Meet Evy Jo

Jinger Vuolo, Jeremy Vuolo, Evangeline Jo Vuolo

Evangeline Vuolo has officially made her public debut! TLC posted a video that shows proud parents Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo introducing their second daughter to the world. The fourth syllable of her name is pronounced "line," and her middle name, Jo, is after Jeremy's middle name, Joseph. The Vuolos will call her Evy Jo. The link to the video is below.

  2. Oof, I’m really not a fan of that pronunciation, also the fact that they’re planning on calling her Evy like her cousin. There are hundreds and hundreds of names in the world, I’d be annoyed if I were Joy.

    1. Evy and Evie Jo....they are different🙄

    2. Yeah, because when you’re yelling both names, I’m sure both kids won’t be super confused 🙄

  3. If I were Joy, I think I would be frustrated that Jinger chose the same nickname for her daughter born 3 months later.

  4. Congratulations to them. They are a lovely family. I do wonder at the name so similar to Joy’s baby.

  5. That is not how I thought her name and nickname would be pronounced. I like it that they are including her middle name, especially since she has a cousin Evelyn and a cousin Ivy too!

  6. Jinger and Jessa are close. I imagine that when Jeremy and Jinger discussed names during Jinger's pregnancy, they thought how cute it would be for the little cousins to be named "Evie Jo" and "Ivy Jane". BUT they didn't plan on Joy Anna picking "Evy Mae" for her baby's name! OOPS! I am sure they all are ok with it, and probably think it's funny now.

  7. I love the name Evangeline. I think having the same nickname as Joy's baby may cause some confusion if they don't use the middle names.

  8. The last syllable is typically pronounced Leen. They can obviously call their daughter whatever they want but people are always going to think her parents made a mistake. lol

    1. Not necessarily. I've only heard it pronounced "line."

      Delete
    2. I have heard both -leen and -line. I think it is however the parents decide. It is a pretty name. There was a famous -line, that is Caroline Kennedy, who I always referred to as -line when I was growing up. Again, whatever the parents want.

    3. I have never heard the ending pronounced like “lean”.

    4. Agree. Never heard it pronounced “line”, only “leen”.

  9. I'm happy to see Evie Jo home healthy. I'm glad she is doing fine & also 😄 happy Felicity is enjoying her little sister. I know they'll be doing everything together as time goes by. I am really glad Jinger & Jeremy are getting use to adapting to there new home and now as a family of 4. My parents & I are excited to watch all of them on counting on this coming year. Natasha b

  11. So,there are two eh-vee's now? Seems like it will be confusing even with Jo added to one, and living far away from each other. Not really a fan of the name. Jinger's daughter will probably get called ee-vee more, because of the spelling.

  12. I feel like this is such a copycat name. Joy chose the nickname evie/evy for her daughter already. And Alyssa Webster had just announced she was using the middle name jo. Just seems strange to me

    1. Jo is after the baby's dad, so certainly have reason to use it.

      Delete
    2. It was similar when Joy's stillborn daughter was names Annabelle (in June 2019), and then Josiah and Lauren named their daughter born in November Bella. But that's how names are. There are a lot of names with "bell" in them and they are really pretty.
As for "Jo", Alyssa's mom Kelly has a middle name Jo. Jinger's baby was given her middle name Jo to honor her father's middle name Joseph (Felicity's middle name is Jinger's middle name). They could of cause do Josephine, but that would be really long, Evangeline Josephine... They needed a short name after long first one. They fit very well.

Though if the cousins meet, it would be crazy - Evy Mae, Evie Jo, Ivy Jane... Addie, Bella, Maryella and Gracie will be in such advantage :).

  13. It's so sad when someone gives their child a beautiful name and then doesn't know how to pronounce it.

    1. It's so sad when someone names their child and other people criticize it.

      Delete
    2. I have only ever heard it pronounced the way that they do.

  14. Evy Mae and now Evie Jo. I guess there isn’t anymore cool names going on besides “Evy” that they both want it! What are they gonna do when they’re all together? The poor Evys. I’m not sure I would’ve liked sharing my name with a first cousin growing up.

    1. I don't think I would either. Yet Evangeline and Evelyn are different enough, but they won't be used too much. It would be the nicknames. Easy enough to have a different nickname, say Angel or Angie Jo, if they want to include her middle name.

      Delete
    2. Erin Bates has a daughter Everly. Some people like names starting with a vowel. But wait, Josiam and Lauren will have to name the next baby with a name starting with "C", so if they get to "E" it will be a few years ahead.

      Delete
    3. With the possibility of hundreds of first cousins, it is highly likely that there could be some repetition. It is also highly likely that their names wont be used at family gatherings anyway because it'll be hard to keep track lol

  15. Evie Jo is a cute name.

    1. agreed, would have been better to just use that

  17. If you name her Evie jo give her that name. Why give her a name u are not going to use?

    1. Imagine if she grows up and becomes like a senator. Senator Evie Jo Vuolo? No, nicknames are nicknames, they are for kids and for family use.

      Delete
    2. @ 1:41

Considering her family background, I highly doubt she'll be a senator. Unfortunately, she'll probably be married with a baby by the time she's 23!

      Delete
    3. @5:27: Her father was a professional soccer player and went to college. I'm sure Evie as well as Felicity will get good education and will be independent women.

    4. At 23 I was married with 2 babies. I was blessed.

    1. Usaly she wears lots of make up. This is here look how tired I am look.

      Delete
    2. She does look tired and having the labor and birth of your baby filmed along with having to have pictures taken and having lots of people in your home is enough to wear someone out. Good grief they ought to give the girl a break and let her have time to spend with her new daughter. Why does Jeremy allow this invasion of their lives to happen and why is her Mom ok with this?

      Delete
    3. She recently gave birth, that’s what she should look like. If she was all made up then people would criticize that.

      Delete
    4. 6:56 -- they live on this money, the money that networks pay to them for birth shootings, episodes and so on. It's their income. So of course they will be doing all that.

      Delete
    5. It seems so wrong to sell your child's privacy as your family's source of income. Before Hollywood had laws, this is what some parents did with their children and it had terrible results.

  19. Pray tell what is going on with Jinger's hair????? It's about 5 diffetent colors. Is this some new L.A. trend?

    1. She just had a baby

    2. This is why I've never dyed my hair and never will. It only ends up looking crazy. What God gave you should be good enough.

      Delete
    3. I think she was going for a balayage but fell short

    4. @6:03; lol hadn't even noticed that. You're right it is!

    5. 11:53- A talented hair stylist will be able to turn out color to suit the individual so that it looks natural. You notice the bad jobs because they're so obvious. There are many you don't notice because it's been done well. My sister always colored her hair and it suited her. When she let it go gray, it washed her out and made her look very tired, as it contrasted drastically with her complexion. It certainly wasn't the color God gave her at birth! People should do whatever makes them feel comfortable. BTW, it may have been the lighting in the photo that was not flattering to Jinger's hair.

      Delete
    6. I can always tell when hair is colored or highlighted. Just let the sun shine on it and you'll see the dullness and artificial color. Even a "good" stylist can't stop that because it's caused by the dye itself. Real hair color comes from within the hair and doesn't fade or wash out. Dye looks too much like it's on the surface. Then there's the root upkeep which is a constant battle for some.

  21. Evie Jo, Evy Mae... Two cousins 3 months apart.

  22. Jinger looks amazing after giving birth! Jeremy is a wonderful doting father whom I am certain shepherds his little family tenderly and Jinger's hair is beautiful as always! Praise be to God for a family who shares their lives with the world to make Christ known!

    1. How is posing in expensive clothes and shoes, holding expensive props like fountain pens, making Christ known?

  23. She is nicknamed Evie Jo. Joy-Anna's daughter is Evy Mae. Jessa's is Ivy Jane. This is going to get very, very confusing, trying to remember which is spelled Evie and which is spelled Evy. Very confusing. They could have nicknamed her Angel or something that was not so confusing.

    1. AFter I wrote the post, I thought maybe it was intentional to nickname the baby after Joy-Anna's daughter Evy, and honor her with her blessing, since both were rainbow babies. They don't mention that, however. Still another nickname that is different could have been Angie Jo.

      Delete
    2. They are just cousins. Duggars will have over 100 grandkids for sure, so there will be very similar names for them. And so far nobody named their kid absolutely the same name, while it can happen. I personally don't like name Ivy, and I don't know why Jessa dn Ben picked that name. But both Evelyn and Evangeline are very great names, in my opinion, so why prevent parents from using a name they love? Even if it sounds like a name of baby's cousin?

      Delete
    3. Duggars might have more than 100 grandkinds. Now they have 20 (20th coming in February) and this is when only 8 of their kids are married. I think by the time the oldest grandchild Mackynzie will turn 15 (which is 4 years), there will be 20 more grandkids already. Justin is getting married now, I'm sure Jed, Jer, Jason and James will marry soon, they will all have kids right away. And the ones who ara married already will continue having kids too. By the rate Kendra is going, she might be a mother of 6 kids by Kynzie's 15th birthday.
I don't now about Jackson, he seems a little immature, but Johannah now is 15 and who knows, she might get married at 18 and have a kid too.

  24. If I were Joy, I think I would be sad that my sister chose the same nickname for her daughter born 3 months after mine.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Joy does not have a licence on the name of her daughter. The names itself are very different. And the girls are only cousins and are living in different states. They will be meeting maybe once a year. So they can be called then Evy Mae and Evie Jo when they meet, for distinction.

      Delete
    2. As I mentioned in an earlier post, they did not mention Evy Mae in the clip, but it could be that it was intentional, to honor Evy Mae and Joy-Anna and came with Joy-Anna's blessing. They also may have come upon the nickname before Evy Mae was born and decided to stick with it.

    3. There are literally hundreds of names in the world, why choose to nickname your kid the same thing as one of your siblings? I don’t even think having an Evelyn and Evangeline is a probable since they’re not the same name, but why do they need to call her Evy as well? They could have gone with Evie (pronounced EV), Eve, Eva, etc, but they chose the same thing??

      Delete
    4. 6:34 AM I think I would be sad, too. I think Evie and Evy will be sad, too, when they realize it in a few years.

  25. Oh that's how you say it, cute!

    ReplyDelete
  26. I find it interesting that Joy Anna’s daughter is Evelyn, nick name Evy, pronounced E-vy, and Jinger’s daughter Evangeline, nick name Evie, pronounced ev-y. It’s like they switched the long/short e sounds at the beginning of each name to make the other kids nick name. I’m sure I made that entirely too confusing, so I hope that made sense lol. And this is NOT a criticism, just an observation:)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Gee, some audacity they have! Cute name but if I were Joy I would be quite annoyed. Evie is pronounced ee-vee not eh-vee, but it’s their kid. And the ‘line’ part is going to throw a lot of people off. I prefer Evangeleen over line. She’s cute though!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Evangeline is pretty, but they chose the same nickname as Joy and Austin. I agree, if I were Joy, I would be annoyed. The other person I would think that would be annoyed would be Austin. I think he was joking, but I remember when Joy was pregnant with Gideon, he said he hoped that nobody would steal the name.

      Delete
    2. Also, they did not even mention the cousin in the introduction as having the same name.

      Delete
  28. Lissy and Evie - I like the combination.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Evie Jo, following Ivy Jane and Evy Mae? I just hope that Kendra won't name her daughter Ava or Everly...

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Funny. the baby will be born in February, so maybe they will name her Valentina.

      Delete
    2. 7:45 If it is Ava, will they nickname it Avy? Ivy, Evy, Evie and Avy? I hope not, but they decide.

      Delete
  30. Interesting! I see how Joy Anna's daughter, Evelyn is Evy but why can't Evangeline's nickname be Eva?

    ReplyDelete
  31. And if they named the baby Isabella, everyone would be saying it's a copycat from Bella, Josiah and Lauren's daughter? Like, there rae tons of names, parents have to like the name they pick for their own baby, so what if they like similar names?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In this case, it is not just similar, the nickname is IDENTICAL except for spelling (Evie vs Evy). The names are very pretty Evelyn vs Evangeline. The nickname Evy(Evie) is cute. Difficulty is that it is the SAME for both, which will lead to confusion. Jinger and Jeremy didn't mention that in their introduction. I wonder how the Forsyths feel about it.

      Delete
    2. Maybe I’m wrong but I think the nicknames are pronounced differently.

      Delete
  32. I don't like the names Evelyn, Evangeline, Evy, or Evie Jo, but to each their own...we all like different things. It's a good thing, otherwise, this world world would be boring if we all like the same things

    ReplyDelete
  33. I find it suite tactless to nickname their kid like her cousin Evelyn Forsyth... They live alone in their little bubble in Sunny California...
