Duggar #19 Turns 11

Happy 11th birthday to Josie Duggar! During the months she spent in the hospital after being born premature at 1 lb 6 oz, there were moments when Jim Bob and Michelle wondered if their little girl would make it. But look at her 11 years later! God sure has shown his faithfulness through Josie's life.

    1. Josie seems fine! I heard her make a logical argument for money from the tooth fairy. She was sharp.

    2. Erika, that's amazing that you were so tiny when you were born, yet you made it! That's wonderful.

    6. Josie could eventually get a learning disability when she get older it usually doesn't happen right away.

    7. If she had a Disability it would have shown by now. That’s what happened to me. I was diagnosed when I was 11, but I had signs that had been showing for years prior to being diagnosed. It started with bowed pinky fingers, then went on to a cleft palate, hearing loss, and an intellectual disability. I am now 20 years old.

  9. Happy 11th Birthday Josie! Hard to believe it's been 11 years since you arrived 4 months early from your original March 2010 due date. Your so sweet and have the most beautiful blond natural curls. I will never forget the day after your arrival on Sunday December 11,when my parents showed me and my two younger sisters(then ages 10,8,and 5,now ages 21,19,and 16) the article in our local newspaper The Denver Post that announced your arrival. It was very sad and two months later when the new season of "19 Kids and Counting" premiered on TLC,me and my mom cried to see a tiny fragile you in the NICU. It also was mine and my two younger sisters first time ever seeing a preemie in our lives. I too was a NICU baby for about one month(I got sick with pneumonia 1 month after I was born and was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis after that)You share a birthday with a friend of mine(she's 22 years old today). Have a great birthday and a Happy Holiday season. Haley P. from Colorado

    1. She's also a testament to the skill of a whole lot of doctors and nurses. She wouldn't be here without them and their knowledge and training.

    2. But doctors and nurses also take care of babies who don't make it. Does that make them less skilled or knowledgeable? There were many people praying for Josie, and God answered those prayers.

    3. Many prayed for Jubilee. But those prayers were not answered.

    4. 11:20 I don't believe God is picking winners and losers by answering some prayers and not others. It simply makes no sense at all if he operates that way.

    5. God answers prayer, the answer is just not always what we want to hear, but we're also not omniscient like He is. Our version of what's best isn't always truly best, because we don't see the whole picture.

  18. Happy birthday Josie!
I think Josie's birth changed a lot for Duggar family. They had to move to Little Rock, it brought them all more together, Jill also got to see how nurses work and decided to become a midwife herself. I think they all became more aware of how much they have, family, kids.
