Michelle and the Vuolo Grands

Although they live hours away from the Duggars and Vuolos, Jinger and Jeremy Vuolo were still able to have a few family members visit Los Angeles and help them welcome their second daughter. Two of those visitors were Michelle and Jordyn, who came to lend a hand. Evangeline Vuolo is Jim Bob and Michelle's 19th grandchild. She was born on November 22 at 11:26pm, weighing 7 lbs and measuring 20 inches long.

  1. I thought LA was on a lockdown and people from outside a household were not supposed to gather.

    1. Who’s watching Felicity while Jinger gives birth then?

      Delete
    2. Yes. But the Duggars don't seem to think that rule applies to THEM.

      Delete
    3. It is, and they're not supposed to, not even outside.

    4. Lockdown goes into effect tomorrow at 11:59pm. You are not to be socializing outside of your household unless you have quarantined for 14 days after arriving in Los Angeles or pretty much any where in California.

    5. LA County started stricter rules in November, not December. They identified the problem in mid-November and took action then.

    6. Nobody should need local authorities or a deadline to tell them to do what common sense should tell them to do.

      Delete
    7. Yeah, LA is where actors are allowed to eat outside together but regular people aren't? Where's the common sense in that?

  2. With the corona virus running rampant all over the US, you bring family members in from other states to "welcome" your baby? These people are NUTS.

    1. I'll say! I highly doubt the Duggars did the two-week quarantine before going to the Vuolo's house.

    2. I know, like Michelle and Jim bob handicapped their kids soo much that they need their mom with them even during a pandemic while giving birth. I don’t understand why jinger can’t just adjust with her in laws.

    3. Why nasty name calling.
It's their business of they want family from out of state to visit them and their new baby.

    4. I don't know what it's going to take to get this family to wake up and stop gathering. Another person I know just lost her husband to the virus. I've now lost track of how many people I know who have been positive, been hospitalized, or have died. Too many. It's too depressing to count. Does it take actual sickness or death to get some people to stay home??! Because it's happening, and any one of us could be next if we're not careful.

NOTHING is more important than your life. No party, no holiday, no new baby, NOTHING. You will never enjoy those things again if you die. You'll forever ruin them for the rest of your family if you die. You'll always be the empty chair, the one missing. Is that what you want to be? The one who insisted on gathering at the wrong time and paid the price with permanent absence? If you stay home now, you'll have those happy things in the future with your loved ones. If you don't...

I don't know how to say this more plainly. Christmas is coming and too many people aren't going to see it or the new year, when there's hope of a vaccine that will knock down this nightmare. Will you be responsible, or will you be selfish and foolish?

      Delete
    5. They came to take care of Felicity while Jinger gave birth! Would t be better for a two year old to be left alone?

      Delete
    6. Oh my goodness! You’re right! People coming to take care of their grandchild while the mother is healing is unheard of!!!!!!!!! We should Stone them!!!! Bahaha
You guys are ridiculous! Maybe they are about their daughters mental and physical health after baby and want to help her out. They get to choose that..... remember

      Delete
    7. No, you don't get to choose that in a pandemic. Jeremy's parents were already there ahead of time, which was risky enough. They didn't need yet another household coming into this household. @7:14 and 5:50.

      Delete
    8. 7:14 These are not normal times and we all need to make sacrifices to keep ourselves and OTHERS safe. That means no visiting.

      Delete
    9. Actually, you do get to choose that. The government doesn't totally own our bodies, minds, and wills yet.

      Delete
    10. I say let tha Dad be a Dad and care for his own kid while Mom is having the other. There is no need for a whole group of people for birth. It is a want not a need. People can't tell the difference anymore.

      Delete
    11. So if one set can be there in case baby comes but can’t stay so another comes to take over that is so horrible! Goodness it makes complete sense even in a pandemic.

      Delete
    12. I fail to understand why Jer and Jing would put themselves and their children as risk by inviting all these people into their home! They wanted chikdren so they should take care of them themselves. 2 adults, 2 children. It's one on one care. Why would they need help? If they can't care for kids they shouldn't be having them, in my humble opinion.

      Delete
    13. Yes, you DO get to choose that even during a pandemic. The government does not control what we can or can’t do as much as they would like to.

      Delete
    14. @5:51 That's exactly how it works. More (different) people = more spread. Why come at all if you can't stay?

      Delete
    15. 8:10, Jeremy can't both be at home taking care of Felicity and be at the hospital with Jinger. Someone had to be with Felicity besides her parents.

      Delete
    16. I understand 1 or 2 people coming to help with Felicity but 2 families coming off two separate flights is excessive. Michelle was just at Justin’s engagement with in Texas. That is simply to much exposure.

      Delete
    17. Government control - ha. If people can't control themselves and behave properly, who else is going to step up and try to protect the rest of us? It's sad to think that some of you wouldn't stay home unless told to by the government, and even then, you'd balk. I'm glad the government is (trying) to tell people what to do.

      Delete
    18. 2:05, if the governors' orders passed the common sense test, but a number of them have shown themselves to be big hypocrites, showing partiality to certain citizens including themselves, but not others, so, yeah. They aren't trustworthy.

    19. This topic is hitting home today for me. I'm awaiting word of my friend's son's virus test. His boss didn't think it was necessary to stay home at Thanksgiving. He traveled to be with family. Guess what he brought back to the office?? Yep. So now everyone in the office was exposed, has to be tested, and has to stay home til results are back. My friend's son wore a mask but there was exposure for everyone at work and they all have to be tested and wait to see what happens next. All because one person thought they had to eat turkey with family and couldn't wait! My friend is worried and mad too because she's immune compromised and had no family over for Thanksgiving and went nowhere. Now someone inconsiderate may have infected a whole office, including her son.

      Delete
  3. Apparently these folks all think they are immune to the corona virus and aren't carriers. I hope they're right. 14 million people have been infected so far, hospitals are overflowing and 4 people are dying of it every MINUTE in the US. Means nothing to the Duggar clan it seems.

    1. 7:45 please do more research. The virus cases and death rates are skewed. Did you know that positive Covid antibody tests count as actual positive Covid cases? This means they are counting HEALTHY individuals who are no longer sick or contagious as positive Covid cases. Did you know that if a person dies and has Covid ANTIBODIES ( not the virus) then that death will be marked as a Covid death EVEN IF the cause of death was old age, a heart attack, cancer, etc, etc....
While Covid is a dangerous and deadly virus to those who are at risk, in reality there is around an 98% survival rate, maybe higher. Common sense hygiene practices need to be followed. Those at risk should be protected and there needs to be more accurate distinction between positive antibody tests and positive cases as well as true Covid deaths vs deaths with positive antibodies...

    5. Cite your sources. 🤦🏻‍♀️

      Delete
    6. @3:05 Try telling all that to the nearly 300,000 people who have died during the pandemic this year. It doesn't matter to their loved ones if they had antibodies or not. They were sick, someone else carrying the virus made them that way, they died, they're gone and they're not coming back. How many of those deaths were preventable if people had taken more precautions around others and not spread the virus? There's an interesting statistic for you to ponder.

      Delete
    7. 4 people are not dying of it every minute. Be greatly concerned, but fallacies like this makes no one believe any of your hyperbole

      Delete
    8. I heard 2 people per minute on the news last night.

      Delete
    9. 9:18, your 300,000 statistic is skewed, which is what 3:05 was saying.

      Delete
    10. @9:36 Fallacies?
There are 720 minutes in a day..
On Dec 3rd (the day of the post), there were 2926 deaths..
      2926/720 = 4.07.
The US death rate is running between 2 to 4 lives PER MINUTE.
      Fallacy no.. JUST MATH

      Delete
    11. 9:18 300,000 deaths are not ALL Covid deaths!!!!!!! The true death rate ofactual Covid cases ( and not from something else) is LOWER but the CDC is counting EVERY death that has positive ANTIBODIES to the virus as a Covid death. Doesn’t matter if the death was natural causes, if there are antibodies it’s a “Covid” death. This is NOT to negate the seriousness of this virus as it is deadly to those who are high risk. This is pointing out how skewed the data has become. The statistics are not as apocalyptic as the media is portraying

    12. 3:05PM: Unfortunately you're incorrect about everything you just said. I've never heard so much garbage in my life.

      Delete
    13. 7:45PM: Actually, it's about 4 people per minute dying of covid worldwide, not just in the US. AND that's horrible enough.

      Delete
    14. @7:14 Where's your proof that "all" deaths are counting as Covid deaths? It's hard to believe that someone in ICU who came in with double pneumonia and breathing problems, who tests positive for Covid, and then dies of that or a blood clot doesn't qualify as a Covid death.

    15. Or perhaps they took the necessary cautions prior to visiting and everyone involved felt that the trip was warranted.

Can't wait to see Vangy (also the perfect nickname for Evangeline and so she can be depicted apart from her other cousin Evelyn and not have to share and be confused with the nickname Evy)gets older to see if she will look like mommy or daddy. Is Jordyn there because she was Jinger's buddy when she was still living at home? Hope this whole crazy mess with COVID19 settles down again so Evangeline can meet the rest of her aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandpa. Probably guessing that Jinger and Jeremy won't be traveling to Arkansas until Evangeline is older and more immune to sicknesses etc. But hopefully not too long.

    2. I agree 7:22. It doesn't matter if you get tested before you go visiting. You can pick it up on the way, or you could have been carrying the virus just below the testing limit the day you were tested, ready to ramp up to a full spreading case right after that. You can't put faith in a test on one day to prove that you're OK on the days after that. A test is simply a snapshot of one moment.

    3. Rules and regulations are too inconvenient for some.

      Delete
    4. @2:34 Right. I'm missing a lot because others continue to get together like this and spread the virus, making it impossible for others to think about gathering. I'm sticking to myself and planning be alive afterwards and do all my visiting in person then. Until then, there's a phone and a computer and all sorts of ways to keep in touch using those things. At least I know I'm not missing family funerals from Covid.

    3. Yes. It's all I can see. I focus on it and can hardly see the baby. Why do they use these all the time on their kids and think it's cute. It's unnecessary and distracting and probably can hurt the child's head or they could choke or be smothered by it when they pull it down or off.

    1. I don't understand why anyone let's other people in their home during this pandemic, family or not. I've not had anyone in my house at all. The home should be your one safe place. Worry about germs when you go out, but don't invite them straight into your safe place.

      Delete
    2. So you would rather Jinger give birth alone than have someone stay with Felicity.

      Delete
    3. It is best for you during the pandemic not to allow anyone. For others it is not. That is the beauty of choice. If people are masking up, then maybe they feel it is the best choice. We like seeing our friends and our kids still being able to get together and play. No one has had covid yet

      Delete
    4. In this case, it was unavoidable. Jinger and Jeremy needed someone to stay with Felicity while Jinger gave birth. It made sense to have it be a trusted family member who loves Felicity and allowed Felicity to stay at home rather than an unfamiliar place.

      Delete
    5. Maybe people have family over during a pandemic because babies are STILL being born during a pandemic and SOME people might need some help while they are healing..... We are in a pandemic, not dead!

      Delete
    6. Yep. They sure are selfish! If they get COVID, they shouldn't go to the hospital. They can stay home and pray the virus away and leave their ventilators for the essential workers who are risking their health every day to serve their communities.

      Delete
    7. @Frazzled Mom - "yet" being the operative word.

    8. Jinger & Jeremy already had Jeremy parents there to stay with Felicity; they didn't "need" Michelle and Jordyn (and whoever flew them) there for that. If Jinger wanted hre mom there, Michelle should have flown in two-weeks ago and self-quarantined.

      Delete
    9. We don’t need outside help if we have a baby during a pandemic. That’s what Jeremy is for.

      Delete
    10. @3:25, that's a sacrifice you should make during a pandemic,I'm Italian and in Italy it's always been a hospital rule, not just during pandemic, that no one including father is allowed in when in labour, only after baby is born father can come see the baby for sake of keeping germs away,we have no choice but to follow that regulation, anyway you're not alone you have nurses and obstetricians to help all the way,if people don't follow rules during this pandemic they will have someone's death on their conscience,Jinger and Jeremy posted photos of themselves with friends a few days before giving birth, they may not be at risk of death because of their age but Michelle is unfortunately, they could have sent Jana instead and she could have quarantined on her return at Jed and Jer's home.

      Delete
    11. Don't Jeremy and H her have friends in LA? You would think that a friend could have stepped in and watched Felicity rather then have people from out of state fly in to do that. 35. Ok, I have to get this off my chest: It‘s not ok to travel around during a pandemic! Even if you‘re a so-called TV celebrity! IT‘S NOT OK!
I had a baby myself in mid-pandemic. I didn‘t have visitors come to see me or the baby. That‘s ok considering the whole situation. The pandemic is real, get it! Social distancing is NEEDED, not optional. And ist accounts for EVERYBODY! I‘m working as an anasthesiologist and therefore see a lot of COVID-positive, very sick patients. It‘s a slap in the face that people like the Duggars who could use their status/„fame“ to set a good example, don‘t seem to mind at all and travel around! My maternity-leave is shortened because doctors are needed - and others travel around to see newborns???!!! Not ok! Very inconsiderate of others!!!

    3. How can you quarantine at a hotel? You're around other travelers in the hotel daily, a maid comes in and out of your room, and you have to go out for food. Every day and every time you left the room or encountered another person would reset that 14 day clock. Quarantine doesn't mean you pick a place to sleep and the rest of the day do whatever you want.

    4. I don’t agree with this comment. I work at a plasma donation center and see hundreds of people a day that tested positive, have the antibodies, and are completely recovered. In fact. I see more people every week than a hospital ever does. THAT IS THE REALITY. Of course you would only see the very sick patients because that is what a hospital is for. But most people that become positive will recover and not need to be in the hospital. Only stop traveling if you want the airline industry to go bankrupt.

    7. 9:48 They could have easily picked up the virus at a hotel or restaurant while there. I doubt they thought of any quarantine, not the way they've been traveling and having people over to their house all year. They had a huge fall/Thanksgiving party right before this. If they already had the virus this year they should say that so what they're doing now doesn't look as bad.

    10. @11:59 Is there someone in your household watching your newborn then? And since you could be exposed, does that mean you’re not going home until this thing is over?

      Delete
    11. To anonymous 4.37 PM: it‘s actually misspelled with two „s“. The OP obviously made a very common typo in the name of her profession...

    12. OP 11.59 here. My husband stays at home with our newborn. I‘m taking very, very strict precautions (shower, mask, gloves) when coming home from work before I approach our baby. (Very das for me.) I wouldn‘t forgive myself if I passed the virus to ANYONE around me.
I get you, you didn‘t like my comment or you disagree with it. You should know that - usually - I‘m a very positive and supportive person. The pandemic and the very inconsiderate behavior of some people in these hard times have taken a toll on me and other health care workers.
I wish the Vuolos and their new baby only the best and - as I love children a lot - I‘m happy with them for their new addition. I can only state again that I personally think mixing households is NOT what you should do right now. People should for the moment practise social distancing, not bc. it‘s fun but bc. it‘s needed.
Have a blessed day. (And sorry if there are any typos. I‘m so tired.)

    13. 9:56, You're a medical professional who sees hundreds of recovered patients a day and you're still trying to downplay this pandemic? Unbelievable.

      Delete
    14. @9:56 AM: Plenty of people do recover, but 260,000+ have died. How many people need to die for you to take it seriously? 9/11 happened and we all agreed to follow stricter rules to board a plane. Can we all agree that for the moment, we need be stricter on things and wear a mask, keep distanced, and avoid spending physical time with people we don't live with?

      Delete
    15. Wow 9:56AM that must be some plasma center if you're seeing hundreds of willing and eligible post-Covid plasma donors every day! That must be some huge outbreak in your area too!

      Delete
    16. 11:25 Anon - You'd have to wonder if the Duggars have a plane big enough to make it from Arkansas to California. That's a lot of gas miles and a lot of altitude over mountains needed for one small plane.

      Delete
    17. @OP Actually, I felt bad for your baby that your maternity leave was shortened and he or she doesn’t get that time with you and you don’t get that time with him or her.

  36. Thanks to people behaving like the Duggars, I may never get to see or hug certain family members again, because they will probably die from old age or terminal illness (stage 4 cancer) before the pandemic is over and it's safe to travel again. Michelle and the rest of the family could go see Evangeline another time or meet her over video chat. A lot of families including mine don't have that option!

    2. The lockdowns were originally supposed to be in place just to prevent the hospitals from being overwhelmed. Now people like you want us all to stay home forever. All the lockdown does is delay the infections because the virus doesn't go away. "People like the Duggars" are not why the pandemic still exists. California has been on complete to partial lockdown since back in March or April and we still have outbreaks. If lockdowns worked we wouldn't still be getting outbreaks. If you aren't in a risk category the death rate is EXTREMELY low. All the people who want to take my rights away to see my family and friends are scary. If you want to hide in your house for years be my guest. I for one will live my life and be cautious when I am around those in a risk category or in public.

      Delete
    3. @9:56 No, you don't need to stay home "forever." Just until these peaks pass, people get vaccinated, and the new case numbers drop to a much lower level. We're still having huge outbreaks because people are ignoring the lockdown suggestions! People are still refusing to wear masks, still gathering (unmasked) in large numbers, still passing the virus around. You're not helping by seeing your family, not if you have that idea about the virus. How do you know that you or a family member aren't spreading it? Hospitals ARE being overwhelmed right now, so it's more important than ever to stay home!!

      Delete
    4. @9:56 "Hide" in my house?! I've needed abdominal surgery since the spring. There are no elective surgeries being done here. I'm getting worse in the meantime. I need a lot of dental work. It's not safe for me to get that done because I could run into another patient at the dental office (or anywhere in that medical arts building) who's positive but asymptomatic. My teeth are getting worse in the meantime. I'm not CHOOSING to "hide" as you say in my house. I'm being FORCED to. It's the behavior of those who won't stay home and won't stop congregating who are driving the cases up and forcing the rest of us to stay home. Believe me, it's not by choice that I'm "hiding." It's simply too dangerous out there. There are still people I see on the news who won't wear a mask in public! The lockdowns are not delaying the infections. They are going to STOP them, if people would do it properly! Being locked down doesn't mean you still go to church in person, have parties, have friends over... That's what's driving the cases.

      Delete
    5. Lockdowns do work. It's when people don't follow those guidelines/rules that we have issues. The virus doe go away. New Zealand eliminated it at one point because of how strict they were. I will be wearing a mask, distancing, not having guests over to my house until there is herd immunity because I don't want to die, get someone else sick, or further overwhelm hospitals.

If you think you know more than infectious disease experts, then I would love to talk more about this.

      Delete
    6. If people ACTUALLY followed lock down rules, it would work.
The virus needs victims. The idea is to starve the virus of victims. And I shudder to think how worse it would be in the US if there was no lock down!!

The death rate is NOT low. And death is only the worse consequences. There are countless people with long term if not PERMANENT health problems. I seriously doubt the US health system can withstand the strain.

A politician in my country put it correctly. People's civil rights are NOT being taken away by the government or by some faceless people. It is THE VIRUS that is limiting people's movement. So, be angry at the virus.

  38. Beautiful moment for their family! What a lovely little girl! Life doesn’t stop due to covid. There have been many deaths but also life continues with new births. We must be careful but we must live our lives too. None of these people have compromised immunity. Looks like very few family members. I think Jinger’s got a right to her mother and sister looking after her baby while she has another. Come one people! Would it be “safer” if she hired a nanny for 24 hours plus for lots of money to watch her older daughter or should Jeremy not attend the birth or see his child until she comes home. Most hospitals are allowing one support person for births. Exactly what strategy should she employ that would satisfy everyone? Let’s give them a break to celebrate their joy and not cast stones. Basically everyone has had a covid precaution failure. This one is certainly forgivable.

    1. @9:53 You missed the point. Not only were Michelle and daughter there, but Jeremy's parents were there too. Some have said there were more Duggars too. So it was a Covid open house. One or the other mother/mother-in-law would have been enough. There should have been testing and a strict 2-week quarantine period before anyone entered that house too. I hope California has cracked down on visitors now the way other states have. I can't see family and they can't come here or go home again without a lot of health requirement hoops because of our state restrictions, which we respect.

    2. "Life doesn't stop due to covid." For too many, it did. Would you say that to a grieving family?

      Delete
    3. 9:53PM: There was a video that showed Jeremy's parents were already there before the birth, to watch Felicity whenever Jinger went into labor. That's probably enough. His parents are probably a lot less risk to exposure (smaller family circle) than the Duggar parents are. Plus, once you bring the Duggars there too, you're combining 3 households into one home during a pandemic, and the Duggars have exposure to many households (Josh's, Jill's, Jessa's, John-David's, Joy's, Joseph's, Josiah's)

    4. As an involved medical professional I strongly disagree. Let me tell you that there is NO NEED to be immunocompromised to be badly affected by COVID. COVID can lead to permanent disability (e.g. pulmonary fibrosis, meaning you‘ll depend on home-oxygen and have a shortened life span) even if you were completely healthy before. I should probably show your comment to the 17y old patient with COVID-caused stroke I saw 2 weeks ago... perfectly healthy until day X...
Yes, life continues. But what if it changes in the blink of an eye bc. you‘re one of these unlucky people, who were completely happy and healthy before - and then - Boom! - the Virus changes everything...? I bet you‘d be casting stones as well...
And besides, I‘m sure there would have been other options than the Duggars travelling to L.A. to have little Felicity safe and sound during Evangelines birth! Imagine if every momma about to give birth had family travelling cross-country to see her...wow...
As Anonymous 11.59AM wrote, rules like social distancing apply for everybody, not only for „the others“.

    5. anon@ 9:53- What about the other people this family may come in contact while they're "living their lives"? The Duggars may not get very sick should they become infected with COVID, but they can still pass it on to a neighbor, someone at the airport, or a friend. Those same people may work in a nursing home or care for someone vulnerable and unknowingly infect them. You can still be infectious even if you have NO SYMPTOMS. That's how it works and it dumbfounds me that there are still people who do not get that!!!! It wasn't just Michelle that came to visit the Vuolos, it was multiple family members. Unless they all quaratined for at least ten days beforehand in a separate space, how was that necessary, essential or excusable in your eyes? There are countless medical workers who are sacrificing time with their families. They are working relentless and grueling hours caring for the skyrocketing numbers of sick and dying who were infected by those who had just a "forgivable precaution failure." They risk their lives every single day and in some areas, there are serious shortages of caregivers because they are getting sick. This pandemic is calling the shots and we can either choose to be complacent and careless, or we can do whatever it takes to limit the spread of this virus. Doing anything that unnecessarily exposes you or others to the possiblity of infection is selfish and uncaring, IMO.

      Delete
    6. Life does not stop, true. But it should be treated even more carefully and respectfully now, not selfishly or carelessly.

      Delete
    7. 9:53 You made a glaring omission- that COVID can be spread by those who are infected but don't know it and are asymptomatic. If you or the Duggars think you are somehow immune from COVID or getting seriously ill from it because you haven't a compromised immune system, at least have consideration for other people outside your households who you may infect while living your lives any way you wish. We are in the mess we face now because too many have been doing exactly as you suggest. I find no joy in that.

      Delete
    8. When people who ignore public health experts and "live their lives" have NO problem showing up at a hospital when they become very ill with Covid and expect our health care workers to care for them. Yes we should complain because some people (including myself) find this sort of behavior irresponsible.

      Delete
    9. 9:54; The COVID surge we are seeing now is putting a significant strain on hospital capacity, according to Surgeon General Adams, who is in his position courtesy of Donald Trump. Do you believe him? I do, so I'm doing whatever I can to help halt the spread of this disease, which is currently the leading cause of death in the US.

      Delete
    10. 11:52 Thank you for that great response. Unfortunately, there are armchair doctors here who want others to believe they know more about a pandemic than you do...

      Delete
    11. ACTUALLY, going from the way the SARS virus behaves(it hasn't been tested enough with Covid and could be different) if you don't have any symptoms it is unlikely to almost impossible to infect someone. The more virus exposure you get, the more sick you will get. Mild exposure would hardly get you sick. It depends on how MANY viruses you come into contact with.

      Delete
    12. 7:44, while that sounds logical we have to keep in mind that viruses replicate exponentially in the body, so even exposure to a small amount of virus particles could still lead to a severe case. Of course the strength of an individual’s immune system and other factors come into play. Unfortunately, none of us know how we will react to exposure to COVID.

      Delete
    13. 7:44 You are wrong. The virus replicates in your body. That means your "mild" exposure (any exposure is still exposure...) turns into a "major" infection once your body's own cells are hijacked and turned into virus-producing factories. That's what viruses do - use your body to reproduce themselves by massive numbers. You're also wrong about not infecting someone if you don't show symptoms. You are still shedding the virus and are infectious even if you don't feel sick yet or never feel sick. Works the same way with influenza or any virus. Please don't spread misinformation!

    1. Balanced comments are needed because THIS is the problem we are all caught up in right now--people want to only hear what they agree with and tune out the rest--and then we wonder why others can't see how wrong they are. Don't they see/hear what we are hearing and seeing? Nope, we are all only listening to what makes us feel comfortable and reassures us that our way is correct. We aren't learning anything and we aren't gaining any understanding of other views, and this makes the other sides seem ignorant, wrong and even evil. Please keep posting ALL views.

    5. I think people are simply making reasonable observations about some of the Duggar's negative behavior. We're in the middle of an unprescendeted pandemic. People who put themselves out there as evangelical influencers bent on saving souls and the unborn should be setting an example, one that shows they care about doing whatever they can to prevent the spread of COVID and saving lives. The Duggars have shown that they continue to host large gatherings of people outside their household and spend time traveling. There was no need for multiple people to make the trip to LA to help with a new baby.

    6. Anonymous @ 11:04- No offense intended, but the last thing we need is one more "echo chamber", where we only listen to people who espouse what one agrees with and seeks to shut down others who disagree. I think this blog was set up to be a discussion board.

    2. It would still be mixing households. There isn't a guarantee that the church family would have maintained a quarantine "bubble". Having biological family watch Felicity meant Jinger and Jeremy knew Felicity was safe at home and everyone who Felicity would come into contact with. There is an added level of comfort when your child is with someone you fully trust and they are solely dedicated to your child's care while you're in the hospital.

  45. Anonymous 9:27 AM Obviously you haven't quarantined or know anyone who has quarantined at a hotel for 14 days. You literally stay in your room the entire time, if you're on your own its boring as hell but families and/or couples quarantine together ! All meals are delivered outside your door (there's never ANY contact with anyone), you leave plates and cutlery outside your door once finished. NO ONE comes in to clean your room the entire time, fresh linen is delivered again at your door as required. You can't step outside your door until the 14 days is over.

    2. We haven't quarantined at a hotel, but our family was quarantined at home (husband potentially exposed at work by a co-worker, who's teenage son had been exposed elsewhere by someone else). It was a pretty nerve-wracking 14 days, tracking our temps and every little cough, headache, etc. (especially since we all have allergies and allergy season was in full swing). We had to self-quarantine the following month, until a second co-worker got an all-clear. I seriously can't see the Duggars quarantining, especially since they refuse to follow guidelines now.
