Grand-Duggar #4 Turns 3

Israel Dillard, Jill and Derick Dillard's oldest child and Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's fourth oldest grandchild, turns three years old today. Happy third birthday, Israel!

The Dillards have been in Colorado this week, where Israel was thrilled to see snow. He has experienced a light dusting in Arkansas, but this was the first time he saw a significant amount of snow.

    1. I don’t think they would have brought Damuel if he wasn’t nursing. Plus Samuel could just be carried in a baby wrap the whole time. Israel probably got to stay with his grandmother.

  10. I used to be able to just enter duggarfamilyblog into Safari (OS X El Capitan) and pull up the website. Now I have to add the www.

  11. She looks so much prettier when she just smiles. The open-mouth pictures with her kids that she tends to post seem so forced. Can't say I'm a fan of the nose ring either.

    2. Nose piercings come from Middle Eastern cultures. So weird they became popular in the U.S.

    3. I remember on "19 Kids" when Jill was younger how afraid she was of the dentist. To see her have a stud is surprising. I hate pain so I couldn't do it, even if they do numb the area. It seems more worldly than how they were raised.

    4. I think that’s a mole and not a nose ring.

    5. 12:33, she has said it’s a nose ring.

    6. 12:33 it does look like a mole

    7. It’s not a mole.

    8. Unfortunately, it is a stud in her nose. I'm sad that she did that. It takes away from her beauty.

  14. Nose ring?????? looks like a diamond stud to me and they should all get with the times.....swimming in bathing suits and not dresses.....pants or slacks and just a more relaxed atmosphere. How can you ride bikes, horses, swim in skirts/dreses???? Use common sense.....what is the point?

    1. Jana, Jinger and Jessa have started wearing men’s board shorts for water activities. Why that is ok but jeans aren’t is still a mystery to me.

      Delete
    2. The Duggars don't dress like the Ingalls did or the Amish do, they used to make their own clothes but now seem to buy premade. I don't agree with the no pants rule, but to say they should get with the times is pretty harsh. Would you also want them to wear string bikinis?

      Delete
    3. The were leggings under their skirts when they ride horses. They don't havv to wear swimming suit when they go swiming. I wear pants when I go swimming.

    1. The Israelites had nose rings

    2. I really don’t know how one could argue that piercing an earlobe is somehow different than piercing anywhere else.

      Delete
    3. Yes it is. Or rather its following a religion other than Christianity and I've been surprised and disappointed at jill to do so. But since they got involved with that Cross Church it seems like they want to be like everyone else there. It's like that saying that says to some degree, Choose your friends wisely. You become like them as you are together. (Not the right words-but gives the idea)

      Delete
    4. Why is it worldly? Women wore nose rings in Bible times.

    5. Hey she lives in THIS world, doesn't she? How is her nose piercing affecting you? It her self expression, calm down.

      Delete
    6. Anon at 6:03PM: This is one of the most extreme comments I have ever read on this blog, that wearing a nose ring or stud is "following a religion other than Christianity". In your own comment you mention the Cross Church that Jill and Derek now attend. Last I checked that is a Christian church, not a mosque or temple of another religion.

      Delete
    7. Religion aside, how do you blow your nose with one of those studs in there? Doesn't "stuff" get caught on the backing? And doesn't it feel creepy to have something metal up there? I can hardly stand it when the doctor swabs in there for a culture!

  17. How can the Duggars be so with it with eye make up, piercing etc and not show modern dress with slacks/shorts and just a more modern look??? They are all such pretty girls and know it since they do their make-up to make themselves look good, but when you add their wardrobe and other things, what is the deal?

  20. With all the complaining on here about negative comments, and how this blog should be sunshine and roses all the time, I would like to point out that the Duggars consider their show to be a ministry about the goodness of Jesus Christ. A ministry does not exclude sinners, but rather welcomes them. You are not going to persuade anyone to follow Christ by ranting about their behavior, and in fact will only drive them away from Christianity. It is the complaining that has made this site ugly, and it is coming from those who supposedly support the Duggar's ministry. Ignoring works better, try it.

    1. I know. Can you imagine being more interested in bringing children into the world than income into your household?

      Delete
    2. 9.17pm How do you know he doesn't work a 40 wk for the church? - that's still a vital job someone had to do and God values. Just because his job is not in secular world doesn't mean he works diligently any less.
11.14pm He's not more in interested in bringing children into the world than an income. He works for the church and has responsibilities in his church role, a role I'm sure he takes seriously & works diligently at. His income is provided by sponsors and it takes courage to trust God month to month to provide for him & his family. It's not a cop out it's called living by faith as he obediently follows where God has shown him.

  25. I understand that Jill confirmed somewhere that she did have her nose pierced. Can someone explain why it is now not a sin for her to have done so? I thought their religious beliefs did not include piercing anything but females' earlobes. Thank you.

    1. I'm not sure that nose piercing is a "sin". Evidently the Duggars (or Jill at any rate) has decided it isn't. Now I do wonder if she had her belly button pierced. That was quite popular about 15 years ago.

      Delete
    2. Nope, not a sin.

      Delete
    3. I have never heard that piercing your nose is a sin??? That’s making up a rule to make yourself feel better and someone else look like a sinner. Let’s leave the Judgements to Him.

      Delete
    4. I don't think they thought of a nose piercing as anything sinful but just had a personal preference not to have one at one point". God doesn't judge us on preference but on principle. I think of what God said in Samuel 16:7 where He tells us that man judges on the outward apperance but God judges the heart. Now we also have to remember that that is not a reason to dress in a seductive way, short skirts, revealing outfits because He also warns us not to cause others to stumble by the things we do and wear. But nose piercings are no big deal, no one will be lead astray through something like that.

      Delete
    5. I think it should be obvious that when derick and jill got involved with a mega church, there was a change in their lives and beliefs to fit in with the crowd of young people over there.

      Delete
    6. That was their preference. They never said it was a Biblical mandate not to get a piercing. Opinions can change.

      Delete
    7. A sin? If they can pierced earlobes, a nose piercing should be no problem. And where does it say in the Bible one is ok but the other is not.

Not religious, more than cultural norms in their group that dictates dress.

    8. It is a sin in the Bibel.

    Replies
    1. No she doesn't. A stud in your nose isn't a sign you're pregnant.

      Delete
    2. You can’t see her tummy why do you say that. To be safe she would be advised to wait a minimum of two years between C-sections.

      Delete
    3. At this point, it's fairly safe to assume that all the Duggar wives are pregnant, just gave birth, or are about to be pregnant!

      Delete
    4. She not pregnant

      Delete
    5. Of is not safe for her to be pregnant.

      Delete
  29. Nope, this pic is from a month or two ago, and she’s posted more pictures recently, definitely not pregnant. She’s shows really quickly and it would be very noticeable by now. How about don’t say someone looks pregnant, you’re basically calling them fat.

  32. Isreal is a cutie. I just wish they wouldn't put so much hair product in his hair and stop styling it with this side parting. Looks a lot like Germans in the 1930s in my eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  33. But anon 2:59 He also tells us not to mar the body on the outside. How do you explain that? Our bodies are to be the temple of Christ as He lives in us so I can't imagine ruining His temple and marring it just for a dumb self expression. What more is a beautiful self expression (if you want to call it that) when we are "cleaned" up from all tattoos and piercings?
