Josie Duggar Update

Now 28 months old, Josie Duggar--born at 25 weeks gestation, weighing only one pound, six ounces--is doing phenomenally well. At a recent checkup, Arkansas Children's Hospital gave her a clean bill of health. Jim Bob and Michelle will continue to take Josie to a pediatrician in Northwest Arkansas to monitor her development.

  12. That is such wonderful news. Little Josie had a ruff start, but what a blessing to have a family as she has! Michelle has done such a good job of taking care of her.

  13. Josie is so cute! It's truly amazing what God can do, seeing how Josie was so early and her chances of survival were so small.
Does anybody know when the next season airs?

  17. I'm glad she's doing so well. Her siblings have done a good job in helping to take care of her also. But it makes me a little bit sad, wondering what Jubilee would have looked like and what blessings she would have brought to the family. It would have been fun seeing Josie with a little sister. :(

  18. Jim Bob and Michelle are not her parents. Her elder sisters are.

  20. I was wondering, also, how she is mentally for her age. Does she have problems?

  21. I also am wondering how she is going developmentally?

  24. that was rude and no Josie does not look like she would not be up to par mentally. They gave her a clean bill of health which means that she has met her developmental milestones. I am an Advanced Pediatric Nurse Specialist and this child looks like a precious miracle to me. She's also very cute and looks a lot like Jackson

  26. I got to see Josie and the whole clan last night at the Titanic Museum. It was nice to meet them. Very kind and oh so sweet. It was an unexpected surprise to look up and see all these familiar kids running around. My kids were ecstatic. What a nice surprise. No pictures because no cameras were aloud in museum. No phones either.

  27. Josie is such a cutie!
Anon April 11 2012 7:41pm. Oh so was it Josie's sisters that spent countless hours pumping milk for her? Staying by her cribside and learning all they can to know how to best care for her? Were they the ones that had the authority to make any medical decisions on her behalf? Did they give birth to her? Michelle did a lot of the work taking care of Josie and did so for a long time after she finally came home, And she was reluctant to let any of the older girls help. So your statement is rubbish. The girls spent most of their time keeping things running back at the little rock house with the help of Jimbob and Grandma Duggar. And even then Jimbob had the final authority on the raising of the children. Even a chef needs people trained up to help him or her run a well ordered kitchen. But that does not make them the head chef with all the authority. It's a rather pathetic comparison but hopefully it explains my point. A home or a place of work is a poor functioning one if only one or two people are doing the work. And as far as I am concerned i don't think Josie has any problems developmentally. But that does not mean she has totally escaped complications later in life. Thankfully she has loving parents that will help her out IF that was to happen. But why worry about it now? Enjoy her as she is at the moment.

Mmosley: Right on! Josie is such a lucky girl. Her value is because she is a child of God. The Duggars are parents - wonderful parents. My parents only had 2 children and they were unhappy being parents. Our childhood was very sad. These people accept each child as joy multiplied. God bless Josie and the entire gang!
