Just three days after their one-year wedding anniversary, Jana Duggar Wissmann, and Stephen Wissmann have a big announcement to make. They are expecting a baby in January! It will be fun to see how similar this little one looks to Jeremiah and Hannah Duggar’s three daughters, as Hannah and Stephen are siblings.
This is the best news!!! Congratulations to them both and the families as well! I can just imagine how excited everyone is! 😊
ReplyDeleteIt would be amazing if this grandbaby #40
ReplyDeleteIt is
DeleteI think it will be.
DeleteI guess she had to wait until her sister was done with the 42-part birth story before she could announce. Once again Jana takes the back seat.
ReplyDeleteSome people have a strange way of saying, "Congratulations."
DeleteMaybe but one could also phrase it she had the grace to let her sister and their family have their moment and then she had hers.
DeleteI think she waited to honor their 1st anniversary.
DeleteI don’t think she is taking the back seat at all. If Jessa wants to separate her baby’s birth story into four parts, she can, and Jana has the same choice when her baby is born. Jana seems very happy.
DeleteLMAO. Yeah, she did strettttttccchhh that out a bit. I think Jana is much less of an attention-grabber though. She'll quietly go about her business and shine as she always does.
DeleteSo true!!
Delete@4:08 Where is it written that every comment and every opinion has to be the same?
DeleteDefinitely double cousins and I heard it is twin girls. Is it?
DeleteOMGOSH OMGOSH!!!!!!! PLEASE JANNA TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF, AND PUT YOUR FEET UP, AND I LOVE U 3!!!!!! JANNA LIKE OMGOSH!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats from my mom and.I!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! 🎉
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDelete💙🩷
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely. Happy for them
ReplyDeleteso glad they waited a year
ReplyDeleteThe conceived just months after marrying as a 35 year old. She probably didn’t “wait” for anything.
DeleteHow would you know they 'waited'? Maybe they were having fertility problems...no one knows the struggles of others. Be kind.
Delete10:56, taking under a year to get pregnant isn’t considered fertility problems……
DeleteConsidering all the dates, I'd say there was no waiting or fertility issues. I'm actually surprised she managed to get pregnant within one year.
DeleteShe already was very involved in raising about 13 children. Maybe she does not need to raise many more? However: if she can have many kids and she WANTS many kids, then this is, what counts. Her body, her choice.
DeleteWhatever happens, I hope, that she, her husband and her Baby or babies will be happy and healthy and have a good life together!
She didn't wait a year. She got pregnant eight months after her wedding. Considering her age, that's a normal timeframe.
DeleteSo happy for them. I think it's going to be a girl.
ReplyDeleteYour 50% right.
DeleteMaybe the baby will be born on her (and John's) birthday!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Jana and Stephen. Their baby will look like a sibling to Jeremiah and Hannah's children... That's really fun!
ReplyDeleteNeed to update the blog photo at the top.
ReplyDeleteWith about 75 people (and counting) on it?
DeleteNo need too update blog photo header. I want too see the Duggars who want to be seen and hear the Duggars who want too be heard.
DeleteCongratulations! Will this baby be the 40th grandchild for Michelle and Jim-Bob?
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteI do believe so since Jessa's Edward was #39. Unless one of those who isn't online is expecting but i don't think there is.
Delete@5:43: Yes, when this baby arrives Michelle & Jim Bob will have 40 grandchildren.
DeleteI AM SOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m am so happy for them!
ReplyDeleteI think Jana and Stephen will be really great parents. Jana already has years of experience raising her younger siblings as well as her many nieces and nephews. So this will be her first time raising a biological child of her own. Chances are that Michelle will be there for the birth and delivery as she has for most of the Duggar grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteThis news made my day!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! So happy for her! She’s getting a late start but still could have 8-10 by age 45. Fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed for 8 to 10 children in 10 years time? You are crazy.
DeleteI see what you did there. Posted for reaction.
DeleteShe's doing things on her own time, I'm happy for her. Congratulations Jana.
DeleteFor real?! There’s nothing wrong with only having one or two kids!
DeleteGlad to see you are part of Jana’s family planning. You know, maybe she likes the freedom to do what she wants! I think this was the rudest comment of the post!
Delete@ 2:13. That's debatable. God said be fruitful and multiply which means you have to have 3 or more to multiply so 1 or 2 would not be enough to obey God in that.
DeleteGod knows what's in our hearts.
Delete@8:27 You are certainly free to have as many children as you like. Other people are free to do the same, or have none at all. If you take everything in the Bible literally, then it stands to reason you don't wear mixed fabrics, eat "unclean", meats, and believe people who work on the Sabbath should be put to death.
Delete8:27 What a blow to people who are physically unable to have more than one or two children. Obviously they are disobedient to God. I don't know how they can live with themselves or be a good parent to the children they do have, given that they are so blatantly going against what God said. ...In other words, it's not "debatable" and nobody's business if you only have one child. Would a church look down on families with only one or two children or pressure them to have more? Then it's no church to get involved with.
Delete@2:49 Actually I do not wear mixed fabrics, nor do i eat unclean meats, and as far as the Sabbath goes, that was old Testament Jewish theocracy which we are not under anymore. The Sabbath of old is not the Sunday of today. The sabbath was Friday evening to Saturday evening. Today's worship takes place on Sunday, which is supposed to be a day of rest but even Jesus pointed out that its okay to do your farm chores and harvest food to eat on Sunday etc. and yes i am free to have as many kids as i want and others are free to have a few as they want...it just doesn't mean God's pleased with them for doing so. he just doesn't force people to obey His commands. Its their choice to make.
DeleteIt's context that's key - "be fruitful and multiply" was a command given in the book of Genesis, before the world was populated. Wearing mixed fabrics, eating unclean meat, and not working on the Sabbath were commands given to the Israelites as part of their covenant with God to show they were separate from the heathen nations.
Delete@11:17 You know who God is pleased or displeased with. What power of insight to have! Also, I seem to remember lots of Genesis-era stories about what God did when he was displeased with people who didn't obey him. A notable flood for one. Killed people he didn't like for another (like Er and Onan). I don't think it's wise to go around these days professing who pleases or displeases God. He seems pretty whimsical with smiting and sacrifice. And I didn't think some books of the Bible were supposed to be more important than others. So you can't obey Genesis rules but forget about Leviticus (and other book) rules because they may not apply to your nationality. Do you have your battlement on your roof (Deuteronomy)?
DeleteHaving one child is considered multiplying as opposed to not having a child at all.
Delete"Be fruitful and multiply" but don't ask the church or the government to help you after that because neither one is going to. States are losing their free school lunch programs, and other food and health programs are being defunded. This is a huge shame and will impact larger families the most. Where is Christian care and compassion for fellow humans? Not in the hearts of many people. God is watching...
Delete@11:17 Your Bible is like an ancient Rorschach Test. People read it and see or believe whatever they want. Of course, a good share of people think that only THIER take on it is the right one and everyone else is wrong. I'm sick and tired of people who take it upon themselves to proselytize to other people and proclaim to know the mind of god.
DeleteShe looks too far along to be due in January. Either it's twins, or she is trying to throw everyone off with that date.
ReplyDeletei thought the same
DeleteI had been predicting for months that Jana and Stephen would be one of the Duggar couples expecting a baby this year and my prediction was right. And the timing was just perfect because they had just celebrated their one year wedding anniversary.
DeleteI didn't have twins, but by 4 months people thought I was near my due date. Some of us just get bigger tummies earlier than others.
DeleteHow do you know this by looking at a picture?
DeleteNot the only one to think that she's further along and that due date is not true.
DeleteWhy on earth would she lie about it? How ridiculous.
Delete@12:06 To have privacy when the real date comes. To sell the story exclusively to People magazine. To keep photographers away. Lots of reasons to fudge that date.
DeleteShe probably doesn't want the press hounding her so she said later than the real date. Then she can pop out the baby as a surprise a month or two before that. She'll still sell a story to a magazine. Selling birth stories, their favorite thing.
DeleteGood points. I stand corrected. 🙂
DeleteJana and Stephen's kids and Jeremiah and Hannah's kids will be double first cousins! So happy for Jana and Stephen.
ReplyDeleteI’m SO happy for Jana!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePraise God! It is as if the Lord knew she needed time to get her home in order and she did it without having to be pregnant and they got to know each other for a year and now she’s fixing to have a baby and it’s perfect timing like God always does we’re praying for you all and celebrate with you!
ReplyDeleteGod's perfect timing? What about women who are pregnant right away or pregnant before the wedding? Guess that theory goes out the window.
DeleteOur plan was to get married wait to try for a baby after 5 years and hope to get pregnant on first try. Well that's exactly what happen. It was our plan and God answered our prayer.
DeleteFunny how god gets the credit for being "perfect" when things work out the way you want. Where's this "perfect" god when children are born into abusive and neglectful homes?
DeletePeople are sinners, that does not mean God is not perfect. We live in a fallen world.
Delete@10:36 So innocent children have to suffer what sinners are doing to them because the world is "fallen" or something? Honestly, the mental gymnastics here is unbelievable.
Delete@10:36 Ah... the "fallen world" excuse. If people are all "sinners" and god created us all, then it's a design flaw any all-powerful god could correct. That he/she hasn't done so and countless innocent children continue to suffer is as sign of a very weak god... or a psychopathic one. I am glad there's no evidence proving the existence of either.
DeleteThe heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork
DeleteI guess you have not heard about free will. God could have made us all believers but He gives us the choice to believe or decide I know better than the Creator of the world. All people sin & sin has consequences. And sometimes those consequences cause others to suffer including children (Ex: parent using hard drugs, all money goes to buy hard drugs not food for children).
Delete4:43, the sin came AFTER God created Adam and Eve - with the free will that they used to choose to disobey. Nobody would want to be created without a free will. You included.
Delete11:01 & 9:57 There is no "free will" in your god world. For starters, no one gave consent to be born into this world, let alone to whom or into what circumstances. And there's no free will involved where we must worship a certain god or follow certain religious doctrine... or else our goose is cooked. Such an arrangement is called extortion.
Delete"Hard drugs" - what? Nobody uses that term.
Delete3:46, life is a gift. Free will is a responsibility. You are free to make choices, understanding that there are consequences to unwise choices. Some people don't care what the consequences are when they choose.
Delete10:53, how can you say nobody uses that term when the other commenter did, in fact, use that term?
DeleteThis is such joyful news! So happy for them! They will be awesome parents!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! <3
ReplyDeleteReally happy for Jana and Stephen. Eileen
ReplyDeleteThis not big news . You all knew it would happen sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteSo happy for Jana and Steven!
ReplyDeleteI am a double first cousin and none of us resemble one another. We all look like our other family members.
ReplyDeleteOne of my double cousins could be my twin if we were the same age. Just saying.
DeleteFor once a Duggar woman is having a baby at a normal age instead of practically being a teen mom!
ReplyDeleteNormal is relative. Once upon a time "teenage" moms were the norm. Culture changes the norm becasue culture changes, but that doesn't mean the culture or the norm is the way it ought to be done. Only the Bible doesn't change. And it says when you get married, you procreate. So no matter how old someone is when they marry whether its 18 or 35, you be fruitful and multiply.
DeleteDoes that church also provide financial support for their procreation plan? I know that many people who profess church beliefs are the same ones who take financial support away by defunding programs.
DeleteActually, 35 is old to be starting out. Risks go up after 35. Can be considered a geriatric pregnancy after 35. P
DeleteThis is called a geriatric pregnancy given Jana’s age. So “normal” is relative. Eileen
DeleteI'm 2:13. In my part of the country (NYC metro area), 35 actually is the average age to have a first baby! Some women even wait until they are in their 40s to start families. It is a very career- and education-oriented area, so many people delay having families to focus on college and work. Also, religion is not important to most of us Northerners, so we don't care about what the Bible says. The cost of living is also very high, so people can't afford to (nor want to) have babies right out of high school.
DeleteCongratulations Jana & Stephen!! I'm So Happy for you two. Praying for a healthy & safe pregnancy. ❤️🙏🏾
ReplyDeleteIf someone isn't getting married they are having a baby dating or engaged
ReplyDeleteYes. No telling who else is announce an engagement or pregnancy this year.
DeleteAll major life events most of us look forward to. In a a family this large, this will continue and be cause for many celebrations that we can all enjoy and wish blessings and happiness. Eileen
DeleteThere are 19 of them. Stands to reason we'll be hearing a LOT of these announcements. I don't know why anyone would be surprised.
Delete10:51,we aren't surprised, we're absolutely elated for them!!! That's the affect wonderful news about wonderful people has on others who care. 😊
DeleteCongratulations Jana & Stephen!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, yay! Having your own baby is such an amazing experience. I'm happy for her to get to know what it's like after all the siblings, nieces, and nephews. It's just a whole extra level of love and bonding.
ReplyDeleteThis is great news! Funny how Edward Owen is a has-been now! I hope Jana gives us good news like this every year for a while!
ReplyDeleteNews on Edward Owen was too drawn out people lost interest.
DeleteI can’t find this announcement on Jana’s socials or youTube. I would love to know the source! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is on Jana's Instagram
DeleteIt's on her Instagram page. Jana Wissman(JanaMDuggar)Instagram
DeleteJohn David and Abbie expecting #3
ReplyDeleteI hope she has multiple sets of twins as she needs to catch up.
DeleteSo happy for them! They will be excellent parents! Maybe they will have twins! I’m happy for all the Dugger babies. Jessa is a sweetheart also! Please say prayers for Erin Paine🙏
ReplyDeleteIt's up to God if they have twins as they say.
DeleteIt's not up to God, it's basic biology, a roll of the genetic dice.
DeleteJust saying what the Duggars say.
Delete
