  1. Watched last night's episode this morning. It was pretty cool to see Gideon at one month old, and it means we're getting closer to seeing Garrett on camera. Can't wait!

  2. Love the show, but wish the girls would stop saying babe. It pretty annoying when they say it 500 times per show.

    1. Oh I know lol. That was popular back in the 80s

  3. Another great show!
Love the variety of topics and family situations.
I am really going to miss it when the season is over.
Hoping it’s only a short break between seasons 8 and 9!

  4. So there is an extra female & an Asian male!!!
    Waiting for breaking news!!!
I’ve been watching the show since the beginning & know news is in the way ... when adult age non-blood, or non volunteering folks appear. Vacation means news... can hardly wait!!!!

    1. That guy has been hanging around the family for years with no "news" to speak of. I thought he was (years ago) a student who lived with them.

    2. Nope, they’ve said who those two are multiple times, and clarified that they’re only friends, none of the Duggars are courting them

    3. The girl is a friend of the Duggars and helps tutor the kids. I think her name is Laura? She is not romantically involved with anyone. The young man you are referring to is a family friend that often visits the Duggars. Again, he is not romantically involved with any of the Duggars either.

    4. They could just be friends

    5. Laura said on her own that she is not their tutor.

    6. The "asian male" is Elijah, and the Duggars actually have stated that he is NOT courting Jana or anyone else. That being said I won't be totally surprised if he winds up courting a Duggar girl in the next 5-6 years.

While so far the only Duggar marriage with a big age gap is Jinger and Jeremy, I've noticed that many IBLP marriages feature a groom who is 4 to 5 years older than the bride.

This applies to 3 out of 5 Bates marriages; Whitney (Zach's wife), Alyssa, and Erin all married a husband 4-5 years older. And when Josie gets married, it will be 4 Bates marriages with such an age gap. Though Michaela and Tori both married men pretty close to the same age (only a year older, if that).

    7. Neither of them are officially courting a Duggar, YET!

  5. why don't they bring strollers for their kids. I could never sit there for hours holding a baby.

    1. That’s you, some people don’t use strollers at all

    2. Babies prefer to be held and to be able to move. Keeping a child strapped in a stroller is extremely bad for their development, emotionally and physically.

    3. I have back issues so a stroller is very helpful! Those slings just made my back hurt worse

    4. Anon: 1:40, that’s your opinion there is no scientific proof to back that up.

    5. 1:40 So does keeping a child strapped in a car seat, especially when they've long outgrown it.

    6. I use strollers and find that when I'm out my babies sleep much more soundly as opposed to me holding them in my arms when I'm walking. I just don't use the type that doesn't have a back that can lay down. They just look way to uncomfortable for a young baby to be all cramped up while sleeping. As far as being bad for their development, my babies aren't living in the strollers they are just going on an outing with Mom for a little bit.

    7. Exactly! Bring a stroller; not only can your baby stretch out, but Mom can relax her back and arms!

  6. Lauren looks more like her mom and her sisters look more like their dad. Also it was cute that he asked questions about the dress

  7. I love the tenderness between Jinger and Jeremy. They are a sweet couple.

  8. I wish TLC would show them playing games and showing their not perfect. They have disagreements like anyone else and they do it with class. Enjoyed the show.

  9. Love Jinger. When she said about Jana's chickens "may they rest in peace. Or many pieces, I don't know what happened to then" I laughed so hard, she is a funny girl!

    1. That info about dead chickens rankled me. If you have chickens, your main job is to keep them alive. That means taking the necessary safety precautions to save them from predators. But I guess that wouldn't make your chicken coop look like something straight out of Pinterest, more like something straight out of Rikers Island.

    2. Anon at 319AM: Congrats for pretty much the most negative spin possible on Chickengate. Bonus points for questioning Jana's integrity AND competence at the same time, implying the chicken coop was all for show, not a serious attempt to raise chickens there.

Or, since no one has mentioned her ducks being attacked by any predators, she made a mistake that she has learned from, as she is NOT perfect and has never claimed to be, and doesn't deserve such snarky criticism for not being perfect. If she only cared about how things looked, why would she even allow the show to reveal she lost her chickens?

    3. 11:49- Adding the chicken coop was highlighted and attention brought to it. Why not just be honest and explain what happened to the chickens? If Jana learned something in the process, that would be of human interest for her to explain what that was. Viewers who may be considering raising chickens would likely appreciate her candor.

    4. I've gotten the feeling all along that animals and pets are not something the Duggars take serious interest in raising. Poor chickens. Go back to the March "Jana Shows Off Her Garden" post on this blog where you can see the coop and its design. No chicken wire, no pen cover to keep out hawks, not even sure there's a door on the hen house itself, only a ramp. Of course some roaming critter was going to get himself a chicken dinner or two......
