DC Duggars in Gettysburg

Josh and Anna Duggar and their three kids stopped at Gettysburg during their RV road trip, which was featured on this week's new episode of 19 Kids and Counting. They dressed up in period clothing and took a family picture at the nearby Victorian Photography Studio. (Click here to view more photos of their trip.)

Thank you so much for sharing your family fun adventure and staying positive even
when there were bumps on the journey. ....

  3. It really would have been more appropriate for Josh to wear a period costume and not one of a union officer. Particularly since a lot of viewers of the show are southerners. I am guessing this was a Tlc decision and not the family. Just disappointed in this

    1. I agree he should not have worn an officer's uniform as none of the Duggars join the military they claim to support. However, wearing a union costume should not be a problem as they live in the union.

  7. If it were in color it might be nostalgic like the wedding of Jill and Derick.

  8. Excuse my ignorance, but I have to ask, 'what side they are representing?'.

  9. I love that reproduction picture... very realistic! I would love to be able to go to Gettysburg, so glad they had the opportunity to go and the kids were able to experience (well McKenzie and Michael, Marcus is still a wee bit to young!)

  10. What a beautiful portrait! I love seeing more of the DC Duggars. Josh & Anna and their children are such a beautiful & wholesome family; they are truly great role models. I wish them and the rest of their family all of God's blessings. Your sister in Christ, Kristin.
P.S. ~ Congratulations on the birth of their new niece and cousin, Davia Lynn Waller! May the blessings of the Lord be with all!

  12. Yikes! It looks like a crossover between "19 Kids & Counting" and "Little House on the Prairie". I still enjoy the photo anyway.

  14. Love the picture. Although in the original picture, Marcus' face was a bit blurry. But thanks to digital photography fix-in's, I think it was able to be fixed. Hey, I would like to see some news other than from TV and about pictures etc. Such as news about Jill and Derick and their pregnancy (I have lost track of how many weeks she is and wonder what she looks like). And news about the newest Duggar couple, Jessa and Ben and how their enjoying married life and where they went for their honeymoon. Please share news about these two Duggar couples.

  16. Maybe he wanted to be on the side that wanted men to be free and not property? He also went to Gettysburg. A union territory. And a union victory. If he was in a confederate state taking the picture then I could see that uniform being picked. He could have not gone with a uniform at all I suppose.

  18. OMG,OMG,OMG, are people seriously still bitter about the North winning the war? Havent we moved on from that? I'm from the South,we dont all feel that way, and I'm sure there are just as many viewer's and fans of the show who live in the North. Gettysburg had both uniforms, so why does he have to wear the South? Im sure it was just a fun picture to do with the family without all the politics.Even Josh probably needs a reprieve from it all since he's works and lives in D.C....lighten up a bit y'all:-)

  19. It seems like it is about time for Anna to be pregnant again. Yes, I think they will be announcing Grand Duggar number 4 is on they way for them. With Jill being pregnant that will mean Grand Duggar #5 for the Grandparents. Just waiting to hear about Jessa if she is pregnant yet. Love the Duggar Family!

  20. @Anonymous They were not in Arkansas. I'm sure no offence was ever intended. Wow.

  21. Anonymous #3--tell us you're not still fighting the civil war! We are 'one nation, under God', In addition, what kind of reaction would poor Josh get in Washington being photographed in a confederate uniform?

  22. Maybe Jim Bob and Michelle should recreate this photograph too so they can stand up for Josh's right to wear a Union officer's uniform.

  25. And I would like to hear about the Duggar children other than the three married couples! Why are we not being given a glimpse into the lives of the other 16 children?

  28. anon #3 & 19: it is a period costume and considering on how well dressed anna & mackynzie are, then the officer's costume is more appropriate (regardless of what 'side' they represent). trust me, in the pics i have of my ancestors from this time period, they are dressed no where as 'upscale' as anna & mackynzie are! i'm sure no disrespect was intended towards any 'side', since they live in the 'north' and are both from the 'south', and the intent was only a fun family picture!! like when they went to asia and dressed up. they weren't samurai swordsman or geisha girls either, but it was fun for them to do it!

  29. I have a question but does the duggar family believe segregation is acceptable or if interracial marriage is okay or is it as sinful as same sex marriage??
