept in twin beds on the TV I watched growing up. Nobody kissed. Maybe Lucy and Desi pecked, but never with their arms touching each other. I don't recall Andy Griffith kissing, but maybe he did. My my what wholesome people we had to look up to during those years. Now it is anything goes. Put your face right out there sucking face. Lord help us. Aunt Bee would have had a heart attack.

  5. That's how it should be. Praise the Lord for their relationship!

  6. Beautiful. I just watched the family testimony.

  7. Kudo ' s to Jim Bob and Michelle. My husband and I have also been married for 30 years. I love that Jim Bob and Michelle have no problem posting a picture of them sharing a Loving Kiss as well as supporting their Beautiful daughter Jessa and her new husband, Ben! I would rather see this, with true meaning than pictures of many known celebrities that are shallow with their intent.

May our Heavenly Father continue to Bless Jim Bob, Michele, Jessa & Ben, Jill &Derrick, Josh & Anna and the entire Duggar Family for years to come! In Christ, Mary.

  8. Beautiful people in love with each other. Jim Bob and Michelle are such an innocent example of marriage at it's best and the way their kids have turned out is a testament to them. God Bless them with a hundred grandchildren!

  9. I think it's wonderful that they are still so affectionate. Great love stories don't just happen. It takes two people not only committing to each other, but committing to The Lord and keeping him at the heart of their relationship. My parents have been married for 35 years and they are still so sweet towards each other. It has been a wonderful testimony to my husband and I as newlyweds ( of 3 years ;-) ).

  10. I have a real problem with this. If the father owns the female child and gives her off with his approval to a husband, that is okay with me that Jim Bob said to Derrick and Ben that you may now kiss the bride. However, why did Jim Bob do this at the wedding of Anna and Josh? Why did not Mr. Keller have said Josh you may now kiss the bride, instead of Jim Bob saying that? That is contradictory, as it so much with this family.

  11. I love that they did this to show their support of Ben and Jessa! You go Mom and Dad!!!!:)

  12. LOVE the response to all the harsh comments about how you should be making a statement about Jessa's selfie.

  13. I do NOT like this. Or Jessa's picture.

  14. They are just showing that real love lasts love created by our lord. God &heaven bless:)

  15. Coming from a culture that is not into PDA I find all these pics really alward :P

  16. Don't get me wrong, I love Jim Bob and Michelle. But… I do not think that this picture is appropriate. Nor did I think the one Ben and Jessa did. I wouldn't want my kids to see this one and I thought that, since you didn't show Ben and Jessa's one, you were thinking the same. I think that public display of affection should remain discreet. Especially after 30 years of marriage: by then, people should have found more modest ways to show their love for each other .

  17. I don't think their trying to "out do jessa..." I think their trying to prove a point.......the "racy" photo jessa posted isn't a big deal to them.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Lily and Ellie what are you doing???? No-one wants to see a close up of Jim Bob and Michelle kissing no matter how in love they still are (which is great by the way). Yukk!

  20. This is kinda strange, even for the Duggars. All this bad publicity has really upset me lately.I have been a fan since day one, and I'm seeing so many many changes lately. The core of what the show and the family is all about seem to have got a little lost.Im so afraid that people are getting a little put off by it all, that the demise is inevitable sooner rather than later. When that day comes i will feel like i lost my best friends. So i implore TLC and the family to get back to the basic good ole days.because all this social media is killing the show.

  21. We want to see Jessa and Ben! We have seen these two enough! I see what they're trying to do...

  22. U know instead of complaining about seeing the parents kissing...be grateful to God they are steadfast in their love to God and each other...this is getting so rare these days!I am more than ready for them to share more also..but they know this and they will.I am also grateful for their calmness and peaceful attitudes and personalities and the way they have taught their kids.Elizabeth Jones

  23. Maybe it would be better if all concerned stopped reacting to the internet gossip by posting more pictures. We are all being dragged into the gutter by these godless websites. The newlyweds should just enjoy their honeymoon and put away the iphones!

    ReplyDelete
  24. post the newlywed pic it's much more passionate

  25. My husband and I have been married for 33 years and posted a picture of us kissing just last week. Those of us Blessed with a marriage full of love should show affection :) Praise God for loving married couples <3 <3 <3

  26. That pic and the one of Ben & Jessa with Josh & Anna is to show family support considering all the horrible rumours spreading online.

  27. I will no longer watch this program. This is not the behavior I have enjoyed over the years. The courting storylines have shown such unreasonable expectations and has brought out a competitive side of the parents that is not attractive or enjoyable. I am tired of seeing the older Duggar's suck face, it's repetitive and my kids don't need to see it all the time. I will miss watching the younger kids and the birth of Jill and Derick's son, but the actions of the parents always trying to out do their married kids has pushed me to become a non-viewer.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well... isn't it a little tiny deja vu from Jessa and Ben? Perhaps they are going to look just the same in over 30 years:) happy anniversary to the two lovers and may your marriage never lose any of the passion.

    ReplyDelete
  29. ewwwwww don't need to see this! wheres the modesty??????

    ReplyDelete
  30. To me this kiss os one of a long kindled passion and love for each other. It is the life experiences that drive this kiss . Ben and Jessa 's kiss seems a little steamy because the positions they are standing in are similar to JimBobs and Michelle's and yet different. The new spark that B&J have many many many many years to being to have those experiences and not that their kiss will be any less steamy.. it will look more settled in to the depth of a relationship .. which is a beautiful thing ....

  31. Praise God! I am so glad that the Duggars have a strong marriage. So many marriages are falling apart, and it is so rare to find a good marriage. Thanks so much for your encouragement, Jim- Bob & Michelle, you are a blessing! May God continue to bless you!
    Love in Jesus,

  32. What I find admirable ,too, is the fact that they have not been swayed by being reality stars or in the media frequently. I think that has to do with their core values and that they see the show simply as a "missionary" vehicle - not as a vehicle to fame, fortune. They have not crumbled under the pressure of any of it like so many do which I believe is attributed to firm beliefs.
The fact that they worked their lives out in such a way that Jim Bob is home more than he isn't and is active in the raising of his kids is huge. And the income they receive from the show did not change any of that - he was home most of the time long before the show hit the screen. More power to them!

  33. It's time for Michelle to give her daughters a chance to shine ! Jessa and Ben did not need Michelle and Jim B to try and make the same picture . It seems in poor taste to me and others . Congrats to Jessa and Ben !

    1. For everyone's info Jessa was receiving hate mail for the picture she took of her and Ben kissing, so this picture is Michelle's response to it. Way to go mama protect those babies no matter how old they are!

  34. I met my Husband in high school and married him after 3 years and w had our daughter the same year Josh was born. We have had our up and downs over the years but still very much in love 30 years later!

  35. I think this is great! Married couples kissing is ok with God! Proves the strong love for one another. There is always someone in the bunch that is negative, no matter where you go. Can't please everyone. It's refreshing to see married couples in love and affectionate, so many just go through the motions. God WANTS us to find that special someone in life to be happy with. Life's too short! Keep it going! Go Duggars!

  36. In my opinion, this photo AND the photo of Josh and Anna kissing (with the Seewald's, like the sound of that) was done as a show of support for Ben and Jessa, due to all the nasty comments that have been showing up on other internet sites. So bravo to all of them and God bless.

  37. I love the Duggars, but I do not see the point in creating or posting this "copycat" picture like Ben and Jessa. Not needed.

  38. What exactly is Jim Bob and Michelle's ministry again? This year has caused me to forget entirely!

    ReplyDelete
  39. What's with all of the PDA Duggar pictures? I'm a big Duggar fan, but seriously, no one wants or needs to see them kiss. and I agree with the other posters, Jim Bob and Michelle seem to try to steal the spotlight whenever they can lately.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Michelle and Jim Bob. You are awesome. Way to support your daughter!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've thought highly of the Duggars for years but this picture is not in good taste at all and doesn't seem to match the kind of actions they promote. Modesty isn't just dress, it's about keeping your private life between you and your spouse. It's beautiful they have a strong marriage and we can see they have that without this overly intimate look at their personal lives. I can't understand why they thought this would be appropriate to share publicly.

    ReplyDelete
  42. All this mess on the internet that the picture of Jessa and Ben is racy is crazy. I see love and beautiful pictures. God bless this family and give us more family's like this.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Agreed. Ben and Jessa should be left alone on their honeymoon and not have parental input, especially in the intimacy department. Jim Bob and Michelle--GIVE THEM SOME SPACE!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am wondering off all the kids make this promise: not to kiss till the wedding.
Or to be all in public.

  45. Why do these people think we want to see them kiss????? nt t

    ReplyDelete
  46. It seems a lot of women think love and marriage means you should have attention and be in the spotlight. Although that is common thought, it is strange if you think about it. Its a relationship between two people and theirs represent deep love and purity. When you know what the Duggar family stands for, you know they are not motivated to kiss eachother for attention or because they want some kind of spotlight. They ARE in the spotlight, they are like a city on a hill and their lives shine and reflect a beauty the world is not familiar with, because they reflect the Holy God they serve. Im thankful for their faithfulness, to God and to eachother in marriage.

  47. Awwe, come on previous commenters to this blog post...where your honor for these loving, good, Godly, parents? This is a very sweet and loving imitation of the newlyweds; which can give Jessa and Ben long lasting hope for maintaining and enduring love throughout their marriage - if they stay on track as Michelle and Jim Bob have done! Thanks parents for showing your love!!!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lets be clear on the facts, they are celebrating 30 years of marriage!!! Thats awesome! They didnt post the pic either, Jessa did, because she found it encouraging that you can still have love like when you were on your honeymoon 30 or more years into your marriage!:-)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think they're simply showing their approval of Jessa and Ben's (similar) kiss photo, for anyone who may be saying things against it. Married people kiss! Nothing inappropriate there :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. This seemed really immature. It's awesome that they still have a strong marriage after 30 years but copying Jessa's photo was ridiculous. Let this be her moment.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Michelle and Jim Bob have allowed all to see a great example of a loving, giving and sharing marriage. I am somewhat disappointed that they have copied Jessa & Ben's beautiful photograph. There comes a time in your life when you cant behave as the young do and that time is here for Jim Bob and Michelle.

  53. Question, What do the use to teach reading? once I saw them using some kind of flash cards just want to start teaching my child how to read soon thanks

  55. I agree with # 1 comment this is slightly disturbing

  56. I think this picture (like the original Ben and Jessa pic) is in poor taste. It is a snarky response to those critical of the original picture, and I don't see anything charitable in being snarky. Ben and Jessa should NOT have posted the original pic.

  60. I love both pictures! Totally in love in the beginning and thirty years later! God bless both couples!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I do not believe they did this in poor taste or to "out-do" their newlywed daughter. I see this as being an incredibly sweet show of support for their daughter and son-in-law in the middle of some backlash towards a picture of a married couple kissing. How on earth is it OK to see Kim Kardashian's half clothed figure all over the internet, but not a picture of a loving couple kissing and in love after 34 years!?! Bravo Mr and Mrs Duggar and to the newlyweds!!

  62. For those of us who have been married awhile... I think this is a great picture. People need to see that Michelle and Jim Bob are going strong too.

  63. I absolutely love the picture that Michelle and Jim Bob posted. They are wonderful parents and Im sure that Jessa and Ben were encouraged by their creative support due to the outrageous comments people were making about Ben and Jessa's picture of their kiss. Jim Bob and Michelle also encouraged people to post their pictures of kissing their spouse to celebrate marriage. I am so thankful for the Duggars' Godly example of marriage, raising children, managing money, a home and all the other things they do to encourage others.

I hope they will read our supportive comments.

  64. I loved the support that Jim Bob and Michelle showed Jessa and Ben with this photo. They encouraged other people to post pictures of themselves kissing their spouses to celebrate love and marriage on their facebook page. They are are great parents. Jessa loved the picture and posted it on her instagram. I love the Duggars and am thankful for their show!

  67. The picture of Jessa kissing her husband, Ben, is absolutely beautiful. I was so touched that they shared it with us! Michelle and Jim-Bob's picture of their kiss brought tears to my eyes. How blessed your children are to have such wonderful parents that define what God intended marriage to be. Thank you so much for allowing us into your God-filled lives! You are such a blessing to my family.

  68. the duggars opened themsleves to this being on tv and selling themselves out to people magazine. This is when satan attacks Christian. I hope Jim bod and Michelle think and pray long and hard about this. time to get out of the lime light. The wold is a very nasty place. God bless them. praying for them

  69. Wow, I didn't realize Michelle's nose was so big!

  70. Leave them alone how many people can say that they've been married for 30 years and are still that much in love. I think it's awesome they can show their children that they are still in love. My parents would have been married for 50 years if my mother were still alive. Way to go Jim Bob and Michelle.

    ReplyDelete
  71. WOW so many who commented here need to chill out!!! Their is nothing wrong with showing a married couple kissing and in love. We saw it with Josh and Anna and Jill and Derick and now with Jessa and Ben. So why the shock? As for Michelle and Jim Bob kissing so be it and they are showing their love. As far as people saying it is not being modest seriously....!!?? They are not showing naked pics of the couples kissing or showing any open mouth kissing. They are just kissing so get over it and stop judging.

  73. Would Jessa and Ben send this picture on a Christmas card? If not, then it is not
appropriate for anyone but themselves to see. Just because you are married, it does
not mean you can be as sexy as you want, that is if you are Christian. Non Christians find
this picture beautiful, who wouldn't in this oversexed world. I am so sad at how J and M
responded to this picture. They have lost all credibility with my Bible loving homeschooling
    family.

    ReplyDelete
  74. If this were my mom and dad, I would be so embarrassed. I understand they were trying to show support for Jessa and Ben, but this is not appropriate:(
