2012 has been a year of non-stop adventure for the Duggars.
After ringing in the New Year, the stars of
19 Kids and Counting announced their choice for president by joining forces with candidate
Rick Santorum.
From January through April, different groups of Duggars traveled back and forth between Arkansas and various
campaign events.
Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, the four oldest girls volunteered with
Journey to the Heart, a girls' ministry headquartered in the Chicago suburbs. In June, Ellie spoke with Jill about the
girls' upcoming book, which they now hope to release in 2013.
A month after celebrating
Michael's first birthday, the family headed off to speak at
Vision Forum's Reformation of Food and the Family Conference.
In July, the kids surprised mom and dad with a
decorated car and a night away, in honor of their 28th wedding anniversary.
During the summer, the Duggars hosted their
family reunion...
...And threw a party for
Jinger and Joseph's high school graduation.
Michelle's
46th birthday in September gave the Duggars another reason to
celebrate. As part of her special day, Michelle received an extreme
makeover.
And
just when the mom of many thought her birthday was over, Jim Bob and
the kids presented her with one last gift--a trip to Japan and China!
That night, Michelle made sure to tell each of her kiddos how much she
appreciated all they had done for her.
Packing
for 25 (19 kids + 2 parents + 1 Grandma + 1 daughter-in-law + 2
grand-babies) is no easy task, but the Duggars were soon on their way.
The trip has not yet aired on TLC, but we shared a few teasers. While in Asia, the family appeared on Japanese TV...
Explored the
Great Wall of China...
...And met fans that they didn't know they had.
The last three months of 2012 were more laid back for the Duggars. They spent time at
Silver Dollar City...
Hung out at home...
Cheered on the Razorbacks...
...And celebrated
Christmas.
This evening, the Duggars will continue their tradition of praying in
the New Year. At about 15 minutes to midnight, they will gather with
family and friends to thank God for the past year and pray for the
upcoming one.
Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2013!
