Counting On has been off the air for six weeks now, and we know you all are eager to hear whether the Duggars will be returning for a new season. We have been in contact with TLC, but at this time, there are no announcements to share. As soon as there is news to give, we will post it here.

In the meantime, we're curious to hear what you like most about the show and what other TV programs you watch, if any?

    1. I agree. There aren't Christian shows out there. Good examples of how we should live for God, all we see these days are sex violence and hate. This is refreshing to see how they live for God and show us ways some have never seen of being Godly. I hope you continue to let us watch the show. We need it.

  6. Please return....How can TCL not have you returning with all the "trash" stuff on??? I like seeing the older guy and families. Please let this show continue.

  7. Please keep showing this series. It's about the only decent program out there. There are so many people who would be very disappointed if it were to go off the air.

  8. I love this family including their spouses. I can't wait to see them on air again. I hope very soon.

  9. I like that they live simply, in gods image and do what they can to help and encourage others. They try to uplift everyone instead of beating them down if they are different than them.

  10. I have watched your family since the beginning! I love each of them..rejoice when they rejoice, pray for them...I love to watch as they grow into beautiful unique individuals with their own interests, strengths, etc! Love being updated on family news! I personally feel very frustrated with TLC for what I perceive to be persecution of Jill's husband for posting his deeply held religious beliefs. Love and prayers to all of you.

  11. Leave TLC go to UPTV I would so love to see your entire family back on the show. Including Josh,Anna & their kiddos. I'm sorry for what happened to you girls when you were younger but that's in the past you guys have forgiven Josh, he received counseling etc so they need to let it die & move on.. I dont understand how they can criticize your Family take The Duggars off the air replace it with some of the smut they have now... Transgendered show is ok P L E A S E...Love you guys. Wishing all a Very Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year ♡

  18. I will no longer watch if it’s on. Derick really made a huge mistake with his transgender comments and his go fund me page. This had alienated a lot of viewers. Sorry....

    1. Why even get on this site if it bothers you? We love that show and watch very little than anything else. We would be very disappointed if TLC would take it off

    2. I don't know, 1:31...the same question could be asked of anyone who insists on being on TLC when they don't agree with the programming.

      Delete
    3. There is no such thing as transgender. God made male and female, period. It's an afront to the character of God to suggest anything else.

  19. I wrote to the station again. I love this family and want to keep up with what's going on with them.I love all of them, but especially the adult daughters, the married couples & Jana too. I love seeing Michelle too

    1. Me too, I would love to watch Anna and her family. Also it won't be the same without Derick. How could they do that cut off authentic people? TLC it is called freedom of speech!

  20. I watch anything Duggar and Sister Wives. Would love to see both of them back soon!!!

  21. Liked it when they were young. These shows of the couples are rather boring.

    1. I actually enjoy the couples

    2. Anon @ 6:15 I have to say i agree with you. The shows have become monotonous, its courtship, wedding dress shopping, weddings, pregnancy and babies, and repeat for the next sister. If they were doing different things like going to college, staring up a new business or career, taking a gap year and travelling the world just to see and experience it that would all make for a more interesting show, im afraid i've hardly watched these past two seasons it is so boring!

      Delete
    3. Agree! Same old stuff over and over. Really love the family but when nothing other than births and weddings happen, it gets dull.

      Delete
    4. Oh please college, money and wordly things...seen it, done that boring! Life is meaningless without Christ. Truly loving Christ is LOVE and LIFE.
The Duggars are so popular only because they have a lot of love for each other. The Duggar ladies are classy, gorgeous and have great character. The men too.
I would love to see the new little ones on the show and how they're doing, and all family members! :) how they're doing with each other and through life's challenges and difficulties, how they cope, as well as joyous moments. I don't watch much TV, I don't want to be brainwashed. I love to see authentic families, not ones that don't live their life with a great purpose and meaning. Everything in this world will pass, Christ and His teachings remain forever! ;) A show that gives us hope in this fallen world gets my view. =)

      Delete
    5. I disagree, the rest of world and Hollywood is sinful and dull. Same boring shows on over and over. The Duggars are Christ centered and full of life. Love them.

  22. Love the Duggars, and if I were them after the way TLC did Derrick I would be going to another network

    2. I think it is time for duggar family to head to a different channel. I love the Duggar family but since they are so anti everything else on tlc, not sure it's a good fit.

      Delete
    3. I would love to see the Duggar family on a different TV show too. Maybe they need to start their own YouTube channel or another channel if there's something better out there? TLC lost my view when they kicked Derick off the show for speaking. Also I would like to see Anna and her family. The Duggar family have handled everything so well despite great difficulties.

  25. I enjoy watching the family grow in size. I appreciate the fact that they are Christian and living by Christian values. Other TV shows that I watch are Music and the Spoken Word on the BYUtv channel, hockey, and game shows. That's about it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I like it when more members of your family are featured. I also watch other families on TLC. And a lot of HGTV. Please keep the Duggars on the air!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I love Counting On. I love that it's a show the whole family can watch without concern for what will be said or done. This show is something positive for children to emulate rather than the majority of what is on television anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I would honestly like the Duggars to go off the air altogether! The older married children have fallen so far away from their convictions, that made them famous in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The "godly" values are slipping, leaving the "ungodly" ones much more visible, sadly.

      Delete
    2. You mean their parents convictions? Just because they followed their parents rules when they lived at home doesn’t mean they believed them. Also as people grow they change. Not all changes are bad.

      Delete
    3. Some of them married husbands that didn't grow up the same way they did. Different influence now.

      Delete
    4. Whoa, hold it right there. You need to check what you are calling "godly," because the Bible warns us not to add to it. Remember, there are people reading this that are not Christians, and we are called to represent the Bible accurately.

If you're talking about their clothing -- the Duggars always admitted that their clothing restrictions were their own, not from the Bible -- in other words, man-made rules.

Now that the girls have married and are not subject to their parents' rules, they are free to follow their own rules of dress. As to "convictions," they can change, and it appears they have. There is nothing ungodly about Jinger ditching the man-made rules and now showing her shoulders or wearing jeans.

      Delete
    5. Well said, 5:03!

      Delete
    6. Convictions by God and from God do not change because God does not change. He's the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change His mind. Human opinions, however, are subject to change. If their "convictions" changed, then they were not convictions; they were human opinions. Personal integrity requires standing up and saying, "I thought that [the idea] was God, but I was wrong.".

    2. 9:14, surely you're not insinuating that Patty homeschools because she misspelled a word? I've worked with a number of products of public school who are atrocious spellers.

      Delete
    3. Why would you assume this person is or was homeschooled? It is ridiculous to make those kind of assumptions especially considering a lot of people type from their phones and the phones change words all the time “trying to help”.

      Delete
    4. 9:14, I've been published on the subject of grammar. It's rude to correct someone's grammar unless you're the parent/teacher or you have been asked.

    5. Patty, please don't worry about the spelling error. I make mistakes quite often. My mistakes consist of spelling errors at times and many other things. I almost guarantee that anon @ 9:14 makes mistakes too. So, no worries about spelling errors. Everything will be OK, lol. Merry Christmas and be safe! -Laurel

  37. I love TLC, I watch most all shows but as a Christian I cannot watch shows which I feel go against the teachings of my Lord. I think it is wrong to persecute anyone that does, therefore I want to see Derick back on the show.

    1. Please explain exactly what TLC did to persecute Derick.

      Delete
    2. TLC discriminated against Derrick
      for his basic, biblical beliefs.

      Delete
    3. No, TLC did not "discriminate" against Derick. He was as much of a part of his show as Jazz was on her show, and TLC accepted both equally. What TLC did have to do, though, was stand up for one employee when another one said some bad things about her. Any employer would do that in the workplace. Because Derick didn't simmer down after the first time and kept saying things, that was it for him. He brought this on himself by not being able to treat a coworker with respect.

The show is like an anchor in the midst of all that's painful in the world today.I do not agree with all the Duggar beliefs, but I do find the Duggar members kind, good, loving .For someone like me,who came from a very dysfunctional family with little to no family support, this show became a beacon for me.I like to think about how Michelle Duggar deals with the stressors she has as a mother to an extremely large, varied family, and how despite strife, she and her husband continue to adhere to a belief system which sustains their family members.I enjoy following the older kids as they marry, have their own babies, encounter challenges.I like visiting their web sites, watching videos of Duggar family members discussing various topics, espousing the importance of very basic tennets of life, not easily practiced in todays world.I do hope the show Counting On continues.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I love Counting On! I cant wait to hear when it will be returning. I love seeing the grand babies and wish they would show more of Mason Garrett, Anna and Josh's youngest child. Mason is now nearly three months old, as of 12-12-17. Samuel is nearly 5 months old as of 12-8-17. Henry is now nearly 10 months old as of 12-6-17. Their big brothers (Spurgeon and Israel are 2 1/2, and 2) Mckenzie, 8, Michael, 6, Marcus, 4, Mckenzie, 2. Mason's big sisters and big brothers. But all the duggars are awesome, I just love the grand babies and seeing them.

Cant wait to find out if Jinger is pregnant yet but I think she and Jeremy are being smart and waiting to start their family so they can enjoy each other and being together.

    1. Surely you aren't suggesting that the couples who had babies right away were not smart? That's a private decision for each couple to make.

      Delete
    2. 9:42 It isn’t smart to have kids if you are not in a position to provide a loving and stable home. ( I am not in any way implying that any of the Duggars fall into this category.)

    2. It's not the decision of the family which network their show will be on. The networks decide what shows will be on their channels. The family's agent can pitch to UP, and then it's up to UP if they want to explore the possibility of putting them on the air. That's the way it works.

Despite not watching Counting On since November 2016, I do enjoy watching DCTV Superhero shows such as The Flash and Supergirl...despite the fact that they shove 🏳️‍🌈 in our faces from time to time. I honestly don't like some of the "older versions" of DC superhero movies due to the excessive amount of violence and gore. I'm still surprised they still get a PG-13 rating. I much prefer the Animated Shows better as they're not so much in your face. #YoungJustice #SuperMartian

  65. I like watching the show when all the family is in it because I have watched the show since all 19 kids where in it and TLC was not smart to pull Josh off the air or Derek off the air.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. TLC had a contract with Josh, and most entertainment industry contracts have morals clauses. TLC had no choice there but to pull him from the show. You have to give TLC credit for allowing ANY Duggar back on the air after those incidents.

    2. Stephanie, please don't reply for all Christians. As a Christian I am tired of having to explain to non christian friends/co-workers why when the bible says dont do this, the duggars do it anyway. I've taken to just using them as an example of the lukewarm christian Jesus says he will spit out.

  67. I personally would like to see the Duggars leave TLC and go to UPTV. I think it's a much better network, and then they would also be on the same network as the Bates Family, so they could be featured on each other's shows. Sounds like a good move all around if you ask me! 😉

    1. That would make a lot of sense for sure. UPTV would be more suitable for sure...but then I wouldn't be able to watch because we don't get UPTV in Canada. But, thankfully, this blog is here! Love this blog!

  70. I like the show because it features a conservative family that balanced out the other reality shows on t.v. Also, I've been watching the Duggars for years and it is nice to see them growing up. However, if they are going to bring back the show I hope the girls address some of the changes they've made. For example, if Jill's got some new piercings they should show her getting them done. People care about what the Duggars wear because that is part of what they built their brand on. If they are changing they should talk about it like they talked about it before the changes. If they don't talk about their lives then what is the point of the show? Anyway I do hope the show is back.

    1. I agree with you.

    2. I would also enjoy hearing how the ones who have adopted new choices (pants, piercings) made those choices....was it hard, is it rebellious or just a personal reflection of style. I imagine there are feelings of internal conflict and would love to hear from them. We all face decisions that define who we are separate from our families of origin, how are the Duggars finding their adult identities?

  73. I love everything about the show!! You’re all such an encouragement to me. It’s so great to see other young women dressing modestly and loving Jesus. I’m always inspired by you guys, you helped me change my life forever for the better and helped me find Jesus again <3

  74. Of course it’s coming back. Why else would you have posted this?

  75. I think the things that were so endearing about the Duggar family was their frugal lifestyle. Also there dress code and their beautiful ability to not try to fit into the world. My problem now is that once they grew up all those unique qualities and strengths got thrown away and they are just like any other young couple. So there is nothing left that stands out so I don't know what they could have a show about. I believe the only show will have to be Jim Bob and Michelle with the younger children.

    1. I agree with you with what I found intriguing about the show. I also realize being around the same age as the older children that we go through a stage of finding ourselves and what we stand for as an individual. I think the older children are going through that right now. I don't think they have abandoned their faith or their values, but I do think they are weighing rules, right/wrong, and Biblical truths in their lives. I would still love to hear from Jim Bob and Michelle as they continue to raise their younger children.

    2. I agree ,I think the girls are finding their own style and selves..
and doing things that other girls did when they were in high school,
And now they are free to try new and different things
None of which are sinful....they were raised well..they won't depart from those values........
      so -good on them

    3. If TLC doesn't bring you back I hope your show can be picked up by UPS. Their ratings (and advertisers ) will be happy. I love this show because these kid's are wonderful examples to other kids that need a different prospective on life, love and God. Sad to say, but that's sorely lacking in today's society. The Duggar's always find something nice to say or they don't say anything at all. Watching thus family from the early years has been very entertaining and I would really miss keeping up with their family news and adventures.

  77. I love everything about the show! I love the sincerity of the Duggars and the way they live their lives. Their love for each other and others demonstrates God’s love to everyone. I don’t watch any other TV shows( since we don’t get UP TV I can’t watch the Bates:/). Hoping and praying for another season😊

    1. The Duggars have not cornered the market on sincerity or love. There are many MORE deserving families out there who could be an inspiration. But they don't seek the fame and fortune that TV time brings. They live their lives quietly. So should the Duggars.

      Delete
    2. No one said they cornered the market. They didn’t go looking for a tv show. People were curious about them. I became interested in them when I saw how well behaved their children were despite having so many of them. I loved how kind and sweet that Michelle talked to her children. It does seem to be more rare these days to have parents who speak to each other respectfully and speak kindly to their children. I love their values and love for each other.

    5. 7:10, I disagree. Even though I don't at all agree with Jaz, he is 13 and there was no reason to call him out by name when doing that goes against his contract with TLC. If you break rules in your contract you get fired, that's how life works.

  84. I hope it comes back. I love watching the show. It is the only TLC show my family watches. I really enjoyed it more when they included more coverage of the younger children. I don't like that they replay so many scenes - boring! The family is not boring, but the editing has gotten very bad. Does anyone know what the ratings were last season? I can't help but wonder if they went down it is because of the poor editing, replaying many scenes over again and the delay in airing events of the family. I really hope it comes back, it is peaceful viewing.

  85. I love the discipline that the little kids get. I used to love watching The Little Couple, but now their children rule the roost and it's agony to watch. The Duggars show you that you can discipline very lovingly.

  86. Unfortunately, it’s because the rest of the world wants to take wholesome television and twist it as much as they possibly can to convince everyone that IT is the trash. And the actual trashy television? “oh, they’re just being their true selves” *Applause* #SMH

  89. The whole Duggar family needs to be on t.v. - it is truely necessary - with the amount of garbage on t.v. these days. They are a beacon of light and families need to see these values and morals lived out. Some changes are necessary, one of them being the silly questions the adult children are asked. They are a good indication that TLC does not have anything better to fill the time with. Another change is not spending so much time on 'what's coming up next!!' These seem to be fillers and degrade a show as far as I'm concerned. The show would be more balanced and varied with every member of the family involved.

    ReplyDelete
  90. They should move to UP TV and put the whole family back on.

    ReplyDelete
  91. I have been watching since first episode. I am not sure I like a couple of the in-laws, Derrick was so out of line. I do respect the fact that Josh has been out of the program. Thank you. I love that is family oriented, Christian values. I think we have been seeing a lot of Jessa lately, so try to balance please. I like watching Sister Wives, Destination True, Josh Gates anything, and mostly History Channel, National Geography, Hallmark Channels. Thank you, God bless!

  94. I enjoy the show because it shows the joys of having a large family. I also like seeing how the children learn practical skills that come in handy and budgeting by buying used and doing their own repairs. I like watching shows about people with different lifestyles than the norm. I also watch the Little Couple and I am Jazz on TLC. I enjoy the Little Women Programs on Life Time also.

  95. What I liked most about the show is seeing how such a big family operates on an average day and how they tackle the every-day hurdles. I am not a fan of what the show as turned in to: season-long, drawn-out wedding specials and recap shows.

    1. Well stated! The novelty of a large family and their simple solutions to everyday tasks is what I miss! This new show seems like they are just another "famous" idle reality family.

  96. I’ve been watching the Duggar family since there were 17 kids, I just love watching the kids grow up! And now as a young woman myself, i like seeing the girls getting married & having kids. I also like seeing the younger kids & the activities they do, along with Jim Bob and Michelle.
I wish they’d show us more of Jana too! We all love Jana!
I honestly wouldn’t mind seeing Josh and Derick again either. I wanna see what their families are up to.
Other shows I watch on tlc: say yes to the dress Atlanta, (& toddlers & tiaras when it was on).

  98. We enjoyed Counting On, we have watched the family from the beginning. I enjoy seeing how the younger generation incorporates their faith into their new adult lives. Everything has a "season". I am perplexed as to way someone (Derek)who is obviously religious would be in trouble for his personal views which are normal for many bible believers. Which is tbe targetted audience.
We also love watching the Bates family regularly.

    1. Those "personal views" attacked a co-worker. No employer is going to stand for that.

  99. I think the show has passed its prime. It seems like it only focuses on those who are courting/engaged/married. While the older unmarried children do appear I can't remember when last they had a focus on their lives. Jana used to work as a doula, does she still? If not what does she do? What about the older boys, John-David, Josiah, Jeremiah and Jedidiah. What do they do?
Also there's the problem that by the time an event like a wedding airs it's old news (I realize that that's an inherent problem for all reality shows not just this one). So they show the event and then go backwards with the preparation for it which often seems endless. And then people like Josh and Derek don't help their cause by their unfortunate actions and words. Sorry to say I think it should be cancelled and leave the Duggars to their own lives.

    1. Not trying to be mean, but I agree. It’s time for the duggars privately raise the rest of their children. Like the rest of us.

    2. Agree. This family has had its moment. Time to move on (not Count On) and find another more interesting subject to air.

      Delete
    3. I think the Duggars maybe had something to offer when they began 14 Kids, whether that was being novelty entertainment with so many children or just family management tips. In light of the scandals (Josh's 2, as well as IBLP's), they've lost the majority of public respect (as well as viewing support). Counting On, as someone said above, is a pretty empty show, with little to offer apart from thrift or gift shopping, trips, get-aways, vacations, decorating their houses, watching a couple cook a meal or take care of a child or two, rounds of "big" weddings, staged and filmed "honeymoon" activities, baby showers, etc. It's all milk, no meat. No one ever tackles the hard questions or difficult moments of life. Its all fluff.

  100. I love catching up with you all and watching the older kids branch out in there new families and watch you all start your own family and continue to watch you grow spiritually. I like wachting our daughter and any other family shows on TLC but not 90 day marriage show. I don’t like the fighting I rather watch Christian family show like Counting On and Outdaughter the new family who just had 5 babies. I hope TLC puts you all back on!!!!!

  103. It is sad that TLC can not let this family be on the air because of a mistake of one of their family members. How about taking the direction of how a family heals after something terrible happens. No matter what happens we have two choices: 1. play a victim or 2. heal and move on. I do believe this family did the latter but we the public are not allowed to see that. So sad....

  104. I Almost forgot to add that my favorite show to watch is Andi Mack on Disney Channel It's about a girl name Andi Mack half Chinese AMERCIAN half white AMERCIAN she finds out that her older sister Bex is actually her mom her mom Celia is actually her moms mom. The next episode is on Friday Andi is going on a date with Jonah. Not sure If the TV writers will have a gay love storyline with Jonah & Cyrus Cyrus is Andis best friend she has another friend to Buffy.I also watch old TV shows on YouTube like Malibu CA which is a old Teen sitcom about 2 twin brothers who don't look like at all live with their dad while their mom go to another country. It was a old 90s show NBC use to have TNBC which was a block about teen shows that block ended in 2002. Malibu CA was part of my childhood I watched It every Sunday morning on channel 11 at 8:00AM. It was a TNBC show put that was not on channel 4.

  105. I wish only the best for the family and have followed the show for years but I have to agree that the format of the show has become monotonous. I do hope they work something out for them including a better format.

  106. I think the show cannot be revived. Interest in the Duggars has waned -- most people don't even know who they are now. They only became "stars" due to having 19 children. If the show DID come back, it needs to feature the new couples getting careers and supporting themselves, not making a living off of reality TV where no adult appears to have a regular paycheck -- just weddings and baby births; one after the other. A reality show is not a "career" to work at until you retire. I think "fame' went to their head and they are now paying the price by having their paycheck pulled out from under them. I watch TONS of other shows on TLC.....ALL the house buying, remodeling and reselling shows, etc.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I am sure that Jeremy gets a regular paycheck as a pastor. Joy and Austin don't flip houses to earn no money. Plenty of people flip houses for a living whether the paycheck is "regular" or not. Jim Bob owns commercial property and rental property. Ben does work for him, and I am sure gets paid to do it. Some of the other boys buy and sell cars for a living. You obviously don't watch the show if you don't think they work. Watching them work all day wouldn't make for an exciting show, but they show glimpses of them doing different projects (tile work, fixing up houses) or selling cars.
