New Season in 12 Days!

The Duggars return with new episodes of Counting On in just 12 days. The new season will kick off with Felicity Vuolo's birth and John-David Duggar's engagement. In case you're wondering why only a few of the adult Duggar siblings are in the promo photo above, we assure you that they won't be the only ones appearing on the show this season.

9pm: Love is in the Air NEW!
With the due date near, Jinger and Jeremy get ready to meet Baby Vuolo. Meanwhile, John whisks Abbie away on a surprise trip to ask for her hand in marriage. Later, Jinger's labor takes an unexpected turn.

  1. "Jinger's labor takes an unexpected turn." What? They already shared details. I don't recall anything unexpected. They had time to finish the puzzle, if that's what TLC means.

    1. It's a teaser. I doubt it means much of anything.

    2. She had to be induced which they hadn’t originally planned, the induction medicine didn’t work so they had to try a different method, she ended up needing an epidural which she hadn’t originally wanted, etc. so yeah, there were a few unexpected turns, just nothing dramatic.

    3. I think the “unexpected turn” was a hospital delivery with an epidural. Wisdom during childbirth for a Duggar gal could indeed be labeled an unexpected turn.

    4. Jinger & Jeremy said early on in her pregnancy that they were planning on a birthing center (attached to the hospital) for the delivery. They never planned on a home birth . Also, Jinger was not against having an epidural. She wanted to see if she could have a natural delivery. Both Jinger & Jeremy decided what they felt was the safest for her and the baby. They were very responsible.

    5. The hospital delivery wasn't unexpected. Didn't they go there (or at least to the midwife there) ahead of time to plan everything?

  2. If you can't say anything positive.....many people did not have access to the videos showing the birth. Why come to the site to complain?

    1. I think we should pray for those who come to this site only to complain. They obviously have issues in their own life that cuase them to lash out at others to make them feel better about themselves..It is a sad life to live that way so they need out prayers

    2. My videos don't work like they should, it's frustrating. I have to wait to see it on Counting On... Jane

    3. Maybe their lives are fine and what you're actually seeing are the issues in the Duggars' lives. Maybe it's the Duggars you need to pray for.

  3. Wait I thought Jinger already had her baby and didn't John and Abbie have that nice airplane wedding?

    1. That was shown on a special episode, it wasn't part of last season. They will show more on this season. That's why I opt out of watching the special episodes because I know they will show it next season.

    2. Yes, it happened, but it hasn’t been aired completely (just mini episodes with no interviews).
Things don’t air in real time people! How hard is that to understand?

    3. Yes I agree, I know I remember seeing footage of Abbie as a bride and Jinger in labor.

  4. Unexpected turn? How can these episodes be publicized as NEW? We have already watched this and the 'exciting events' are already history. JD and Abbie have been married for a few months now and she's most likely already pregnant. Old news. TLC needs to step up the time table here. Once gain, like they are reruns. We do not need to see Jinger's baby's delivery again. Once is enough,, thank you.

    1. Exactly. That's why I don't watch the show. It's just a rehash with maybe a bit more film. Some people can't seem to get enough of it though.

    2. It takes time to film and process a show for TV. It is not done overnight.

Instead of blaming TLC, look to the Duggars themselves. If they did not announce these events, with pictures and videos, it would be new to the fans. It is impossible for TLC to come up with new material, that the fans have not seen yet.

    3. So true, 9:02!

  5. with many children in Counting On looks like there would be more to film so not to have a lot of repeats.

    1. It's not a repeat. Abbie and JD wedding and Jinger's labor and delivery video was shown on a special sneak peek episodes, it wasn't part of the season. This season they will show more. They always show sneak peek episodes. It was not part of last season.

    2. Anon 8:48 Exactly how much "more" of JD and Abbie's wedding and Jinger's labor and delivery do we need to see? I must be missing something here, but seeing that stuff again really doesn't interest me so I won't be watching.

  6. As usual we cannot wait for the new season to start as we celebrate with tater tot casserole and ice cream cake. Can't wait to see Josiah and Lauren's honeymoon in Austria. Also Ben and Jessa's new announcement. Hopefully a new courtship. Natasha B.

  7. By all means go to an aircraft hanger that smells of grease, oil and aircraft fuel and propose. So romantic. lol

    1. By all means, go to your place of expertise and give the woman you love a visual reminder of how much of a hardworking, multitalented, manly man you are. So romantic.

^^there, I fixed it for you.

    2. Have you ever been to a aircraft hanger? I have many times as I come from a long line of pilots. If properly cleaned as they are suppose to, it's not the way you just described.

    3. To each their own. I'm sure she loved it. I think it was romantic for them considering what they enjoy doing together. Others wouldn't like it because they don't like airplanes. It fits their story so there is no need to judge his decision.

    4. She seemed pretty delighted with it.

    5. I guess what's romantic for one woman is not for another. Some women want the cliche "long walks on the beach," while others are able see romance in any situation. Romance depends on your companion.

  8. Did Counting On already show JD asking Abbie to court and their courtship? It seems fast, by show standards, to already cover the engagement.

12:41 - I think the unexpected twist is that Jinger had an epidural. There was also concern that Jinger would need to have a c-section because labor was progressing slowly.

    1. Since Jinger's labor and delivery has already been shown, it's highly unlikely that anything happened that is "new".

  9. Cant wait to watch! Thank you Duggars for sharing your life with us!

  10. I wish the season was longer than 6 to 8 weeks. I enjoy watching counting on.

  11. Skipping the entire courtship?

  12. How long will this season last? What is the episode count?

  13. I am so excited for the new season.. it just needs to be longer

  14. I am just here to read the comments of people complaining that they are showing the same stuff from last season which in reality it's not, those was just special sneak peeks instead of making us wait for the next season to see it. It's completely separate from the season that was on at the time.

  15. Jessa & Ben are not in the photo! I hoped they are in the show. Jessa is by far my favorite.

    1. Jill was (IS) MY FAVORITE - I so enjoyed watching her group up, be a great mentor to her "buddies", and then her courtship, engagement, wedding and Israel . . .I miss seeing her and am so happy when something is on this thread about her. I say this because I know how you would feel if Jessa is NOT on the series. TIme will tell.

    2. TLC already said that Jessa and Ben will be on the show.

  16. I can't wait to hear what Jana's big announcement is! Can hardly wait for the new season! I know we've already seen Felicity's birth, but everything else should be new

    1. She doesn't have one. That's just the way the producers formatted the teaser to generate speculation and interest.

  17. Wait! I'm lost! Are they skipping the entire courtship?

    1. I think John and Abbie opted out of filming their courtship. They didn’t ever film the court postal. It’s up to them if they wanted to keep it private

      Delete
    2. Why bother with that, it only lasted a few weeks and we already know how it turned out.

      Delete
    3. They didn't "skip" the courtship; it was only a few weeks. How much could be shown?

  23. Since Joe and Kendra are so private, will they allow the show to film the baby?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably since they let the birth of their son be filmed.

  24. So. The Bates are dancing now! What does JimBob think of that?

    1. Dancing leads to feelings that can't be righteously fulfilled, that's what Jim Bob has said about that.
